hi everyone my board is M4N68TMLEV2 cpu:phenom ii x2 560 BE i thought of unlocking cores but in bios i am shocked! Because it had 2,3,4,5,6 cores and said i cannot disable the first core!! Means i can unlock it to 6 cores?? Is this normal?? By far i unlocked it only to 3cores with stock cooling and ran prime 95 the temperature is 61 degrees. Anybody tell me if this is normal or not. If it is i am gonna make a video unlocking it 6 cores as soon as i buy a new cooler. Any cheap cooler suggestions?
Hi i got the same exact processor but mines OC to 3.8 ghz i was wondering how to enter the BIOS on a MSI motherboard. like what button do i press. thanks
Ive been trying to unlock my cpu and encountered some problems. first off does cpuz report a tdp of 143w when unlocked? because mine does and secondly when i do unlock the extra cores everything runs fine until i play a game like battlefield where it uses 100 cpu it will run for 5 mins then shutdown instantly. im wondering if im putting enough voltage or something. do you haev any suggestions?
Nothing it's just the differemt cores of your processor, if you want to unlock it to 3 cores and 0,1,2 is unstable you can switch it 0,1,3 . . or so i've heard
hi, i am interning to build a new system for a colleague of mine using this cpu model for its unlocking capabilities. my question is if the cpu gets a lot hotter at x4 that at x2? just to know i i need to thow in an aftermarket cpu cooler.. thanks
@cjpalmi8 Yes the x4 will be hotter than the x2 because it has more cores to produce the heat, although you don't have to upgrade the fan it is highly recommended as keeping the processor cool will make it more stable and make it last alot longer :)
i have the same proc and its working fine with only 2 cores...but if i unlock the other 2 cores do i need a better cooling system? i only got what they gave me with the proc..and i have an asus m4n68t-m le v2 ..i hope i dont mess up..
yeah you will need to upgrade your CPU cooler it's strongly recommended, as unlocking it incraeses to stock voltage from 80 watt to around 125, the stock cooler will stuggle to keep it chill
Hay people i need help with something i just bought the AMD Phenom ii X2 560 BE and unlocked all fore cores, with a MSI 880gme-41 motherboard but there is no temperature reading-when i unlock all fore cores, how can i fix this problem?

i have the exact same processor as you... your core speed is 3000mhz ... mine is staying at 800 mhz.. why is that? could it be a manufactureing problem??
i'm guessing your power setting is set to 'balanced' if your change it to 'high performance' (this is done through the power options in your control panel) you'll be able to see your CPU run at max frequency.
Is this somehow damageable for the computer? I'm getting my AMD Phenom II X2 560 3.3 GHz soon and I don't want my PC to fuck up the first day or other :P
i have no problems running this in this configuration, or have not heard of anyone having damaging problems with there computers or any sorts. however if any problems does occur you can easyily undo the core unlock in the bios.
@GumballBo Hi i have a phenom II x2 555 and i want to unlock the other 4 cores with a 400w codegen power supply can handle that with a 500gb hdd and a hd5570?
555 can be a little unstable when unlocked to 4 cores, d i wouldn't recommending doing so with a 400Watt PSU, as an unlocked 4 core CPU will draw up to around 120 watts, compared to the 80 or less watts it draws when running in the standard dual core operation. hope this helps
@262kk more than enough, but it depends on what else you have inside your system. If you tack multiple hdd and high end video cards etc. then I would advise getting at least a 500 to 600w to be on the safe side
hi man i have just bought this Phenom ii x2 560 and the ASUS M4A88T-M the bios is sligtly different, i unabled the 4cores, what troubles me is that i have to set the CPU Voltage at 1.33 ( i read arround people seting it in 1.30 up to 1.40) and then and only then my system is stable boots up and installs windows 2008 r2 server.(trust me the best stress test is to install windows)
so do you or anyone else know the Best Voltage for the Phenom 2 with 4cores unlocked in stock Ghz3.3 speed is??
i got mine unlocked, but now sometimes pictures on the internet look pixelated, miss colored, ect. u think u know what it can be caused from? im running stock cooling...
the possibility for you doin that is very high, although i'd recommend doing this with a something a little more powerful than the stock 560 CPU cooler. personally i'm using the Zalman 9700
Hi there, guys i have a MSI k9n6pgm2-v2 mobo, i can unlock the two cores with it?

@GamerGeneral99
The 6 core option showing up is just something to do with your motherboard, as only 4 cores actually exsist inside a 560 BE

After core unlock, the TDP is 95W right?
Kzsolti90 6 months ago
@Kzsolti90 no , TDP goes upto 125 W ,the main reason ppl cant unlock all 4 cores is cuz theyre mobo dosent support 125 w cpu's
