Fame is a heady drug, I tell people who haven't experienced it that they would be better off getting hooked on heroin. Spencer allows himself to be put in positions on his book lectures and TV appearences where he has to share personal opinion, somerthing far removed from his writing, and some of his personal opinions are as fascist as Muhammad's Islam.

Depends on the situation. You can find Spencer's "rhetoric' to be whatever you like but the body of work is his books that are well referenced and cited.

I didn't go kill a pregnant Holywood actress when I bought "The White Album" and I feel no way inclined to harm a Muslim after reading Spencer's books. Perhaps this is because I read another book that commands me not to kill and to love my fellow man? If I read a different book I may feel justified in killing a Christian after reading Spencer's books?

As for supporting Spencer's freedom of speech. I surely have no problem with it. In fact I don't know why questioning the Holocaust is a taboo. I wasn't born when it happened & I want to know the truth. What if some opportunist exaggerated on some parts of the holocaust & berried down other important parts. Judiasm and Christianity have a theology that supports a separation of church and state, Islam does not.

And if you read Spencer you'd see that he does address the insane parts of the Bible, with the understanding that omissions and partial acceptance of it allows progression, the Qu'ran's claim of being perfect does not.

The words that Robert Spencer's books use come from referenced and reliable sources.

If certain groups don't like being perceived a certain way then they should clean up their yard.

The Qu'ran says that it's to be taken literally and in it's entirety and also says horrible things. It is up to the followers of Muhammad to distance themselves and their faith from what is written, to be progressive like other faiths, but the theology, itself, prevents them from doing so.

B) There is no Holy text more violent than the Bible. Not the Avesta, not the Koran. Read numbers, or Leviticus. It instructs Israelites under Moses, Joshua and others to slaughter inhabitants of cities, all of them. It specifies "kill the suckling infants" and orders them to take the virgin and premenstrual women as slaves for sex.

Spencer concerns me, although I am aware of and agree with most of his writing, because his ideas about combatting Islam can't work without violating the rights of all citizens. He does not call for violence rather he calls for legislation that would effect the right of Muhammadans to assemble and worship but this legislation cannot pass without affecting MY right to assemble and worship, too.
