@littletwed If they would have used a different name it would have been fine, its the fact that Sublime was registered legally in Bradleys name and his relatives raised a lawsuit, so they went with Sublime with Rome, which is just as bad, if not worse. That is why Bud left in 2011, he never wanted that name and the name is a complete rip off and a diss to Bradley, they used HIS band name and even attached Romes name to the end of it glorifying Rome. Not fair.

To me it's more Rome's ability to sing in a way that sounds simillar enough to Brad's voice (while not sounding "esactly like him" and maintaining his identity as an individual that impresses me. He has obviously been playing Sublime's songs since he started cause he's got all teh strum patterns and ska breakdowns down perfectly. Yes, I agree I miss Brad, but this is still making me bob my head so I say good music is good music aye.

Let's all be honest with ourselves... It's GREAT music, but it's far from being COMPLICATED MUSIC... Sublime's style is more about the groove and making you feel like dancing then it is about complicated guitar solo's and breakdowns. I'm a musicain and my band and I will just randomly whip out Sublime covers all the time cause it's such SIMPLE to play music and you'd be suprised how many times you just kinda "end up" in a patern to play a Sublime song. Doesn't mean it's BAD music, just simple.

I miss Brad Nowell, I really do. I saw Sublime in ???94??? I think in Eugene Oregon at a tiny bar and I really love them. BUT I think Rome does a GREAT job of keeping the spirit of the band alive in Brad's absence. I look at it this way: Bud and Eric should always be playing music so if they can find a guy who can let them play their music and make NEW music and sound great doing it, what's wrong with that? Brad's not just "not talking" to the guys, he's gone. So what's the alternative?

I love the addition of Rome to the new Sublime. I will always love Bradley, but guys, what do you want from the rest of Sublime? Hell, the Ramones had multiple band members... is there some rule in obscurity that demands a band name die with its lead singer or when the line up changes? Rome has raw, tangible power and talent all his own. This should not be seen as an attempt to replicate Bradley but more as an opportunity for fans to not only hear the original songs performed very close to the original while allowing Rome to fashion his own direction. There is no error in that.

I think Rome exudes just as much love as Bradley. I am so glad that they found a worthy lead singer. I do not see Rome as Bradley's replacement, but a growing medium for creating new art, that is Bradley's Sublime. After seeing Sublime, and Sublime with Rome in concert i have to say that he is a great heir to the ongoing Sublime trilogy. Rome is also doing some great things with The Dirty Heads as well.
