easy. Intake, headers, off road x pipe, catback, underdrive pulleys, throttle body, get the factory intake plenum ported out. remove the emission bungs from the exhaust side of the heads, get a 180 degree thermostat, a steeda electric water pump, aluminum driveshaft, maybe cams or something to. then get a good dyno tune.
If its a stick you should smoke them. Being a good driver also has alot to do with it I have been street racing along time so great shifting is key =). The ones I raced 3 of them from 50-60 mph punch and I took off in 2-3rd gear quick shited to fourth and started pulling away quite easily. Dead launch It seemed pretty even till 3rd and fourth pulled away again easily. I am now getting Ford Racing heads, Ford Racing upper lower GT40 intake, headers, 73mm throttle bodym and cam..will let ya know
Sorry but a chip and exhaust doesn't equate to 40hp,25tq. stiffer chasis. I have owned a 04gt.. it had cai/93oct tune/exhaust. and it wasn't even close to what my 07 gt feels like with just exhaust. Now a 5spd 99-04 gt vs a auto 05+
The exhaust is not a restriction at any stock-internals power level on the 281 3-valves. There are blown, forged mills with the factory manifolds and H's with over 750rwhp. Replacing it at that point does unearth power, but that is also over twice the power level they came with. Im not saying that it isn't worth the money, but the exhaust is 2.5" plumbing the whole way and even the muffler swap is more or less cosmetic. Only the scavenging of long tubes makes much of a difference.
I couldn't find my sources before. One particular example is in the article "Waiting to Exhale" pg. 152 of the July 2008 issue of MM&FF. That car went from 779whp, 691wlbsft (on stock manifolds and H (with the cats bored out I believe) to 802whp, 714lbsft with the addition of a set of American Racing Headers. All these numbers were provided by a dynojet chasis dyno.

I have a 00 GT and all I got is chil/exuast and I am 5 for 5 beating them it wasnt really even close after 4th gear...3 from 50-60mph punch to about 110-120mph...the others from dead stop

but in any case, torque helps alot,it helps because it equates to a wider power band, regardless of speed.. Sometimes i miss driving around little cars like the 350z or maybe the s2000 for the driving, but the s2000 is a 14 second car, and does the 0-60 in 5.8 seconds; both statistics considerably slower than the s197. Oh and just to clarify, mach is probably the lowest of all the special editions next to the bullit...saleen,roush, and cobra all come with race packages; superchargers, etc.

Useless torque? All banter aside horsepower is a product of torque, look that up. That's why dyno graphs always connect hp and tq at 5250 rpms - it's a formula. So saying tq is useless is saying hp is useless. And one reason why a S2K might beat a mustang is it's a 2 seater light car that costs more than a 4 seater heavy(er) cheap model. Apples and oranges. Not to say a S2k would always win though - it's a driver's race with the new 3V GT's.

oh...Im sorry, you referd that the use of the honda's six gears = racing, that fact is no thats incorrect, the six gears are ment for gas milage meaning the top sixth gear is for highway crusing speeds, it has nothing to do with how fast the car can go. On the flip side, I do believe the Mustang would fair better in the mialage if the base models where fitted with a six speed transmission.
well, your partially correct. the 6 speed has 2 overdrive gears- 5th and 6th. the lower gears are just closer together. secondly, the mustang (any year) would not fair better on gas mileage regardless of gears because of the fact the engine is larger...larger displacement engines will spend more fuel.
true, however it be a neat experiment to see if it does, my Hypothesis is that the 6 speed transi on a regular Mustang GT vs a 5 speed transi will fair better in milage. I need to try that some day. they do make a six speed conversion for the new s197. once my stang is paid off. it looks like a roush but its obviously not supercharged which means it has the same motor as a base gt but its going to be heavier do to the larger rims and the bodykit. A supercharged roush would have walked away from the 07 like nothing.
I believe doodles is being facetious people. You have to read between the lines with some people although it won't be immediately obvious. A "real" Mustang, in some people's eyes, is not the crap that Ford started putting out post-aircraft carrier (read '71+) Mustang days up until 2005 with the "retro" style. I generally would agree because there is nothing terribly inspiring about anything in between that time frame in my opinion. I do sort of like the SN95 look though.

get a real intake... a K&N, magnaflow mufflers and that'll be pretty cheap.
if you really want some sound and performance though, get some headers.
If you don't care about performance and you want your car to be nasty loud, stick with flowmaster

easy. Intake, headers, off road x pipe, catback, underdrive pulleys, throttle body, get the factory intake plenum ported out. remove the emission bungs from the exhaust side of the heads, get a 180 degree thermostat, a steeda electric water pump, aluminum driveshaft, maybe cams or something to. then get a good dyno tune.

If its a stick you should smoke them. Being a good driver also has alot to do with it I have been street racing along time so great shifting is key =). The ones I raced 3 of them from 50-60 mph punch and I took off in 2-3rd gear quick shited to fourth and started pulling away quite easily. Dead launch It seemed pretty even till 3rd and fourth pulled away again easily. I am now getting Ford Racing heads, Ford Racing upper lower GT40 intake, headers, 73mm throttle bodym and cam..will let ya know

Sorry but a chip and exhaust doesn't equate to 40hp,25tq. stiffer chasis. I have owned a 04gt.. it had cai/93oct tune/exhaust. and it wasn't even close to what my 07 gt feels like with just exhaust. Now a 5spd 99-04 gt vs a auto 05+

The exhaust is not a restriction at any stock-internals power level on the 281 3-valves. There are blown, forged mills with the factory manifolds and H's with over 750rwhp. Replacing it at that point does unearth power, but that is also over twice the power level they came with. Im not saying that it isn't worth the money, but the exhaust is 2.5" plumbing the whole way and even the muffler swap is more or less cosmetic. Only the scavenging of long tubes makes much of a difference.

I couldn't find my sources before. One particular example is in the article "Waiting to Exhale" pg. 152 of the July 2008 issue of MM&FF. That car went from 779whp, 691wlbsft (on stock manifolds and H (with the cats bored out I believe) to 802whp, 714lbsft with the addition of a set of American Racing Headers. All these numbers were provided by a dynojet chasis dyno.

ive ran 99-04's with full bolt-on and beat them easily. im not talking trash or anything or calling anyone out, i really just want to race for fun. ive ran a 99 with intake, t-body, off-road prochamber, catback, ported upper intake plenum, aluminum driveshaft, and a tune. i beat him to the point that he went and bought an 07 gt 4 days later.

I am surprised. 1999-2004 mustang GT have 2v V8's pushing out 260 horse stock. 2005+ have 3v V8's putting out 300 horse stock.

I have a 00 GT and all I got is chil/exuast and I am 5 for 5 beating them it wasnt really even close after 4th gear...3 from 50-60mph punch to about 110-120mph...the others from dead stop

im not talking crap or anyting, but every 99-04 ive ran has been pretty one sided. i may be wrong but i think they made em a little quicker in 08. when i only had an CAI i ran a 99 cobra with headers, full exhaust, intake, throttle body, gears and a tune. i beat by 2-3 car lengths. and that would be making alot more power than a 99-04 gt with a chip and exhaust

im not saying all mustangs are junk. but for me imports are getting 13's and 12;s with stock v6's if i drive a V8 i want loads of hp and i dont care about 400lb of trq. that doesnt win a race hp and gears do. i do like the mach1 its pretty nice with a nice rev limiter i like cars that scream on top end. 350z is ok to heavy for my blood and after driving a S2k the handlind in the Z seems likea grand marquis LMAO the S2k is a blewnd of power and handling. but i like the sound of a stang

but in any case, torque helps alot,it helps because it equates to a wider power band, regardless of speed.. Sometimes i miss driving around little cars like the 350z or maybe the s2000 for the driving, but the s2000 is a 14 second car, and does the 0-60 in 5.8 seconds; both statistics considerably slower than the s197. Oh and just to clarify, mach is probably the lowest of all the special editions next to the bullit...saleen,roush, and cobra all come with race packages; superchargers, etc.

Useless torque? All banter aside horsepower is a product of torque, look that up. That's why dyno graphs always connect hp and tq at 5250 rpms - it's a formula. So saying tq is useless is saying hp is useless. And one reason why a S2K might beat a mustang is it's a 2 seater light car that costs more than a 4 seater heavy(er) cheap model. Apples and oranges. Not to say a S2k would always win though - it's a driver's race with the new 3V GT's.

Ts2k should be trhe stang out the shoot but the stang wins a lil thourgh like 60-90 and then after that HP, weight and gears all take place. peopel say trq wins races but in this case GT has 302lb and the S2k is 153lb. this iws why i say tranny "gears" and HP win races. and the S2lk redlines at 9000 rpm's thats is insanity. i had own and its simply amazing. i have a TL now and my god the TL can keep pace and can do bolt ons to achieve over 300 a tthe crank on a 3.2 liter. sickening. mach1 :)

oh...Im sorry, you referd that the use of the honda's six gears = racing, that fact is no thats incorrect, the six gears are ment for gas milage meaning the top sixth gear is for highway crusing speeds, it has nothing to do with how fast the car can go. On the flip side, I do believe the Mustang would fair better in the mialage if the base models where fitted with a six speed transmission.

well, your partially correct. the 6 speed has 2 overdrive gears- 5th and 6th. the lower gears are just closer together. secondly, the mustang (any year) would not fair better on gas mileage regardless of gears because of the fact the engine is larger...larger displacement engines will spend more fuel.

true, however it be a neat experiment to see if it does, my Hypothesis is that the 6 speed transi on a regular Mustang GT vs a 5 speed transi will fair better in milage. I need to try that some day. they do make a six speed conversion for the new s197. once my stang is paid off. Im gonna go play around with it a bit and see what happens^^...hmm I have an Idea...I'll make a youtube vid of it.

it looks like a roush but its obviously not supercharged which means it has the same motor as a base gt but its going to be heavier do to the larger rims and the bodykit. A supercharged roush would have walked away from the 07 like nothing.

I believe doodles is being facetious people. You have to read between the lines with some people although it won't be immediately obvious. A "real" Mustang, in some people's eyes, is not the crap that Ford started putting out post-aircraft carrier (read '71+) Mustang days up until 2005 with the "retro" style. I generally would agree because there is nothing terribly inspiring about anything in between that time frame in my opinion. I do sort of like the SN95 look though.
