  • just bought the sig516 yesterday afternoon, now I'm waisting time at work itching to get off and shoot it

  • Ddddddd

  • You guys are one of my favorite weapon manufacturers.

  • The best 24 minutes of porn I ever watch.

  • the sg 550 type rifles are wayy better than both the ar-15 and ak-47 combined. still they get no recognition. at least this bad boy is in bf3. good job dice.

  • Looks like 2 hippies watched this

  • ROFL @ him drowning the gun like a madman in a button up shirt and slacks

  • I have a sig sauer 522(:

  • I LOVE my 556 and this will more than likely be my next AR purchase! @ Toyman07:

One of the guys in my Marine Corps League Detachment has a 516 and a 716 and they have ate everything we have put through them and begged for more! Are you sure you have the piston system on the right setting? If so I would send it back to Sig for warranty work. Sorry to hear your having problems and hope it gets worked out for ya!

  • @Amateur946

Not a DI gun the 516 is a short piston gun.

  • I have had one for about 6 months and it is very ammo picky.

  • @Raiderusmc1

I disagree tho everyone's circumstances and weapon (defects etc) my be different etc.. If you're talking about the 516 Ive used cheap federal bulk ammo to the good stuff and it works flawless for me same goes for my 556 classic, which Ive used even crappy wolf ammo fires like a charm each and every time. I hoping my Arsenal Ak (on order) will perform as well.

  • @Toyman07 Mine wont run PMC, S&B or winchester white box and I have already sent it back to sig once

  • @Raiderusmc1

Hmm Strange I ran about 200 rds of white box no prob. Well in any case sorry to hear your having probs I hope you get it sorted out.

  • I was thinking of getting an AK74 in 5.45x39 because of reliability, but after watching this I've decided that the Sig516 Patrol will be my next rifle. Awesome design!

  • I have to say im very impressed with your complete water submersion test,75% impressed with the other test! Not like lwrc where their dust covers are always sealed, and shake it for 3sec and wait another 3 to drain finally shooting 5sec later???whats up with that? So congrats Sig

  • Lol! Have u guys notice something? The ejection port of the rifle is closed...so really...if they gonna test it in the mud...as might as well leave the ejection port .whats the sense of testing it into the mud or dirt?? It only dirty the outside and not the inside of the rifle...

  • way to ruin that shirt in the mud lol

  • is the 556 as reliable or more pls help

  • @lostd00d It is the Cadillac of the 556 rifles. HK SL8 (G36), Sig 556 and also Sig 516 are all good. You can't go wrong with a steyr aug if there's any available too.

  • @lostd00d

Any Piston fitted rifle would be more reliable in these conditions than a DI gun. As the 556 is virtually a modernized and optimized AK. Don't see why not. Come on by the Sigforum lots of 556 owners there. As you can see from the majority of videos/comments. Youtube is NOT a place for serious discussions.

  • awesome rifle hope to get mine in the near future!!

  • Well, I'm impressed. Sold.

  • Next time shoot six mags little bit faster and dip that gun into icy salt water. I assume it will fail miserably :P

  • @Juusto

Just imagine what leaving your Airsoft gun out in the sun all day would do. : P

  • @Toyman07 Eh? My airsoft gun has pretty much the same fuctionality and materials as my Stag Arms AR15 ;P What I'm trying to say that it doesn't impress me much that you can dip your rifle in luke warm (i assume) water after firing 6 mags. If you want to go extreme, do something that hasn't been done before and prove that your product is better than others. Daniel Defence for example has pretty impressive test.

  • "WHY DA HELL SO EXPENSUE?"

Sorry guys, but my Asian mail order bride has a point.

  • gun is awesome for price point

  • The Border Police of Costa Rica uses the Sig 516 rifles, according to what I have told "...an experience out of this excellent, despite the humidity and dirt tropics"

  • Placed my order the the Sig716 yesterday. (Dec del Sig is saying) Cant wait.

  • The new 516 features a number of unique features; Like getting sued by LWRC.

  • @jah2mail

That news is so fucking old.. There are always 3 types of Sig 516 haters

    1. The LWRC lawsuit repeaters.

    2. Gas pistons are no improvement.

    3. Quality assurance is bad.

Same old shit repeated over and over by these town criers... One thing gets said online and all these morons jump on the bandwagon and spout the gospel. Hell don't like sigs? Then WTF are you doing here STFU and ignore it!

    Btw love my Sig 526, p226 and M400!! :)

  • @Toyman07 Wow, You need to sit down and take ten deep breaths, just relax man, it's an internet vid. I'm not a gas piston hater, I own a gas piston rifle. I do like sigs, and the fact is there are only a few ways to counter-act carrier-tilt and it happens to be the same in a few different rifles, sig just happened to do it a little later than most. I hope you didn't blow any blood vessels writing that comment. I do not own a Sig but I know for a fact their quality is top notch.

  • @Toyman07 What is a Sig 526? 556?

  • @Countavery

There is no 526. You must mean 556 it's the civilian version of the 551/552 Sig military rifle.

  • Did they seriously use requiem for a dream?

  • Ordered mine yesterday! Can't wait!!!

  • 5:39 to skip every fucking gun sig makes

  • I put my sig 516 to the test yesterday. i put 500 rounds of all types of cheap ammo through it, TulAmmo, wolf, brown bear, silver bear, and it worked flawless, never had one single miss fire. After being through sand, dust and 500 rounds it still ran clean.

  • @therosscompton Cool!

  • @therosscompton Bullshit!!! Where's the video????

  • i guess ill make one , ive got about 450 rounds of shit ammo to blow. ill let you know when i get it posted ..

  • right before he shoots after every test, it looks like he's praying that it fires...LOL.

  • Uh oh AK47! Looks like the man playing in the pond figured it out.

  • 16:30 he looks like he is having fun... great gun...

  • Dear santa...

  • By the way that bloke had wrong choice of clothing for this ;)

  • @RusWehrmacht Ha! i was thinking the same thing...looks like office wear to me.

  • @Embosan Indeed, what was he thinking

  • @Embosan Well, duh

  • @RusWehrmacht

LOL That's the best part of the vid! The test dude was a hoot!

  • Think of this scenario; the solider just by mistake droped his rifle in a pool of mud by an accident while in a middle of a firefight.... He must recover his weapon straigh away and fire off; no time taking the mud out from inside.

  • At about 15:34 he still shok the mud out of the muzzle and the ejection port and gave a rifle a realtivly good clean before test firing it. Should have just took it out straigh of mud pool and fired it straigh away. Ok it does show promosing results in terms of relability but im sorry those good few seconds can cost a solider his life and lifes of others...

  • @RusWehrmacht i guess you didn't notice how much mud he covered the rifle with...if a soldier had to dig a gun out of that much mud, then he would've been dead anyways. stop hating.

  • @FUdirtbag Yes and no, depends on situation, still every secod may count in a firefight

  • @RusWehrmacht true, but they stated there was no obstruction to the muzzle during the testing

  • @RusWehrmacht Look at the hunks of junk we carry now.

  • Just bought my Sig 516! Its like Christmas!!! Love the "Gear-Wars video game like" music.

  • 16:30 Yeah you show that waters whos boss

  • isnt the SIG516 just like the m4 ????

  • @h4xor27

    @dominic970

Oh no, h4x is only slightly wrong... it's just like the hk416... only $3000 less and made by an American company, from German parts.

  • wtf,isnt this just lik an hk416??

  • @dominic970 no not what so ever

  • lol i used a lot AK47 ! Better than sig sveral times, AK47 more powerful and almost indestructble . Less pieces . a ! very fun : 1 m underwater and shooting terestral targets ,

So , no doubt the old AK is better

  • I should have asked what mage is the 308 verson going to take . I just picked up the 516 and love it being left handed I can shoot it with my Gemtech on it with out getting gassed

  • Been looking and researching the AR platform for a dependable, durable and completely reliable weapon, I just found it! I am a strict SIG owner and here I had been looking elsewhere for an AR system and it had been right under my nose all this time. *LOL*

  • this thing is almost a pound heavier than regular AR. if anyone wants a mud gun, just get an AK or Mini-14. no need to make an AR to piston drive. The DI system has already been field proven. I'm not hatin', i'm just saying.

  • @rickylain do you really think anyone wants a "mud gun"? This weopon is exactly what an AR needs to be. I'm not hatin', i'm just saying.

  • @radiokiller07 if you like it so much then why don't you get it yourself and do a review on it. did you see how much smoke is coming out of the ejection hole? 12:32 and you think that gas is not going to foul the carrier group at all? did you know there's always carrier tilt for piston guns? i've shot all kinds of DI and piston guns. if you insist piston is more superior, go for it, more power to you.

  • @rickylain Actually I would love to purchase this, and I plan on it, except i'm in Afghanistan right now. Tons of money into R&D, you would think that Sig Sauer, and HK would have come up with a better system then gas impingement, and they did... Oh, BTW that's not a piston, it's a pushrod. Rather large difference. Oh, and btw again, the gas coming out of the ejection port is more than likely residual gas from the spent casing. Either way, it's a vast improvement over gas impingement.

  • @radiokiller07 It IS a piston gun BTW, the pushrod is just another name for the short stroke operating rod..note the gas nozzle, bleedout ports (some use a 'piston cup' to serve the same function), and op-rod..indicating a piston gun is exactly what it is.. you are right about gas coming out of the receiver's e.p. not traveling all the way back from the gas port though... who u w/ over there? Keep your dome down bro...s

  • @FTW20ten yeh for sure... piston when catagorized, but pushrod or " short stroke operating rod" when compared to lets say, an ak-47 type piston. i suppose it's essentially the same, then again, it's not. Due to opsec all i can tell you is mountains of uruzgan province. tangi valley. dome is down good friend.

  • @radiokiller07 nuff said..tangi was wired the fuck out last i heard (and had some especially 'stubborn' locals)..i truly hope its got better for y'all ovr there since then..that gives me a pretty good idea who ur w/..hit me up when ur back stateside & we'll see if i'm right (im assuming ur workin out of the OP that starts w/ the letter S)..either way, its nothing nice ovr there, so again, all the best to u, keep getting it done like y'all have been, & keep it moving!!.stay safe bro..respect..s

  • Antone know what mags it takes

  • @Raiderusmc1 Any AR mag will work.

  • @He101A

Most of these rifles we're designed and built in the US by Sig Sauer (The US Branch of the INTERNATIONAL arms manufacturer) Get off your high horse.. On a completely different note I have to get my hands on a 716 to put against the SCAR17S (Belgium design US made rifle) If the 716 doesn't have the carrier tilt issues of many AR platforms I'll take one, the extra 1lb be damned for 1300 dollars less. I love AR platforms and Sig makes some nice ones (So do S&W, Colt, BCM, Noveske, etc)

  • @He101A German engineering speaks for it's self, however did you put a man on the moon or did you invent the atom bomb? Were you the first to break the sound barrier? We can all stomp our feet and slam other cultures but what's the point? If your a troll, then screw off, but if you have connected brain cells then learn some acceptance!

  • @SpecialEd0531 ur rong mate the germans had the first fighter jets wich brok the barrier of sound , yes they had the first atom bomb prototipe it was from that prototipe that the americans built tha atom bombs ur so proud of ahh and did u know that the scientis that help built the atom bombs was a german scientis captured in the war.... U DON T KNOW SH.. ABOUT HISTORY AND THEY STOOL THE IDEA OF THE MOON LANDER FROM SPING ON THE RUSSIAN DURING THE COLD WAR

  • Finger point at 13:45 is the shit!!!

  • I want one!!!

  • Get ANGRY at that water!!!!!!!!!

  • How many times can I like this video?

  • Why can't these beautiful rifles be exported to Canada?!

  • I like it! How much???

  • can SIG make this more complicated !!!

  • On a side note, this is the only arms maker that makes a entertaining and long video with torture test im grestly considering purchasing firearms from this company. Thank You

  • Clean that rifle bitch!! Has any one else noticed he keeps pulling mags out of his ass? Just thought id point that out

  • Look Good :D

  • nice rifle how much is it? and can a civilian buy this?

  • I love my 516

  • Why was that Guy wearing a suit?

  • @eyeisyou because he kicks ass.

  • The guy narrating the torture test part reminds me of the "Would You Like To Know More" guy from "Starship Troopers".

Personally, I think the accuracy of the M-16/AR-15 but I think the operating principle has been superseded by better and more reliable designs.

As for the sand test, was the dust cover door open or closed?

  • Should have gotten rid of the forward assist. He never used it anyway.

  • What a great job! And gets paid!

  • @milkbig550 cool, i just subbed/freind requested you....sig holsters are outsourced, they are made in israel, they can only make a profit on the their most common pistol setups and even then i think their profit on them is pretty slim. One of the biggest pain in the ass things about pistols is its hard as fuck to find a good holster/light mag pouch combo. If i ever ran a gunstore i would sell that shit as a package put everything together for the customer.

  • @milkbig550 sig doesn't make holsters, they have some that are branded sig that are a cheaper serpa type holster and they don't have any models that hold a pistol w/light mounted. Bladetech can make a holster for you withany common pistol light combo, i use a Bladtech for my Sig GSR 1911/tlr1 combo. i have ordered a Raven Concelment holster for my 229/tlr1. If the light you bought is too rare it my be to hard to find a company who will make the holster unless you go completly custom

  • Comment removed

  • @hermanpotato meant to say bladetech can make you a holster for ALMOST ANY pistol/light combo-surefire,streamlight, etc

  • sweet ! i want to see more about the 556R !

  • pshhh...they market this crap like they invented it. This technologys been out for YEARS! And the name 516 and 716...hmmm....I wonder where they came up with that? oh yea...HK416. Original...no...not at all.

  • @clap5 so? it's way more affordable than an HK version

and HK was not the 1st to do a piston AR ,others have done it before as well

  • @brotherscoobs

Never said HK did it first on a AR plateform. First time it was done of a AR plateform was in the late 60's. Now please educate me and tell me what plateform i'm talking about. It shouldn't be that hard...as long as you have knowledge on how to work a serch engine.

  • @clap5 both colt and armalite dabbled with piston designs.

Niether plate form went to production, and i didn't find that in a serch engine :)

  • @brotherscoobs

Yes they did go into full production but were short lived. Also as of last year have been re-released. Thank you.

  • thats because one of the main designers of the hk 416 went to sig.... it was the guy in the video.... take a good look at the 416.. SIG did a better job and filled in the blanks that the 416 missed . this looks like a great rifle

  • @therosscompton

Yes...I know this guy is from HK...but how did you know that?

  • @clap5 I would dare to venture that probably the same way you know it?

  • @chulski2

    lol...wOOOoooooOOO spooky

  • just done my research is all. im in the market for a piston AR so i have been studying them. so far this one looks the most promising for the price .

  • @therosscompton

Cool, and you are correct. This is a good value for a piston rifle. By no means am I trying to diswade you from buying this particular rifle. I just feel it lacks originality in the promotion of this product. Personally I hate this picatinny gas block...You definately don't want to mount a polymer frontsite to it unless you want it to melt off. Just mount a fixed iron frontsite to it. If you use a flipup iron frontsite...wear gloves...don't want to burn your hands on it.

  • thanks for the tip , yeah i hear the gas block can get pretty hot. I plan on getting some pop up sights ill just have to mount the front sight behind the gas block. i like the adams arms gas blocks as well as their piston system but this will have to do , my other choice was the POF or the S&W psx but im pretty sure im getting the SIG. Got to get a new toy with my tax return lol.

  • @therosscompton Where do you get your information to confirm what your saying, it'll be helpful if you can provide any links!!!
