@SuperKillercars This one did probably around 8/9L per 100km if you drove it with a medium foot... Its okay on gas, the Turbo EJ20's (or 'turboed 2.0L motor') is around i think 13L per 100km. And funnily enough I calculated my Subaru Outbacks fuel use today and it has the H6 3.0L engine, and that uses around 10L per 100 km...
SO for performance / fuel economy id say the h6 3.0L which can be found in a B4 RS30 2001-2003. But no doubt the turbo has that better performance.
hmm, not going to overly critical but why did you buy an auto, I can understand why you got a non-turbo model cause of the insurance and crap but man auto's are so bloody boring to drive, I bought a 2001 B4 sedan twin turbo with 5 speed the other day, sure it chews through the fuel but being a manual and twin turbo it really gets off it's ass, Just saying I wouldn't rush to buy the cheapest Subbie around is all. :)
@Tombstone416 Hi, yea it is pretty boring but aside from that it's an alright car. I wanted to upgrade to a manual but then decided to stay with an auto, if I can get a 3.0R manual i'd do that seeing as I want the H6 3.0L in my next Legacy.
@4tai Hey, sorry not too sure. But I know there are several clips under the car (back) that are like pop - screws and I think you take those off and there might be some others under the boot liner! Thanks.
I'm over here in Misawa Japan on the AFB, and they have a white 99 Twin Turbo B4 for sale at a dealership right outside our gate....I'm going to go try to buy it this saturday....I'm so excited haha...it's got tinted windows and really nice rims on it....about 80K so pretty new....their asking $6300 I'm going to talk him down to $6k if I can...if I get it I'll post some vids
Hey Matty good news.....I got my B4, and I love it. I was wondering if you could help me out with something though... I want to upgrade my sound system (HU, Speakers, Sub, Amp) and I was wondering if you knew what size speakers were in the doors and back headrest panel area of our cars. Their both identical except yours is non-turbo. If you could help me out that would be awesome...I would just rip the door panels off and find out for myself but I'm not good at that kind of stuff hah
@TheLazyFrodo Hey, they are 6.5" speakers, try to make sure they don't have any cones / tweeters poking to far out or they may not fit.
The rear deck doesn't have speaker fittings but you could drill some in?!
Ummm, one thing to realise, is that the bracket holding the factory speakers is useful for fitting on the AM ones. BUT, the bloody brackets are permanetly joint to the factory speakers so you need to be cut the brackets holding them and then drill your new speakers in. Continued...
@TheLazyFrodo To take the door off, remove the screws like behind the door handle, the arm rest (has a plastic cap over it) and slowly pull at the panel and it will pop out. There are little pop-rivets that are situated around the door! Hope this helps :D
thanks for uploading. I have been tossing up between a twin turbo or 250t or 2litre non turbo subaru. Thanks to your vid i think ill prob go turbo r 2.5l (need a bit more oomph for overtaking on open road) but they are all very nice cars. Cheers
Whats the fuel consumption like for the b4s per 100km? turbo and non turboed? cheers
