It's not superior to those who don't have health insurance. I know a perfect example. A friend of mine avoided going for Pap Smeers for 8 years. Now she may have cervical cancer. It could end her life and the treatment that we can't refuse her will be extraordinarily expensive whereas if she'd had Pap Smears, the pre-cancerous lesions would have been simple and cheap to remove.

It's not superior to those who don't have health insurance. I know a perfect example. A friend of mine avoided going for Pap Smeers for 8 years. Now she may have cervical cancer. It could end her life and the treatment that we can't refuse her will be extraordinarily expensive whereas if she'd had Pap Smears, the pre-cancerous lesions would have been simple and cheap to remove.

Many from the "left" claim that health insurance is superior in other countries, but they are the very ones who are trying to force it on us here. Ofcourse, they will make claims such as that :) However, in each country they allude to, costs are higher, waiting times for treatment are longer, quality of care inferior and patient choice is significantly reduced.

Wait times are similar except for optional treatments which generally aren't much worse. OUR costs are WAY higher than anybody. By 1968 Fannie's loan portfolio grew so large that it was weighing down the federal budget. What did the Politicians do? They Hid it.

2008, the gov seized control of these two companies. It resulted in $5 Trillion in mortgage liabilities they'd racked up moving right back onto the very same books politicians removed them from in the first place.

1. Close on Saturdays which would save an estimated $400 million a year.

1) Allow ppl buy insurance across state lines
2) Allow individuals to get tax credits for the health insurance they buy (much like the employers get today)
3) Tax benefits for doctors serving the needy
4) Stop insurance comps to lobby Congress
5) Reduce war spending and use the money here on HC
6) Remove junk state mandated premiums (like pregnancy check for a 75 year old woman)

Govt. managed HC plan in Britain led expansion of their system such that it is now the 3rd largest employer (after Chinese army and Indian Railways). Any talk about change to remove inefficiencies leads to talks about loss of livelihood/jobs. We DONT want to link quality of HC with loss of livelihood. It is incredibly dangerous to address healthcare at this time. Universal healthcare will be expensive in the first few years while it tries to make things work. If there was a time when healthcare should have been addressed, it would be during the end of Clinton's term, when the country was not embroiled in debt.

How much do Republican Business owners donate vs Democrat Business owners? Five times more. It takes our current government 5.2 dollars to distribute one Dollar and it take the Bill Gates Foundation .09cents to distribute one Dollar. Examples of "Big Business donations" Big Gates Foundation, The Crock Family, Google, Yahoo and the list goes on and on. The Company I own donates 25k per year. Small Business is America we are not all bad. don't need Government taxing the crap out of us.

No our money goes directly to the cause we have taken inter city kids with no hope, found them homes and sent them to college one of which works for me and now is a Manager. Are you saying you don't like Businessmen at all? Should all business be small? Do you really think that this administration will help the elderly with this health care bill? As for my state, Iowa, we have only 5.5% unemployment and there was no housing crisis here. One year ago your state had 4.5% unemployment rate and now is at 6.7% in November but since then is stabilizing but your right your State is among the lowest, but your land values are really low, Why? Maybe its because you have to many places like Grand Rapids with a crime rate of 1.1 times the national average, I don't think anyone has made money on real estate in your State. My state of California is a joke at 12.3% unemployment. Why? We do have the coast which keeps our home values high?

Healthcare is an essential service that everyone will use. If you dont use it count yourself lucky and be happy the only pain you felt was monetary. I hope America adopts a Single Payer System that is proven to be more efficient, more cost effective, and more user friendly.
Single Payer reduces costs for business and will improve American competitiveness. America will never be healthy as long as its people are sick.
