For me this is the purest modern fighter. its canopy its single tail fin. its a hawk on steroids and has the crispest note, just edges it over the typhoon for me , even though its getting dated.

@yamahonkawazuki Everything is relative! In this case it is relative to the F-15. At the time the F-15 was the best there was but the Russians had the numbers on their side. So there was the need to build a fighter that was good and affordable to be built in high numbers. That´s how the F-16 emerged. F-15 was good but too expensive. The unstability is an ADVANTAGE! The only reason why planes weren´t created like that before was exactly because the technology to control the plane didn´t exist.

Personally, I like the F-16. I do however, like the JSDAF version, the F-2, better. It's a definite improvement on the American model, but because the Japanese military is so underfunded, well.. you get the idea.
