Seriously awesome game. Essentially an existential-comedy oreo: a profound existential filling served between two solid layers of comedy.

Also packs my 2nd fav game soundtrack (after afterlife, another game by lucasarts) and visuals that remain timelessly charming to this day.

In my top 5, in no particular order are gabriel knight;s.o.t.f., secret files; tunguska, syberia 1. then my favourite 2 are longest journey (anyone who enjoyed syberia will probably love this) and broken sword; the sleeping dragon (called circle of blood in the original US release). With this one, the directors cut the put out includes a load of original content, with the player taking the role of another character. This is fun stuff, but I think the original verision is actually better..

A point'n click game that might be a little outdated but I remember being so awesome when I first played it: Phantasmagoria.

I remember how I thought the graphics was so realistic and everything was really creepy throughout the game, not to mention the music that had some resemblance to Carl Orff's "O Fortuna" (Carmina burana).

Last week I saw my GF playing secret files: Tunguska on her Wii. I watched her play and I was instantly hooked on the puzzles and storyline. I got adcited and ended up finishing the game in two days. She was not happy lol

Im obviously a newb compared to you guys considering my entry into the genre was Secret files...on the Wii !?! lol

But since then Ive already ordered Syberia 1+2 and am in the process of getting the Broken Sword series.

@MadyRoseAnderson yea its too bad the genre doesn't get enough exposure these days. Since I last posted, Ive beat Syberia 1 & 2. All I have to say is WOW! cant wait for the 3rd installment later this year!

I also just played & finished Back to the future: Episode 1 just last night . Such a shame that its so short though :( If your a fan of the series you have to check it out. It gave me such a nostalgic feeling :)

Best Point and click games are 1st person: Myst and Riven. 3rd person: Broken Sword 1 and 2. The Myst clones and countless Syberia/Chronicles of Mystery/Secret Files style games can't compare. (Though Syberia isn't too bad for it's original story and characters)
