This is amazing, it is inspiring me to use the same camera to make my NYU Tisch application, though I highly doubt my film will end up anywhere near the quality of yours! I have a question...I am going to sound really dumb because well, I sorta am in regard to cameras (am a beginner!) but is there a way to record dialogue simultaneously when filming with 16mm? would you have to add in voice over? =/
@BlankySoSoft Hi thanks for watching. The K-3 camera is pretty loud, it would be pretty tough to record dialogue. There are lot's of quieter cameras out there though. It'd also a good idea to use a camera that takes 400' loads of film when shooting dialogue. The 100' rolls that the K-3 takes would be pretty annoying when filming takes of dialogue.
@SedgewickNYPK Yes, but the Bolex is C-mount so you need to fix up a lens set. Actually 16mm anamorphic glass is not hard to find, its sometimes tricky to fit it to a lens and if its a wide lens it will clip the sides. You can buy C-mount adapters pretty cheap, I have some Nikon to C-mount that have proven to be worth every penny!
@jessrocked I did the CC in FCP 7 using the 3 wheel filter. This video was shot on 16mm film, that's here the film look comes from. Thanks for watching.
@ryancglover Hello I am new to film and I was just wondering do you have to get the film processed after you take it out of the camera to get it transferred to pro res or dvd or is it transferred straight from the color negative? sory if this is a stupid question.
@helloimelliott Well, after the film is exposed in the camera it is not a negative yet, the image is latent, it must be developed in a lab to become a negative, then the negative film is scanned into digital and turned into a positive image, hope this helps.
@ryancglover yeh it does thanks. Its a shame I cannot find many companies to do the whole processing and transferring package in the UK at reasonable price. was the Canadian company you got your film processed with good/helpful? and do you just send money off in a package with the exposed reels?
@leespiderpod Thanks for watching! Yes, I bought it from Ebay. But from a US buyer and it had been modified and serviced already, I wouldn't buy one from Russia and expect it to work properly without service as the camera probably hasn't been used in 25+ years.
@ryancglover Your absolutely right there.I bought one from the Ukraine and it was missing some parts. The seller replied "I don't know anything about camera's, the owner sold it to me for some food".
Im selling some K3's if anyone is interested? They are great cameras. very versatile and stability is often very good.

Would it be possible to achieve the same thing with a bolex as opposed to a K-3?

@triceramovieboy The camera's mount has been modified to PL mount, it was like that when I bought it. The lenses are also in PL mount. Thanks.
