I understand where your coming from there isnt positive things said About Blacks period. But the issues that blacks are face with today are extreme problems that needs to told not only to us but too America/World. Black Americans only hold 14% of the population but in jails and prison females and males hold more than half of the population now if thats not a problem I dont know what is. There are more single mother homes in the black community . These problems need 2 b dealt wit!!!
I did not like the programme, because it made no mention about Africans in America, we Africans are not blacks or African Americans, we are Africans and we have nothing in common with black Americans and I don't why blacks in America call themselves African Americans, because they are not, what's your comment on this issue
You say you didn't like it because it made no mention of Africans in American and you say that Blacks are not Africans. The program was called "BLACK in America." So why WOULD they mention Africans? I would like to ask if you are an American citizen because if you are you are what I would call African American. I actually know of a white guy that is from Africa but is now an American citizen, so technically, I would call him an African American too...kinda funny.
@adafoe1 I agree with you. I have no idea why blacks want to call themelves Africans Americans. My people are from Europe. My family does not call themselves European Americans. Its ridiculous.
@adafoe1 We call ourselves African American because our ancestry is from West Africa. You should learn how to wait your turn. African Americans (as I define Americans whose ancestry survived the American slave trade) allowed immigrants like yourself to walk and live freely in USA. Have some respect.
I would like to know your opinion on Black in America 2,I only just noticed this was your comment on part one, personally I liked both, considering black issues generally don't get much airtime on cable news except its a robbery or murder, you get my drift.CNN at least devotesome time so I give them props for doing it at all
I considered doing one on Black in America 2, but I haven't seen it yet. I recorded it, but haven't brought myself to watch it yet. Maybe I'll watch tomorrow and do a vid...
You know, I actually didn't see this program, but I have seen CNN for a few times. The first time I saw it in the States, I was surprised that they could consider this real news. I'm telling you everybody, beware of the media. There's always a hidden agenda to divide and conquer groups against groups, making some groups seem like they are always sub-par in order for those groups to believe it in their subconscious and continue the negative cycle. Good video. Thank-you.
Briget fine as frog hair.I will buy her all the computers she need. Why do she want to loose wieght ? Wow oh well calm down she probaly married.Anyway i like what shes talking about also and argree.
Yeah, I didn't even notice that. Its weird how when American had a problem with smoking. They put on the big campaign, used media, classrooms, changed laws and etc. Now, America has no serious smoking problem. But with obesity (which disproportionately effects poorer Hyphenated-Americans)non of those resources are finding use. Is it that problems that hurt minority-americans, not really american problems and not really warranting american concern or action.
I agree with you the program was focus more on the negative part of the african community, they mentioned the positive part briefly, they did not balance it. All communities in America have their dirty laundry, but the media try to make the African and the latino community dirty laundry looks worst than it actually is.
Not that I care about white peoples opinion. The program made others see us as a lower people even with the positive stories they showed. The ignorant, which I feel the program could be beneficial to, would not watch it anyway. The program showed little of why blacks was in the situation, and gave an escape to the people who put us in there.
I didnt get to watch the first part but I'mma try tonight.. I just put it on DVR matter of fact.. But the views you said are the same Ive been hearing from others.. I have to see for myself..
I feel you totally..The key I believe is for us not just to talk about it because although shedding light on the things and situations we are faced with is good..it is pointless unless we come together and create soloutions for these things..I think that it's definitely a start though..All of us are not thugs, and killers and whatnot..their are some genuine good people that are black..and unfortunately I don't beleive other races really...I mean really see that..
