what ever happened to unique performance are they still building these cars or did they get shut down?  if so is shelby still putting his name on this companys cars ? i do know he put his name on a few of their cars is he still honouring those commitments to these cars ? do anyone know if he has paired up with classic recreations for there 67 eleanors to put his name on them? any info is appreciated....

the real Eleanor was a 73 fastback. the 67/68 fastbacks have a desire on their own. i would not cut up multiple cars to modify one original fastback to make a movie clone. this is beyond words to make a millionaire happy.

I believe that if it wasnt for that movie most of those mustangs would still be rusting away in a field somewhere. In a way the movie helped save fastbacks that would ordinarily be used for donor cars. It also makes regular fastbacks unique and gives them a style of their own

now a company called classic recreations are full authorised to make these.

yeah, Unique Performance was taking deposits and not building cars so there was a big lawsuit and they got shut down.

These guys are no longer in business. They got busted for title swaping and taking the clients money and not delievering cars they were to suppose to provide their customers. A couple years ago a judge ordered Unique Performance to be shut down and all the equiptment and cars to the auction. Shelby in L.V. had since pulled their licence from these crooks.

If you are they are called hood pins. They are incase of an emergency and the hood pops up while driving.

did u know the oringal shelby gt500 is faster than the new shelby gt500 cobra in a straight line. (not sure about corners)american cars dont do hairpins only ovals
