I move over for splitting bikes as well all the time, if they are blocked in I just hit the shoulder and signal them to pass,lol. Hopefully this is repaid when I get a bike soon.

@Josh4energy I split up and down the 15 in North San Diego County every day for ten years. I very rarely saw anyone try to block me. Mostly, I imagine, because cagers very rarely look in their rear view mirrors, and you're past them by the time they see you. This guy is going a little fast, and more importantly, he's lane-sharing with several cars without a car in the lane next, which puts him in danger of a sudden lane change. There's definitely technique to splitting.

quick question man. don't know if you know this or not but I have my license and I'm moving to LA do I need to retake the driving portion of the motorcycle test or just the written?
I'm not sure but I think if you have a valid motorcycle endorsement from another state, you can probably just take the written... but i would check on CA dmv website.. dmv.ca.gov
nice ridin man...keepin that eye out far ahead so when someone does something dick you got it handled....they do that shit out here tn(that is what hard knuckled gloves are for), and when you pull up beside them you see them laughing cause they almost wrecked you. they have no idea how easy a side mirror comes off till they cage the wrong rider.
