On an episode of "Seinfeld" that aired a few weeks before this awards show, a Puerto Rican flag was burned. Some were offended by the scene and it became a bit of a controversy. Jerry Seinfeld's waiving of the flag of Puerto Rico was a way of addresing the issue. By the way, I am Puerto Rican and was not offended by the episode, I thought it was funny and was surprised some made a big deal out of nothing.
