  • Good review and recommendation. Being a long time veteran, I know what surplus items to look for and know if there are advantages to going with Military Surplus items over commercial items. Some civilians may not. So thank you.

  • I saw the website, they wanted over $150.00 for a full Rifleman MOLLE vest, when I could get that same thing for less than $70 at my local surplus store!!!

  • thanks for the imformative video!

  • I live in Brazil.

  • Refreshing to see reviews of something other than the newest latest coolest. Thanks

  • want that web page some thing look thing and information you have tine of information write at spiritwild09@hotmail.com

  • the armynavy store is my favorite store

  • wow that site is expensive 16 dollars for a 50 cal ammo can and its on sale...

  • i took a look at their website, its quite extensive...but it is expensive as sin for a lot of stuff that I look at. $40 bucks for an E-Tool is criminal. I can get it at my surplus like-new for $12. Ontario machete for $42? It should be half-that for high end price. Now, everything isn't overpriced, just a lot of it.

  • shopping time brotha.....happy b day!!!

  • Nice video man you now have one more subscriber

  • i've never been to battle boy, but ebay sure has a lot of good stuff. only problem is, is that a lot of it is coming from another country. ironic, isn't it? i guess if you are pressed for time, battle boy would be a better option. i'll definitely check them out.

  • Hey big homie are you retired military

  • Hello Cole. I have been watching you very closely and plan to murder you in the near future. Just warning you in advance.

  • Good stuff

  • love the don't tread on me patch

  • nice vid

  • I hate my army surplus store the guys there act as if everyone else is green horns dont actually show interest in the customers.... fuck'em

  • Another place to try is Delk's in Asheboro, NC. It's like the walmart of mil surp!

  • its all very nice gear..survival kit mostly..but preparation is the mother of success

so were is the high tech gadgets..gps stuff...lights...electric power generators to provide durability and functionality...anti thermal detection (suits) detection kits...silencer pocket too...stufff like this...also a PDA too...like in the games

    lol:P

  • gotta love those MilspecMonkey patches!

  • He probably knows it's for a gas mask, he's just talking about how you can use it in a purification situation

  • im 20 minutes from fort benning :D cheap milsurp right down the road

  • The cap on the canteen in the video is for the drinking tube on a M17A1 protective mask.

    Joe-R

  • Do you think the Molded waist belt would fit a 40- 42" waist? I have the 5.11 chest rig, which fits fine, but want to switch up to a belt style set-up. I'm having some trouble with my charging handle (BCM mod3) and sling snagging on the chest rig at times. They are only $12.99 on there site. I really want one, but not if it dont fit me. Thanks sootch.

  • The straws are for NBC ( nuclear, biological, chemical )

  • sootch this is really helpful information for me. Thanks for making this video. Please ignore all the asshole critics who don't even upload videos. Keep up the good work!

    Go TEAM SOOTCH

  • She again responded with another question, "You know that its illegal to carry a knife in the United States?" "Especially since your a minor, then that would be even worse for you." at this point, i decided to flat out lie, and agree with her, even though what she was saying was complete BS, i just wanted to get my knives and leave. We ended up leaving all right, but SUPRISE no knives.

She was one of the rudest people i have ever personally come in contact with.

    Why was she working there???

  • @2142Unknown Well...that's gay. What kind of knives were they?

  • @nwall989898 Just some pretty gnarley lookin knives.

Army/Navy suplus shop workers seem to be complete asses no matter wherever i go. The FBI is putting insane pressure on them concerning terrorists.

  • So anyways, i saw two or three really cool looking knives that i thought would serve me well as a utility/defence tool. ( I am not of age to carry anymore than a blade, and wont be for 6 years ) and with my parent beside me, i asked the woman behind the counter the price of one of the knives. She responded with "You know you cant see those right?" i told her "Yeah, im not eighteen, but i just wanted to know the price" ***I will post a more comments to finish my story.

  • When i was in the misguided city of philadelphia to visit my brother in college, and me and my mother were being driven back to our hotel by a taxi after some sight-seeing, i spotted a USMC / Military store only a block away from the hotel during the drive, i told the driver he could drop us off there and we walked into the store. I was browsing for about 3 minutes until i went over to look at the knives on display under the glass counter. ***I will post a more comments to finish my story.

  • Thanks for the info

  • In case you didn't know Sootch, that hole in the canteen which you mentioned could be used with a straw. That hole is made to go with certain military gas masks. They can connect to the canteen so the water inside is not contaminated and you are not required to remove the mask. Long-time sub. Long live the republic. :)

  • @neacie71 *pound it* :)

  • Dont know if you knew but that hole in the canteen lid is compatible with us issue gas masks. I didnt know but makes sense, cant take the gas mask off for a drink.

  • What is the shipping like? I checked the prices with my localJoes army and they compare. - schmoo -

  • the guys at my local shop are fucking dicks too......doesnt help that im azn either....they thought i was charlie or somethin

  • Good stuff Sootch

  • how long do ya'll think it will be till wrol or shtf if ya'll think it's going to happen i'm not making fun i'm a prepper also i'm just wondering

  • @1991jarhead It's going to happen. It's not "if", but "when", and nobody but the insiders know when. America is flat broke, the only thing holding up the dollar is the people's confidence in it. While sheeple americans still have confidence in it, simply because they don't know any better, China and Russia and other countries who trade in US dollars have already lost confidence. Since that is now the case, the clock is ticking now. Stockpile like there's no tomorrow, cause there may not be.

  • Thank Sootch for sharing the data point. People will have to buy themselves to see if the quality of the distributor is correct but I appreciate the data point. Always good to have more options. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work!

  • Sootch00. That belt is an upgrade to the normal back pad for the molle rucksack. Those straps are meant to attach it to the pack frame. It "could" be used alone but the purpose is for the pack frame. Love the "major league sniper" patch, got one just like it. take it easy.

  • Sootch, as usual a great video! Don't let the ignorant deter you, it's sad you have to explain a term that has been in use for over 200 years. Keep up the good work!

I have the same situation, there's only 1 surplus store in the area and the owners are obnoxious to customers, because they are the only one in the area.

I buy from Battleboy, Cheaper than Dirt, Sportsman Guide and others.

  • i'm tired of seeing these commercials.

    unsubscribed.

  • everything tastes better in a canteen cup=3

  • i have one of those arctic canteens. I left it in my truck overnight and it was about 15 degrees and it was frozen solid. not sure if maybe i was doing something wrong

  • great stuff sootch! ill have to check out battleboy

  • Sootch I hear you on the "rude service" that you received in your local surplus store. I have received similar treatment at an indoor pistol range only 5 minutes from my house.

That's a shame when that happens because I want to support the local retailers in my community, but not like that.

I have recently used Battleboy per your recommendation & thought their shipping rate was a little high, but I received great fast service.

Thanks Sooch for getting the word out on these guys!

  • I'm glad he's doing this as a SERVICE to preppers. I don't care if he makes a dime. The reviews are for us and are well worth it. Thanks scootch!

  • I appreciate you clearing the air of the meaning "minutemen" and what it means to you..=)

  • I think skrimish airsoft helps to choose the correct gear for you too. Because when you start, you start out at the surplus stores. Buying cheap surplus military gear. Then once you start getting more into it, you start buying more expensive tactical gear. But you buy alot of different load outs and really get the feel of what works in dangerous situations and most of all, in your environment.

  • @neacie71 i wish he responds to messages,i have asked him several questions and never heard back,he doesnt need donations cuz he gets paid from all these compaines to do reviews of there products,or at least he gets the gear for free, but yes i love his channel, amazing free info, and he is very easy to listen to.hes a good guy,and i understand he prob gets many questions and doesnt have time to answer all of them.

  • @18wheeler76 I always try to answer my PM's so I'm sorry if I've missed yours. I can''t possibly read all the comments. If you have a question, send a message. Thanks Bro~

  • Don't need to justify your thoughts on the Team Sootch00/minuteman logo brother. Any real American knows the history of the minuteman. Also, loved the review! I am a former Marine from the 80's and those canteens will beat the hell out of your kidneys. I didn't even know there was a padded belt you could put them on. Thanks for your hard work!

  • Thumbs up on the "Minuteman" on the t-shirt. Just because some modern day fellows we might or might not agree with have co-opted the phrase doesn't mean it isn't the common heritage of all liberty-minded Americans. Use it proudly. Anybody who has watched 2 or 3 of your videos will know exactly what you mean. Good work, man, keep it up.

  • that staw hole on the canteen is a female adapter for the bio chem gas mask straw

  • is it available in new MultiCam (multi-environment camouflage pattern) ??

  • I used to live in my old Army Surplus store when it was around. When I was 19 it closed & they put a stupid Strauss Discount Auto there. It was a shame too, always had big bins of crap to dig through. Never left there empty handed.

  • Some might not know that hole in the canteen cap is for drinking with a gas mask on...

Please stop apologizing for the words we use. Screw the commies. Stand up, get in their face and tell them we're restoring our Liberty and they can like it, leave or die.

It's good you're doing something, but we all need to think about what is going to be required. It won't be fixed with a few election cycles. It's time to think Normandy.

Don't understand? Follow my links. Read the quotes page first.

  • @sootch00 Us folks up in New England appreciate the Minuteman referance. We know who the original Minutmen were and some of us still honor that heritage.

  • I love going to army surplus stores!! I go once a week. thats where I get my paracord.

  • Good golly, Ms. Molly! So many attachments.

Great video, need to check out the surplus stores when I have the time and money.

  • Shirt looks like nutfancy's

  • It's too bad that you would have to explain your intent and purpose for using a historic term that we all know what it means, so as not to offend liberals and illegal immigrants. They should have more common sense, or a better education, and more respect for our heritage and effort to uphold our republic.

When we restore our constitution, these people will be totally lost. It is good that we have all of those FEMA camps available for reeducation. They need to learn what liberty is all about.

  • @neacie71 Thanks for the support. "Knuckle Bump" started this whole thing with his last vid. It was about me : (

    He doesn't have a clue. Peace~ Sootch00

  • Whos he the duracoat master?

  • @BackpackerTom Thanks you my friend. I appreicate the kind words of support. You Rock! Sootch00

  • Great vid.i have all my canteens set up the same way for me and my family, love the canteen cups for camping. I live near you toois the army store you have a problem with the one in down town greenville SC if so i agree with what you say. some stores treat people like they are stupid.

  • @MrAk47master so what if he was a salesman?...i think sootch has great videos and they handle alot that nutnfancy doesnt get into....he is sharing invaluable information and source material....so...keep up the works sootch A+

  • @mysciencenow Thank you my Brother. I appreciate the comments! Sootch00

  • @MrAk47master if you don't like it than don't watch...

  • @jerseyjackalMMA Thank you for the support. my friend! Sootch00

  • it looks like all parts of the whole Molle 2 pack I got the whole kit on eBay for 85 bucks, pack, mag pouch, radio pouch, main and patrol packs with frame, waist belt, replacement buckles. still in the box

  • I think your minuet man's definition is a little different than Missy Elliott's. (In the "One Minute Man" Single) I keed I keed. My high school education finally paid off : ) American Revolution sure is a interesting and important part of history.

  • Unbelievable that anyone would need "Minuteman" or "Minutemen" explained to them!

  • @MrAk47master My last 3 videos were Shoutout's and the 2 before that were Long Term Food prep and BugOut Weapons bag.... Where's the logic? You're been listening to "Knukle Bump" and he's way off base. I don't ask for a dime or receive any money from any vendor, period. I'm not a retail store and I don't have unlimited funds. Do you? Please unsub.

  • @sootch00 Don't bother with the MRAK47 guy. He's a know troll and just out to cause problems.

  • @sharpie443 Lol. "known troll" I only said constructive critisism. Lol. Don't get all bent cuz I asked why he tries to sell everything. Lol. "known troll"... Known to who? Go find some of my "trolling" comments and make a video expossin me for the "known troll" I am. Lol. Thanks.

  • @sharpie443 Thanks Eric, He's already been blocked for being a troll. I don't usually block unless someone gets nasty. You're the man!

  • @sootch00 Please ignore the idiots, you have a quality channel...

  • @freakshow2000 Thank you my friend. Sootch00

  • a good army navy store is the one in Hyannis (don't know the name)

  • People at my surplus store are super rude also. I dont get it. Glad Im not the only one. All you people in sothern california... stay away from the army surpluss store in tustin off redhill. lol

  • "Returns will be subject to a 10-50% restocking fee (depending on the item) and return postage is the responsibility of the buyer. Shipping is non refundable."-- Battleboy Surplus. NO THANKS.

  • @ironheadgram I have never charged a restocking fee yet except the BULLBELTS because I have to pay a restocking Fee. I will cover reshipping if it is MY mistake, however, I have had people buy stuff, break it or ruin it then try to return it. If you buy a car then crash it, can you return it??? No, you cannot. Thanks for looking.

  • are you saying the British were tyrants during their ownership of America?? because thats absolute bull, the same could be said of America today, trying to cast its shadow over most every nation in the world.

  • Good vid!

  • That molded belt actually goes on the polymer rucksack frame for the newer rucks. Makes a rather poor belt by itself.

  • good video sootch keep up the good work

  • my army navy guy is awesome... he hasn't learned my name yet but he always remembers what city i am from lol. Vietnam vet too, a cool guy

  • army navy store is rude down where I live as well

  • Im still upset that my army navy store closed down here in sparkle city. Ill check out that site, have not seen it before.

  • @MrAk47master 100% agree sadly most good channels end up like this

  • Comment removed

  • I totaly agree that "our local surplus store" are rude and hateful and also too expensive. The old grouch in clyde in N.C. is a good small surplus store to visit......steve

  • I use the canteen cover as a dump pouch.

  • nice tee

  • The 10th of january, there is going to be a global boycott against youtube wich means that we are not going to enter to this page for the hola day so that the staff relizes that youtube is becoming a money machine and onley thinks about money in focusing in companies like VEVO (people who upload lady gaga videos and such) and not the users.

Thumbs up if you think it´s a good idea and put this message in every video.

(its not my idea im just supporting it)

  • i live in the wrong country snik snik

  • Hello Sootch! the black "straw hole" on that canteen is actully for gas mask's drinking tube.

  • battle boy charges three times as much for surplus ACU Molle gear! how can you recommend them to us? No Thanks!

  • @enscribe Lol. That's simple. Cuz he's getting free stuff/payed to recomend them. He's kinda gone from "fun gun revues and sensable survival" to a salesman on an infomercial.

  • @MrAk47master Agreed 100%; i see less information now, and more recommendations relating to retailers/brands

c'mon Sootch00, get back to basics dude...you were the guy who convinced me to buy a CZ-75b...

  • @Lvl22nerd is that not information? its good to know who has good prices and service. is it not?

  • Comment removed

  • Sootch, I hear you mention RAW in the videos. Is that an acronym for something?

  • @sogmanzulu

    ROL

his 'L' sorta sounds 'W' ish. and his 'O' sounds 'A' ish.

    its a southern thing.

    r.ule o.f l.aw

  • @ProthoPectore Thanks for the translation. LOL

  • @ProthoPectore A southern thing? Just becuase he lives in SC doesn't make him from the south. If you live in South Dakota your not from the south. It's just a corolina thing. Lol

  • @ProthoPectore I didn't say WROL (Without Rule of Law) I said RAW. Southernprepper1 started me saying that and it's faster and pretty descriptive. He's not from SC, but I am. Lol!

  • @sootch00

    wring my britches dry....

sorry bout tryin to put words in your video that you didnt really say....

i guess thats to be expected from someone who spent too much time growin up around pittsburgheese.

so back to sogmanzulus original question.....

    what does RAW stand for:)?

  • @ProthoPectore It's a term Southernprepper1 uses that suits the WROL/SHTF situation... plus it flows better that WROL! Lol! Thanks Bro~ Sootch00

  • @sogmanzulu

hes saying WROL- WITHOUT RULE OF LAW

  • @acromexicant ah, I know WROL... I thought he said RAW..... Too funny

    Thanks for the translation.

  • @sogmanzulu I didn't say WROL (Without Rule of Law) I said RAW. Southernprepper1 started me saying that and it's faster and pretty descriptive. He's not from SC, but I am. Lol!

  • Great stuff.

Of course until Canadian's booted the last Liberal government, the troops were using surplus literally until it failed.

I'd only use the belt for my Dog though.

I carry my gear on my rig, not my belt because I don't like pulling my pants up every few minutes.

I use a rig for hunting, don't hardly need a day-pack if you've put enough pockets on, and they make a great harness for attaching para-cord to and pulling your game out of the woods.

  • Im one of those guys just starting out.....Great informative video and you are dead on about the local surplus stores. Thanks sootch!

  • "I dont like being abused when I'm there as a customer."

We have a really bad gunstore around here where if they dont know you personally they treat you like a felon no matter how many times you show them your FOID card. The lady who runs the place told me that the Ruger Mini-30 never existed.

  • @IVSpod Sounds like a place I visited close to me between Augusta and Grovetown.

  • I'm right near St. Louis on the IL side. The store I'm talking about is in, near, or around Belleville IL.

  • We have two military surplus, one is very expensive the other is much better on prices, but he's got pretty dated stuff.

  • I am a University of Massachusetts, Minuteman. Ready to go in a minutes notice.

    Thanks Sootch. love your channel.

  • Do you remember....

    1. When you could get on youtube without a huge ad at the top of your homepage?

    2. When EVERY music video was from a user, not Vevo?

    3. When you could use it as a music player without having an ad in the beginning of a music vid?

    4. When copyright infringement wasn't a big deal?

    5. When it was YOUtube?

Copy and paste onto videos telling youtube how PISSED we, the YOU in YOUtube, are with their greedy corporate butts

  • Yes, this is how I Started, with MilSurp gear, late 80"s early 90's Desert Shield/Storm ALICE clip gear. The camel back is a great idea, as staying hydrated is very important.

  • Thats some pretty cool stuff man!

  • Ranger Joes is pretty good. Expensive but good.

  • Good stuff thx.

  • Sootch, you would be a good man to know in a sticky situation. Keep up the good work.

  • great vid man!

  • BLACKHAWK IS THE BEST!!!

  • My store charges out the ass...

  • I aboslutely love my Bull Leather belt! It's been a long time that I've had it and it has held up marvileously!

I used to go through cheap leather belts quicker than cheap socks and the cost of 1 Bull Leather belt is well worth the money (they're not that expensive) since I have zero stretch in it which was my main problem with cheap cow hide belts!

I want to buy several more to have in case I lose my job!

  • The crybabies who were complaining about the MinuteMan thing are pronbably on the wrong channel anway. I think the liberal diaper wetter videos are down the hall. What's wrong with these guys protecting the border from criminal invasion?

  • A good counter to the many Maxpedition videos you have done. Better to have less than spectacular quality gear and more money left over for prepping. After all, isnt it all about function anyway? The fashion police will be out-of-service during SHTF/WROL.

  • hey sootch, ever think about doing a review on the condor 3 day assault pack? it's great, lots of storage and tough as a tank. it needs more publicity, it meets the maxpedition qualilty and only costs 80 bucks.

  • I have tried many times to give business and my hard earned money to local stores for this gear as well but the servcie is always terrible, rude and many times they have very little knowledge of what I'm looking to buy, it's sad because I would love to support my local stores. So like yourself Sootch I too take my business online to sites with fair prices, good selection and most of all good customer service. If I'm treated well then I keep coming back for more! Stay safe my friend. -Tim

  • Hi Sootch, have you ever come across the EBERLESTOCK G4 Operator Backpack?

Couldn't find a review on YouTube for it, just wondered if you were familliar with it or knew much about it?

Thanks - keep up the great work man!

  • @cuntbollockswank I bought the Eberlestock G4 Operator pack--very high quality. I have it as 72hour bag and like it very much. The rifle area is large and takes up alot of qubic inches and can be used for many things not just a weapon. I need to do a vid showing my setup.

  • @MrM2hb Thank you for the reply my friend. I'm thinking of buying one. I'd like to see a video of your set up. Much appreciated.

  • Ha, critical placement of the suck meter patch on the Team America patch.

  • @aintgonnaworrynomore I noticed that too. I git a kick out of that :)

  • @aintgonnaworrynomore Lol! Yeah, I was trying to keep it "Family Friendly" : )

  • Ha, i was going to buy some stuff from Battle Boy and sent you a message about it. Now you uploaded a video about that. Funny, some kind of telepathy?:D

  • I run into those guys to. Rude and horrible customer service.

  • You wouldnt happen to be talking about the fella's down at the greenville surplus store are you? There is one fella who is a dink in there

  • @JGguns1 agreed it has to be that store! i always feel like an idiot everytime i go in there

  • @JGguns1 Yes I am. I started to call them by name but thought better of it. I'd rather give my money to someone who won't insult me. I think they took after their folks who owned it before them! Lol!

  • @JGguns1 That's what i thought also. very rude.
