  • Whats the fuel consumption like for the b4s per 100km? turbo and non turboed? cheers

  • @SuperKillercars This one did probably around 8/9L per 100km if you drove it with a medium foot... Its okay on gas, the Turbo EJ20's (or 'turboed 2.0L motor') is around i think 13L per 100km. And funnily enough I calculated my Subaru Outbacks fuel use today and it has the H6 3.0L engine, and that uses around 10L per 100 km...

SO for performance / fuel economy id say the h6 3.0L which can be found in a B4 RS30 2001-2003. But no doubt the turbo has that better performance.

  • B4's for Australia are detuned to run on lower octane (98 RON )

    258 PS (190 kW; 254 hp)@6400, 320 N·m (240 lb·ft)@4800 manual

    239 PS (176 kW; 236 hp)@6000, 309 N·m (228 lb·ft)@4800 automatic

    Jdm Spec

    2.0 L DOHC 280 hp (210 kW) twin turbo H4 manual

    2.0 L DOHC 265 hp (198 kW) twin turbo H4 automatic

    JDM IS Better

  • 200000 k is not a lot of mileage

  • @jm357m No its alot of K'age

  • @Lesserthannone Yea in NZ 200,000 is pretty bad I guess. In the USA its good i hear.

  • lolol non turbo, no thnks

  • haha. i've the same headunit in my twin turbo B4. :P didn't know B4 can be non turbo. learn something new every day i guess. :P

  • @airiss15 Haha sweet. Yea you don't find many non-turbos around! :D

  • Hahah Su-bar-o.. Stupid kiwi's ;)

    Nice review though!

  • @westyy1993 Lol yea always a debate about pronunciation haha :D

  • @westyy1993 stupid americans

  • @bizziyebone haha they are stupid aren't they?

  • @westyy1993 Tsu bah Ru.

  • hmm, not going to overly critical but why did you buy an auto, I can understand why you got a non-turbo model cause of the insurance and crap but man auto's are so bloody boring to drive, I bought a 2001 B4 sedan twin turbo with 5 speed the other day, sure it chews through the fuel but being a manual and twin turbo it really gets off it's ass, Just saying I wouldn't rush to buy the cheapest Subbie around is all. :)

  • @Tombstone416 Hi, yea it is pretty boring but aside from that it's an alright car. I wanted to upgrade to a manual but then decided to stay with an auto, if I can get a 3.0R manual i'd do that seeing as I want the H6 3.0L in my next Legacy.

  • Check out my page for the videos of my 1999 Twin Turbo B4 :)

  • Hey buddy i wana replace my rear bumper on my 1999 B4 sedan ...... got any tips how to remove it?

  • @4tai Hey, sorry not too sure. But I know there are several clips under the car (back) that are like pop - screws and I think you take those off and there might be some others under the boot liner! Thanks.

  • Good video bud. also good to see no one has taken the piss either. Your just doing your thing. And it's in NZ so even better!

  • @SuperDdawg1 Thanks mate :D

  • hey im in auckland, nice video. iv got the turbo version and my insurance company aint happy. o well enjoy !

  • Hey dude.Nice ride.I have the turbo model & there is no doubt they are one of the best saloons on the market.

  • Thanks yea sweet cars, I think my next one will be a turbo legacy or a outback (newer versions) no doubt they are the tops.

  • ive just started looking into a b4 rsk twin turbo 2 littre. my insurence will be exceptible. but anyone know if the car itself is any good?

  • yea they are very nice and quick. The AWD on these cars are awesome too for off-roading. I'm looking at an RSK too, but 02+ model.

  • I'm over here in Misawa Japan on the AFB, and they have a white 99 Twin Turbo B4 for sale at a dealership right outside our gate....I'm going to go try to buy it this saturday....I'm so excited haha...it's got tinted windows and really nice rims on it....about 80K so pretty new....their asking $6300 I'm going to talk him down to $6k if I can...if I get it I'll post some vids

  • Sweet, nice choice, especially the Turbo model. Good price too! I use my Subbie off-road a lot now, but i'm gunna get an outback lol

  • @Matty231

Hey Matty good news.....I got my B4, and I love it. I was wondering if you could help me out with something though... I want to upgrade my sound system (HU, Speakers, Sub, Amp) and I was wondering if you knew what size speakers were in the doors and back headrest panel area of our cars. Their both identical except yours is non-turbo. If you could help me out that would be awesome...I would just rip the door panels off and find out for myself but I'm not good at that kind of stuff hah

  • @TheLazyFrodo Hey, they are 6.5" speakers, try to make sure they don't have any cones / tweeters poking to far out or they may not fit.

The rear deck doesn't have speaker fittings but you could drill some in?!

Ummm, one thing to realise, is that the bracket holding the factory speakers is useful for fitting on the AM ones. BUT, the bloody brackets are permanetly joint to the factory speakers so you need to be cut the brackets holding them and then drill your new speakers in. Continued...

  • @TheLazyFrodo To take the door off, remove the screws like behind the door handle, the arm rest (has a plastic cap over it) and slowly pull at the panel and it will pop out. There are little pop-rivets that are situated around the door! Hope this helps :D

  • those hands r cool i gotta get 1 lol

  • haha yeaa, but mine suck at holding my new phone (bulky)

  • thanks for uploading. I have been tossing up between a twin turbo or 250t or 2litre non turbo subaru. Thanks to your vid i think ill prob go turbo r 2.5l (need a bit more oomph for overtaking on open road) but they are all very nice cars. Cheers

  • Thats good, yea i'd prefer turbo but I can't afford to insure a turbo since i'm under 18 lol.

  • im under 18 to, but i think ill get like a 1993 gt sedan and just put it on 3rd party. man nice car for under 18!! id love to have an rs30 though...

  • thanks, yea my 3rd party only 20 a month, a gt would be sweet! RS30's do look real nice, I may consider one in a year or so.
