wouldn't really qualify the "splinter grabs knife/let's go of chucks" scene as a "mistake." i've noticed them do cuts like that when two small actions take place simultaneously, or in very rapid succession. i think the way it was presented was fine. i'm sure if they could have done it all in a wide shot they would have, but it would have been difficult for two actors to pull off, much less with puppets.

I might argue that seeing the edge of the backdrop isn't a mistake of the movie but a mistake in them re-cropping the movie to make it "fullscreen." In such situations more of the vertical space is used, revealing parts never meant to be seen by the audience. So, since some of the mistakes are due to recropping the movie into a lame format that should hardly count as a mistake from the flim-makers intending for their movie to only be seen in Widescreen.

I remember having a little book based on scenes from the movie, drawn as cartoons. In it, the part where they spar blindfolded is present. A picture is even used on the cover. It's funny because all the other turtles aside from Leo took off their blindfolds and as a kid I figured it was just am artists mistake, lol.

most of these so called mistakes, are only visible on the vhs copy which had to be open matted to fit the 4:3 ratio. the top and bottom was not meant to be seen, which is why in the theatrical version and wide screen dvd you will not see any of these mistakes. BTW, in terminator 3 it had the opposite effect, in the wide screen version, it covered up the female terminator's cleavage. in the open matted 3:4 version you could see it. just goes to show, people will always complain no matter what!
