I used to hate Damon but I grew to love him almost as much as I love Stefan. He did all those things because he was hurting, could you imagine having a broken heart for over 100 years!? That would have to literally drive you insane. At least he is trying now.

I still like him, but since a few episodes - in my opinion - he's just pretending to be "the good one" - he's NOT "better" than Damon. He's even worse 'cause he denys what he is...

But she made it up to him in the episode after this one.

In this video she says "Trust breeds trust. You have to GIVE it to GET it". So when she went to his house he next day and told him she wanted to help him and he didnt trust her, she took off her necklace to GIVE him her trust, to show him that she trusts him not to compel her. And because she GAVE him that trust, he gave her back by putting the necklace back on and trusting her.

It's to be expected since Stefan has lied from the beginning. I'm certainly not a fan of his! It is so wrong that he keeps calling Damon a liar when he lies both to other people and to himself and still tries to seem like the "good guy". What a crock. Sorry had to vent.

@dangerrmcarly Yes, it's actually really beautiful how the 2 main themes and keywords for Damon and Elena's relationship are: Trust and Being Real. The writers have made this very clear in season 1. In the first season they built a trusting in each other and both of them want whatever relationship they have to be real, even if it's friendship - for now ;)

@MissLiverCool So true, unlike Stefan, Damon never hid his "monster" from Elena and he let her make the decision on her own whether to accept him or not. I think that because Stefan allowed a relationship with Elena even knowing that she was dead give away for Katherine and never being honest with her unless he had to in order to "protect" her will take it's toll on their relationship and not for the better.

This video is incredible! It makes me see why I hate the character Stefan so much! He is a disgusting lair and does it repeatedly with ease. Stefan is also a coward, he has never apologized to Damon for all the times he has crossed him. I was suprised by the way Elena lied to Damon, but when she went to him and said sorry, and truly MEANT it, I saw that she was not a bad person! I think that Stefan is a more despicable person than Damon.
