Haram means forbidden in Arabic too. Forbidden & sacred are related concepts. "Sacred" places & things are by definition "forbidden" to be accessed by anyone and everyone when & however they please. The term sacred implies conditions to be met before a sacred place/thing can be accessed. Hence Haram Sharif is an appropriate name for the mosque surrounding the kaaba sharif.

I agree with u. When i saw the video of haramain salaat, i always thinking, why they do that?? Maybe they want to protect the imam. But protect from who?? Allah always protect the haramain and all the thing in there. They don't have to do that. But, i see that this is maybe an order from the royal king of saudi. The have to follow the rule..
