  • Thank you for posting this, "rickyon", and for including the interesting facts about the lyrics!

Graduated H.S. in 1978, so this was always 'my band', and I was lucky enough to see them in concert (sixth row!) back on November 3, 1980 at the Milwaukee Arena, for the 'Audio Visions' tour ('A / V' was their last 'gold' album).

Ah, sweet memories of youth...... :-)

  • @msdemos

"('A / V' was their last 'gold' album)"

Correction: 'Audio-Visions' was Kansas' last gold STUDIO album.

  • You're welcome. 1980 was a very good year for Kansas. You picked a good time to see them!

  • One of my FAV Kansas Tunes. VERY Unsung but a classic!

  • "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit."

    ~ Psalms 34:18

    Through music ~ EVEN ~ Rock 'n Roll. :)

    Peace,

    V

  • What an awesome band! Steve's voice still sends shivers down my spine. Makes me feel like a kid again.

  • theossy i compleatly agree but i am 15 and have beenlistining to this amazing music from the time i was like 3 wish i was born erlier also

  • class of 1976... and no better song than this... Kansas rocks! Thanks for bringing back some incredible memories.

  • @LaurieFiori Hey Laurie, I'm a class of 76 alum as well! I love this song too......the memories.......keep rockin!

  • Great video!!! Another smokin hot jam from the 80's!!!! Have a good one.

  • My brain's done exploded again what with all this here Kansas music I'm suddenly getting acquainted with... I totally should've been born a couple of decades ago.

  • Enjoy the music but enjoy your youth as well!

  • @theossy nah.. this shit is horrible....sounds like STYX on quayludes

  • @leonakita hey I've heard Styx and have done quaaludes(correct spelling)...........Kansas was one of the first arena rock bands that really gave the best show, the best live music, and if you saw them live you could say you got your moneys worth. yeah the music is different but that was part of the attraction. not a top 40 band by no means, strictly album rockers when the music meant more than the money.

  • Kansas...simply the best of the best...awesome music.

    ...

  • Rickyon, I'm just sayin' what's on my mind: thank you and Kansas for this one. 35 years ago I was in college and I met a girl...sound familiar? I fell for her and all over everything else in my life so of course it didn't work. But this song takes me back to one of my personal mountaintops. She's still a friend but long gone and in another universe, but I will never forget her. Hey Janet, pardon me if my feelings are showing. But you knew that.

  • You're welcome.

  • @OnTheWatch I think we must all have a neverending story like that And We thought it would be forever Too !!!

Good Luck to you and hope you have stopped that stumbeling thing too !!!

  • I feel like this song should be more popular... I mean, this and "Carry On" are Kansas' only two normal-ish songs. Don't get me wrong, I am a Kansas fan, but I understand a lot of people out there don't like their style of music. Even they should enjoy this song.

    That's what's on my mind.

  • sweet video.

  • Thanks!

  • Salve for the soul...thanks, Rick. Gonna do me some more Kansas surfing.

  • You're welcome.

  • I have stood in the pouring Milwaukee,WI rain in shorts and a muscle shirt 5 imesto see them at summerfest and 4 more times at the miller maritime days and all of these venues the crowd is pretty small and at every concert they took the time at the end of their show to do a meet and greet!Very cool band!!

  • You have experienced why almost every single Kansas fan becomes truly fanatical about their band. I'm not talking about someone who's heard "Dust", "Carry On" and maybe "Point" and "Hold On". I'm talking about real fans, like yourself that really know the musical brilliance of this group and see them again and again. I've met them myself and they are truly cool!

  • @rickyon i compleatly agree! I hate when people at my school say they suck, because they have only heard carry on, dust, or the wall! I actually dig deep and find the hidden gems. Monolith has a lot to offer and so does Audio Visions and Masque. In Fact, im all most sick of hearing Carry on because i like all of the uknown songs now!

  • @cooldudebailey I agree with you. You hear the popular songs on the radio and get tired of them. I like listening to the full album and make my own decision of what I like.

I'm only sayin what's on my mind!

  • They got in and got out and left a message in 3:29 seconds...

  • Only 17 thumbs up? And more than 3K ppl have viewed it. I don'tr get it? There should be lots more thumbs up.

  • Very cool.

  • Amazing when you think about all the great songs that Kansas brought. I'm so glad most of them were not mainstream and got little air time if any at all.

  • Rock on, Rick!!!! Thanks for posting.

  • You are too kind Rachel.

  • I would have killed to see Kansas in 1978!!!! With Steve "GOD" Walsh at his peak. Thanks

  • You're welcome! I saw them once when they dressed like hillbillies(1975) once when they dressed to the 9's (1978) once without Walsh (1982) and finally with Styx in 1996. They were awesome every time!

  • Your videos bring back GREAT memories Rickyon. All these videos remind me of seeing them in my hometown, right after Leftoverture was released, and also Monolith. On both tours they were dressed to the 9's. Steinhardt wore a white tux, and then wore a black tux for the Monolith tour. Steve wore his adidas shirt, tube socks, knee pads, and yellow shorts. I think that's as dressed up as he got back then. I appreciate you posting Kansas videos-one of the greatest bands of all time.

  • You're welcome and there will be many more different or live posts of Kansas to come in the future!

  • Brings back memories. Saw Kansas in 1978 at the height of their success. Incredible.

  • been a KANSAS fan forever. love this song! and the info you posted as well. THANX

  • I've been a fan since 1975 and for a long time I thought that there weren't that many of us! I guess that we have Guitar Hero and a couple of movies which included Dust and Carry On(as well as you-tube!) to thank for the amazing surge in all things Kansas! There are a bunch more Kansas tunes on my channel so check them out and enjoy!
