  • Are you a retired engineer or something? COOL car, check out my electric car at jeremyjessbfam 1.64 sec @ 37 feet

  • absolutely, it was just for fun.

  • I pretty sure motors are highly illegal.

  • 0:28 i LOVED it haha wow that mom just wow

  • illegal transfer of energy

  • anyone else notice the baby at 28 sec?

  • @OMGimD3ATH Hah! nope...good catch.

  • skip to 1:50. the rest is talk and stuff. :{

  • Can you share specs at all - where did you source the parts?

  • WOW THATS UNAMAZING! Next time just put a model rocket engine on it. I bet it will do 1.2 seconds! Just have a bigger pillow to catch it.

  • if you put some wings on it it will fly :)

  • Wow that's a nice car! Very cool concept!

  • nice open classer !! that thing flies. I won our pack's "dad race" by a mile with my little F1 car, but this thing would dominate.

  • we have the exact same track and timing system

  • Love it! I built a ducted fan Pinewood derby car as well. It won the man derby class. Very simple and reliable. Cheers

  • Built by a seven year old Cub Scout....

  • Have you guys found wharf speed out yet

  • thats a nice car but its an illegal transfer

  • Not a clue what you mean by Illegal Transfer???

  • use co2

  • Wow, i actually noticed a lot of physics in that car! LOTS of mass for a high terminal velocity speed with slick aeurodynamic coating to slice thru air. PERFECT design!

  • lots of mass would slow it down in the beginning tho

  • no it wouldn't, thats a common misconception, all objects fall at the same rate of acceleration 9.8m/s^2. you're thinking of inertia perhaps, but that only affects an object if its powered by its own source (like a car taking off the line). gravity has the same "force" on everything.

  • yea it was inertia you seem to know alot about this possibly. which is better to use ducted dan or propeller engine

  • It just depends whichever one can produce the most thrust because there's so many types (assuming the weight difference is negligible for the inertia). If I could design one I would use a small turbine jet engine and have all the "BOOST" turned up before the car is released. I noticed in this case the fan only turned on when it was released, it should have actually been turned on before the car was released to give it a jump on the acceleration.

  • Oh yea, ball bearings for the wheels and a coating of Plexus (used on airplaines) wouldn't hurt! ;-)

  • yea i think ll try a propeller because my last race i used a ducted fan which the engine was running while on the starting gate. CO2 cars are the best when they work because my scout master had one it didnt work all the time but when it did it beat mine. how do you make these?

  • awesome!

  • nice car
