This kid is amazing! I remember 1st catching sight of him on the news, when he was about 17yo. He reminds me of Stevie Ray Vaughan (RIP). It's pretty sad that in today's popular music, guitar playing is unappreciated. Nobody cares anymore about who is the best guitar player. You don't even really hear any solos in music. I mean yea, J. Mayer, Stanley Jordan, etc, have a loyal following, but never again will a guitarist reach wide spread popularity, solely on his guitar playing abilities.

But he's no Mayer, SRV, etc. Perhaps it's his demeanor, but his playing seems a bit reserved. On the other hand, I did only see/hear him in 2 videos/1-2 minutes. He's worth a second glance. I will check him out more. Now Susan on the other hand, besides having an awesome voice, she might actually play better than Derek IMO! They make a great team.
