  • Wow that is amazing! I love contemporary and ballet and they way they go together so well. This dance is incredible and it is amazing to see such great strength in a beautiful way.

  • I like that it's called pointless & it's en pointe ^.^ haha, but seriously, amazing dancing !

  • I agree. Dancers do not have to be twigs. I am a dancer, myself. I have some meat on my bones. Guess what. It's MUSCLE! So what if we aren't twigs? We were blessed with curves! :)

  • Badass.

  • Wow. Just wow. I am absolutely in love with this. :D

  • The impressive part is that she balances in second grand plie on pointe from 1:59 to 2:30ish!

  • listen, i watch many dance videos online and in class, and take great joy in criticing them. but this, it was amazing. i loved it. please continue dancing! :)

  • I really like this! This truly is an exploration! There are so many things one can do with pointe shoes outside of the "classical" box, it's fun to experiment and come up with some really interesting movement. This was great, it was beautiful at the same time! You are so strong!

  • I LOVE the choreography. And I LOVED watching you dance!! I also loved the strength you had in the stillness. Amazing.

  • She has a beautiful body and looks beautiful as a dancer. What is wrong with people?! You cannot please everyone. If she were very thin....someone would complain as well.

  • cocorosie is always a treat :)

  • I knew right away, I was like this has to be CocoRosie. I love them!

  • I can kinda understand where people are coming from with the whole body shape thing. I do ballet and have since I was a little girl, im not that great and im definantly by no means thin, if anything kinda chunky... But I do it because I enjoy it. I have nothing at all against thin girls or dancers, I would actually love to be thinner... But it is nice to see someone who is close to my bodyshape moving so beautifully... it gives me hope that maybe one day I will be atleast half as graceful... :)

  • Was this recorded at The Place?

  • 1:51-2:32 OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOD!

  • @mpananoe looks like it would hurt my ankesss

  • This was a wonderful concept, it was just not executed well enough. There was too much floor work when the focus is her shoes. Also, the stage could have been used a bit more but regardless, the dancing was amazing.

  • is the name 'pointless' meant to be irony?

  • that was really really really good.... but i dont think a contemporary like this should have been done on pointe...

  • i think thats sort of what theyre getting at. Choreography that wouldnt expect to see with pointe shoes

  • absolutely beautiful

  • omg this girl looks like she weighs like 125 thats thin!! leave the chick alone!

  • I LOVE this piece, I am amazed.

  • dancin has nothing to do with being a twig but it also has nothing to do with having an body shape or size. its about talent technique and passion. Its annoying that people think they're great cos they say 'i love her for being comfertable with her body i like shes not a twig' ho about 'i like her cos she can dance' i mean there are all sorts of bodies in the world cant we accept "twigs" and "curves" an not seperate them. Because its just as judgemental to say its nice not to have sticks?

  • wow that is a really interesting contemporary piece, i really like it =]

  • Exquisite! Wonderful choreography, dynamic performance, and the use of the pointe shoe in a contemporary fashion is so refreshing!

And this song is amazing, that's how I found this video. =P

  • Why is everyone fawning over this video just because the chick has meat on her bones?

It's impressive because of the choreography - SUPER-amazing. But she's not some sort of hero just because she's over ninety pounds. Plenty of dancers are simply naturally skinny, and it's not fair to say that their bodies are not "real." I'm quite thin but I'm pretty sure I'm real. EVERYONE should feel good about their bodies - the big AND the small. None of this "Your body isn't real!" crap.

  • agreed, her accomplishment is her beautiful dancing, NOT her figure.

  • @screamoballerina AMAZING WAY OF PUTTING IT. I completely agree.. it isn't fair how people at school call me and some of my dance friends anorexic just because we're ballerinas. I'm not even THAT skinny, though some of my friends naturally are. And we love food! Dance is about celebrating our bodies and freeing our souls, and demands so much physically that yes- many dancers are quite thin. But even those who are naturally bigger can fit into the category of "dancer" if they still feel the joy.

  • @livelaughdance62 don't worry--you are not the only one. This past year I had the EXACT same problem with some of my friends. They claimed that one of my friends and I were anorexic just because we are "thin." My friend was naturally thin and I went to her house many-a-time and discovered that she really didn;t eat much--BUT THATS JUST HER! I L.O.V.E. food(: it's just I eat healthy stuff and I work off all the calories dancing!

  • @screamoballerina um u should think about be a little less rude

  • @91hondacord I don't see how what I said was rude. This girl is amazing, but I feel like when people praise this girl for her shape they're they're putting way more emphasis on her body than on her abilities. Like Clownporn said, we should like her because she's a great dancer, not because she's a little bigger than the average ballerina (and only a LITTLE bigger, really). Sorry if I made you feel bad about yourself in any way. I'm just saying, ALL body types are beautiful, not just curvy ones.

  • comme quoi la beauté et la technique de la danse ne se limite pas au ficelle ! Merci pour cette belle performance !

  • do you know why i love it?

because they chose a real girl with a real body...

not a girl that has starved herself for weeks to be a stick.

    i'm a dancer. but not a stick.

beautiful girl, beautiful choreography, beautiful performance!

  • true!! <33333 you for saying that

  • true.. She isnt a stick.. i am a dancer but im not a stick.. idk i wish i was as confident as she seems in her body.

  • Im with you and those dancers are the best there are!!! ROCK ON!

  • dancing has nothing to do with how skinny you are. theyres plenty of dancers that arent sticks. actually...theres alot more of them than those "twigs" ....think about it

  • @bootifulballetfeet dude, they chose her because she was a good dancer! even if she was a "stick" that doesn't make her body "fake". some people ARE naturally thin!

though it is good that she is confident with her body...

  • LOVE cocorosie, LOVE this.

  • okay?

  • This was beautiful. I really like how you can see that its possible that a beautiful dance can be performed by a real person, with a real body. Its refreshing to see a wonderful dancer who isnt a stick figure lacking a shape and is just a pile of skin and bones. The dancer does this piece with so much emotion and its great to watch. I love the concept too, very avante garde and original!

  • That was AMAZING!!! It was JUST DIFFERENT! I loved it! It was so... so... brilliant! :)

  • "Music; Raphael [extended] by Cocorosie" lol

  • The music sounds A LOT like a Cocorosie song. Correct me if I'm wrong?

And this was an amazing solo. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I liked the concept of it.

  • woah that was good!

  • Great!

  • Good performance. Liked the style.

  • briliant performance!

  • really amazing! =)

  • Wonderfully refreshing! Glad to see someone who's not afraid to be creative as well as talented and who can think outside the box and come up with exciting and new! Well Done!

  • contemporary isn't my thing but i LOVE the idea of using pointe beyond ballet its something i've been fascinated with for quite a while

  • that was weird but in a good way:)

  • Lovely work, Graham! well done!!! Very proud... Susie, The Ex-Queen of the Fairies

  • I greet.Bravo! Excellent film, obviously nice choreographical arrangement, and hereinto curiously executed - pleasantly oneself it looks at him. I apologize for my non-U English. The greeting of for dancer - the adorer.

  • if anyone could provide an english translation it would be appreciated :) - Graham

  • personally, comtemporary isnt my thing but u have great lines good feet and good pointe work
