  • I'm sure that you think your belief is not blind faith. Exactly what makes it not blind? In other words, what is the evidence, beyond blind faith, that you have to show?

  • "It's not faith without evidence."

It's not? Spectacular! Where is this evidence because there are millions that have been waiting to see it over the last 2000 years?

  • Thanks for the two goats headbutting at the beginning of your video, it's quite brilliantly summarizing most of the atheists vs believers debate on youtube. I'm glad that people like you and rabidape show it's possible to debate without hurling insults at each other.

  • To also add to your questions Guitar:

What about the distance calculations between here and our neighbouring galaxies?

The fact that we're able to see the birth of some stars and the death of others?

The fact that we have so far been able to detect galaxies as far as 14 billion light years away?

  • ya... thats what i meant with "cosmology", basically everything studied in cosmology challenges something in the bible, yet they still try to hold onto their beliefs

  • Sorry, I realised after my post that you had mentioned Cosmology already ;-)

  • what about cosmology

    what about dentrocronology

    what about plate techtonics

what about ice core samples recording climate from the past 700,000 years

  • Guitar, even in spite of the overwhelming evidence, the scientific consensus for Evolution (99.98% agreement among the community), the peer-reviewed scientific journals from over a hundred different scientific disciplines and field, and the genetic evidence pointing to the fact that humankind did NOT start at Mt Ararat, some people will continue to believe as they wish to.

  • 1. what does human population have to do with anything?

    2. Be more clear as to how mtDNA helps your cuase,

3 First ever evidence of civilization comes from way before 6000 years ago (35,000 years for cave paintings, and 11,000 year old granary found in the jordan valley.

oh, and you still havent answered many of my other question, what about human lineage

  • please humour me and tell me some of this "overwhelming evidence"

how would you explain the very well documented human lineage from ape-like to human over the last 7 million years (autrialiopithicus Aferensis all the way to modern Homo Sapiens Sapien)

you cant just say it is supported by science, i will not just take your word for it I AM AFRAID!!!

  • wow, you are about as ignorant as they come. SCIENCE DOES NOT ACCEPT THAT HUMANS ARE 6000 YEARS OLD!!! LOOK IT UP!!! "the eye appears designed therefore was designed" this has many arguments: first, who designed the designer... i will save some time, and assume that you say he is eternal (convienent). Evolution explains how an eye can evolve without involving a designer. it is why owls have amazing eyes, it is best for thier environment

  • to believe in something without evidence is the exact opposite of logic.

tree rings do not support the bible, the oldest tree found is 11,000 years old. the 6 days of creation included the creation of the heavens and the EARTH... it says so, there is no interpretation needed here.

  • i honestly don't know where you get your information from. For some reason, creationists think that radiometric dating has been discredited... it does become less accurate the older the rock is, but not so much to yeild a rock being 4 billion years old when it is actually 6000. (and yes scientists have found rocks dating back to 4 billion years old).

  • in the bible, god created the heavens and the earth in 6 days. therefore if you take the bible literally (which you said was ok) humans should be the same age as the earth (less a few days). how do you expain plate techtonics, dentrochronology (study of tree rings), cosmology and the light from distant galaxies billions of lightyears away. there are so many contradictions to the bible it is laughable how people can still have faith in it. (the age of the earth is one of many issues with it)

  • evolution (not sure why you refered to it as evolution"ism") is testable, and falsifiable. there is a great amount of evidence to support evolution, don't be afraid to read something that isn't clouded by christian bias. The scientific method has been proven time and time again. look around your room, and tell me one thing that hasn't been influenced by science... SCIENCE WORKS. Peer review ensures it works, every scientist is eger to disprove, and discredit, every other scientist.

  • as for the age of the earth. taking a literal interpretation of the bible, James Ussher calculated a creation to have occured on October 23 4004 B.C. (Circa 6000 years ago). Science on the other hand using radiometric dating, estimates that the age of the earth is more like 4.5 Billion years old, and a universe is around 14 Billion years old.

  • another issue is your willfull ignorance to science and the history of humans. Science would have to contradict what you have just said "humans have been here 6000 years. Science and history support this." Well unfortunatly that is also not what science says. The general concensus among scientists is that humans have been around between 100,000 - 250,000 years. fossil records confirm this. There are many archeological finds of primative tools used by early homo sapiens.

  • 1. not really sure what you mean about this one

    2. contradictions of science and the bible: age of the earth (6000 years vs. 4.5 billion), Noahs flood?, talking snakes?, virgin births?, reserections?

    3. CREATION IS NOT SCIENCE - it is not TESTABLE, and UNFALSIFIABLE...therefore not science... please provide some examples of how creation is supported by science, rather then just saying that it is.

  • evolution is not concerned with what caused life. it deals with what occurs once life arose. scientists are still searching for the answer to what started life, but just because science can't explain it, doesn't mean that "god" does. the more and more science contradicts the bible, the more and more the bible becomes a metaphor. Intelligent design will never be science, it is untestable, and unfalsifiable.

  • evolution is NOT random, the mutations are random, but the selection mechanism (natural selection) is the exact opposite of random.

  • I love your farm animals. Makes me miss the old farm growing up. Especially the chickens.

  • stop tossing those suedo philosophy around

  • Hi Hon,

I hope today finds you happy. I really enjoyed your video. I wrote in the video he did (where he was pretending to ask Jesus into his heart, and asking what else he needed to do), I wrote in the comment section only one word... "Believe"! Just as you are saying here, It's fairly simple. You know in the end, not all will be with God. It's so sad.

    (((Hugs))) to you...

    Paula

  • MMMM fresh goats milk, cheeees, butter,I hear chkns, fresh eggs... I love it. My GOD created all that for us, Amen

  • If everybody's memories were erased all in the same instant and we had to relearn how to use our machines and live our lives, would religious belief ever return?

If a religious belief claims to represent the cosmological reality of the universe, it should be self-evident without prior belief. If there were no bible, no torah, no koran, and no memory of those belief systems, God would never again enter human conciousness.

  • The clash between theism and atheism arises from differing standards of proof.

Theists say that in order to get proof, you must believe.

Atheists cannot believe until they get proof.

  • An answer isnt really an answer if it requires a leap of faith.

  • Oh wow! Your cat looks almost identical to a stray I've taken to feeding.

    (See v=rbU0-UXd0ew )

Probably is the same cat. Most well fed stray cat I've ever seen.

  • your astounded that an atheist can be decent? i would like to point out that there are just as high a percent of rude and inconsiderate Christians/theists as there are atheists.

  • Of course im joking :) It was suposed to be "Borat Joke".

  • there is no god (most probably not, just wishful thinking)... what's the problem?

  • I love that hat.

  • This was a good exchange!

  • Doublebug, you are really working hard to get on my good side.

    :)

  • LOL! Benny the rooster attacked you.

I'll give you 5 stars because you seem honest, and in peace with yourself, and that's really hard to do.

  • my pleasure!

  • I'm not an official RRS member, but we see eye-to-eye on a lot of things...

    :)

  • Hello. Im a "Goat expert" from eastern europe. I know everything about goats that there is to be known. From just one look on them i can say that bouth of them are ATHEISTS!. How do i know that? After years of experience in goat whispering busines

i simpli feel that in my gut. (Stephen Colbert would be a great Goat Expert. Shamefull that he was not born i eastern euriope :( )

  • Could you post links or something to the evidence for what you believe? Just interested :)

The goats are beautiful, by the way! Seems like a great lifestyle.

  • Interesting............

  • bonus Credibility Points® for:

Is there ANYTHING that could IN PRINCIPLE convince you that your beliefs about your religion are false?

    a) Yes, I am always taking new information into account. To be open-minded is to admit that I might be wrong.

    b) No! NOTHING can ever convince me that I am wrong. I am close-minded.

  • well most Christians would add other option:

c)No! NOTHING can ever convince me that I am wrong. Because I clearly see the truth.

A friend of mine is a really extremist Catholic and She openly said that she is VERY open minded, but she claim to see the truth so clear that its impossible to be wrong.

However that doesn't work for me.

  • bonus Credibility Points® for:

What is more important to you?

    a) Discovering and sharing with others what is real, true, and factual

    b) Defending and sticking to the ideas and opinions you came here with

  • Again most Christians would add:

    c) Defending and sticking to the ideas I came here, because they are real, true and factual

  • bonus Credibility Points® for:

The extent of my interaction with the Hovind crime family was filing the paperwork to counter the fraudulent DMCA claim they filed against me (felony!).

I haven't decided to sue them. Is that neighborly enough?

  • bonus Credibility Points® for:

How are YOU affected by someone else blaspheming?

  • bonus Credibility Points® for:

I thought God hardened the Pharaoh's heart?

  • bonus Credibility Points® for:

As someone who is so skeptical of people's motives on YT (completely understandable!), and so offended by blasphemy, answer me this:

Is there a better way for someone to illustrate their sincerity when saying "I do not believe that this God character exists" then to blaspheme against it?

  • here we go again:

The PRIMARY question (from my 'help me' video) was:

"If you believe that salvation only comes through faith in Jesus, what do you tell someone who tries to believe, but cannot?"

hanging out in the periphery of that question are:

-How do know that the Bible is more than just a book in the first place?

-What is it about 'faith' that the Creator finds so endearing? Why not 'love' or 'compassion'?

  • Truly awesome and Incredible video your a beautiful person love you lots May God Bless you and keep you always.

  • Talking to the artist about what the artist intended. Thats what prayer is isn't it...talking to the artist. He is the author and finisher of our faith.

  • Bless you for trying to help Rabidape and well done on such a great analogy but you didn't answer his request. Rabidape asked "What does he need to do find faith?" We all know why it would be nice and help us get into heaven if we believe in God, but how can you, what convinces you that God is there.

  • I like your goats :)

  • Something must be wrong with this video than, I still have five stars.

    Oh no

    ;)

    Happy New Years to you

  • I really hate to block people but it has got to be done once in a while. I was so bad on that video that I almost turned off the comments, but then 2 Christians came by and admired my one star video and it made me feel glad that I left it open.

  • sable, you need to know that the Christian YouTube star rating system is opposite. a one star video is exceptionally...on target for God...... :) Great job, love ya sister.
