How is Vestal all volunteer in a town of 30,000 when you got places like Johnson City and Endicott with smaller populations being all paid? How many calls do you guys do a year, and do you respond to EMS calls?

I'm a Vestal Fire Fighter, so I think I can answer this one! We have been all volunteer for over 50 years, JC and Endicott are paid due to their being former Endicott Johnson Fire Departments who were turned into paid fire departments over time. Remember, JC and Endicott had huge EJ & IBM factories,

Our calls in Station One are about 300 a year, and that is strictly fire related calls, we don't do EMS at all.
