R2 may be krisp and clear but r1 keeps the white in, the pink in r2 is Highly annoying

IF we got the remastered dragon ball z dragon boxes and rereleased manga english sailor moon im sure the show nots that far behind besides funimation is constaly trying to get teoi to budge for the liscence hopefully 2012 is sailor moon and her silver crystal time to shine again :)

@wiiplayer9revisited Yeah Sailor Moons revival is sadly a slow one, I'm glad we have the manga back in the U.S. though, hopefully it sales well enough for Kodansha for Toei to consider letting these beautiful masters come to the states....my god these things are beautiful...damn u Japan for keeping all the good lclassic anime & dumping all your cheap ecchi BS on us! (& damn the U.S. companies for not trying harder to get the good stuff!)

these transformation scenes aren't exactly the best way to compare the picture quality, especially in a 360p youtube video.

with constant motion and lots of bright colors, it's hard to see if one is clearer or sharper than the other.

but if you compare individual screenshots from each... the R2 DVD look about a million times better, there's no comparison at all.

I thought that Sailor Moon Center used a filter of some sort to brighten up the colors - which might mean that the R1 and R2 actually look more similar than you think. I can't remember when/where I read that, so you'd have to look it up on their website or ask them yourself.

at the end you did a four framed one I really like The R2 ones but WizkidDreamer28 the slight red in her whites ( the moon, her shirts, gloves) do bug me. very pretty and worth watching. thanks for doing this but the red needs to get out of the white

I'll have to confess that I prefer R1 but that's mainly because the whites seem a bit purer and the slight red tint in her outfit bugs me. In the crisis transformations though it's R2 hands down no contest.

All the colors are richer, and the timing is different between the r1 and r2 dvds. The end of sailor moon's transformations are off by a couple of seconds with eachother.

@foshizzlin Well, the R1 is the original quality from Japan. After it was released, Japan was like "Omg we can totally make this look better." and they did. But America just kept it the same quality even after the DVD's were released. As the American's say "The cheaper the better". I semi-joke, but of course, without America, Sailor Moon probably would not be very popular in this part of the world. So I've gotta give them some credit.

@foshizzlin Yeah it's higher contrast, and more crisp lines. Making it better quality. As far as I know the R2 version has slightly better quality audio as well.

@LadyxHeartagram R1 = United States and R2 = Europe and Japon. I lived in France, and it's R2.
