When you roll out the dough, make it as thin as you possibly can. If your shapes are too thick, they will turn out puffy as you said. A few of mine turned out that way, and they aren't as crispy and delicious.
So, just make sure that the dough is rolled out thinly, and you should be fine. The syrup won't cause them to be soggy when they're thin, either. Hopefully this helps! :)
I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEE YOUR MIXING BOWL! :) It's so cute! and wonderful response video! Thanks! :)

@AhBbJeh Yay! I love my flower mixing bowl!
I have a set of colourful ones that I love using as well!
I just used them to make a Korean rice cake dessert today, which is very similar to Japanese "Dango". So tasty!

Very Maangchi-esque! You make it look easy and I adore that you have Korean pop playing in the background =)

Thanks! It's an honor to be compared to Maangchi!
And they are very easy to make. Time consuming, but easy! And it wouldn't be a Korean cooking tutorial without Korean pop music!

Where in Canada do you live?
And you should go to Korea if you get the chance! I am looking forward to going and experiencing the culture in all of it's glory.
Oh yeah, and Korean food is obviously much cheaper in Korea, so that's also a plus! :D
