10990..so easy. for a single big cat thr r 7 kitten , so 7*4=28 +big ones (4)=32 . 7 more such amount of legs , so 7*32=224 for a bag, then for 7 bags? = 7*224=1568 for a girl now. we know for 7 such girls it would be , 7*1568=10976, don forget to include count the girls leg!!! so 7 girls , tht will be 14 . Add 14+10976= "10990"!!! BINGO !!!!! :D

Multiplication and prior knowledge of cats and the fact that humans have two feet is the answer. It's not a meaningful math problem because without the prior knowledge of the number of feet a cat and human have, a person will not know what value in terms of legs to attribute to cats or humans. The problem is utterly easy, especially if pure numbers were used instead objects which by extension have a value that needs to be counted. It really wouldn't teach a fifth grader anything about math.
