I guess my first response when Egoyan says it is tasteless in a place of war to portray a story of a relationship between two people is correct. But then I disagree. For how many times when I have had issues with others on a personal level, & I don't mean necessarily romantic relationships, when people have been abusing power, have I thought, "Here are the seeds of war & corruption". Because if everyone as individuals relinquished their need to abuse power, war wouldn't exist. Nice though.
