  • maybe a bit boring, but this is an actual tech talk ;-) this guy makes relatively long introduction, but then explains in detail how hg works, i like it.

  • This is a bit rambly, but interesting. I'd suggest you start watching from 6:50

  • I actually used SVN before Mercurial. I didn't even come to consider using any distributed version control until I started contributing on some Google project. It was then I was told I should make a clone of their repository and work on it.

I must say, it was all very confusing for a guy coming from SVN. Branching is a nightmare in CVS. Anyway, at the end my experience with Mercurial was so pleasant I started using it for all my projects and I strongly suggest my friends to do the same.

  • Unfortunately this is a bit boring (compared to Linus' talk)

  • @hasenj I agree that it might be a little more boring, but I actually found this more generally informative, and personally I think Linus is pretty irritating so this was much more watchable. Plus, I love hg :)

  • this rox

  • i tried it and mercurial is cool

  • I prefer Mercurial to git, but I wish his presentation is as inflammatory^W interesting as Linus though... =)

  • i love hg.
