Damn, sitting in a car, putting on their hoodies.... they're as obvious as a fart in an elevator. Always dark clothing, which attracts attention.
How about walking carefree, with a cellphone to your ear in your other hand, talking to nobody, ready to slip the other hand into your waistband to fire?
Soon as you're done you put the piece away, walk off. Carefree.
Lol, someone who doesn't know. If you just smoke a nigga what are you gonna do? Go home, kick your feet up and drink a beer? Nope. You gotta lie low somewhere fast, and the only time you'll be able to move around is at night. Also for potential witnesses. Instead of saying some guy in a red button up shirt and blue jeans they'll say "A black guy in a black hoodie" which doesn't narrow it down for shit.
@veldross1 One of the best hitmen in Jersey was "Mr. Softee". He used to drive around in an Ice Cream truck. Any delivery or utility van would also do. Even pizza delivery.
I show up at the scene. I've got on my uniform. I show up at the house. I knock on the door.
The mark answers. I smile and say, "Are you so and so?". It's their next door neighbor. They say, "Nope!". I clip them with a piece or cyanide spray.

Yes, and when witnessing neighbors say that the last thing multiple murder victims did was talk to an ice cream truck guy it won't take long to get back to you.
@veldross1@veldross1 Mr. Softee got away with multiple murders. Nobody noticed him. Nobody would look twice at a Pizza Delivery guy, a UPS driver, or some sort of bogus "delivery guy".

so when that kid ran out the back door where the heck did he go? and the kid found in the closet later wasmy he wodnering about his bro? sheitt. chris and snoop are wicked
@queenieimpossible Honestly, I think it was because Chris agreed with Michael to some level. Sounds strange considering all of the people Chris killed, but Chris was the only one who EVER questioned Marlo over killing someone. Remember Bodie and when he got caught with McNulty? Marlo said he was snitching, and Chris said "we arent sure if it was that". Some murders Chris thought was questionable but he had to do it. He's probably surprised that someone else thought so too.
the difference between maro and avon and prop joe is integrity lol i know its hard to think of drug bosses with integrity but its a matter of scenario and the life you live. avon let cutty go when he wanted even tho he didnt finish the job, then called him a MAN. prop joe told cheese about the history of the family and how young folks had lost that. marlo never showed any sort of character that made him respectable. which is why OMAR name rung out even when he died. he had the most street honor
@bxjam85 Avon has his ex-girlfriend killed cuz she was talking shit. Also, remember the dead stripper in Little Man's house? they just dumped her body in the trash.
@BAGAKOOS Snoop is the most authentic character on the show. Everything about her is Baltimore because she is from there. She even did time in real life for shooting somebody who was gonna shoot her during an altercation they were having. Thats actually part of the reason she got the role as herself on the show.
Marlo was a lunatic. Avon and Stringer were ruthless but they wouldn't have gone this low. Marlo even had a security guard executed for merely talking back to him.
@NotGangster100 My bad. Just checked out the comment you were replying to. In light of that. I don't think Stringer was ruthless. He was just.... "Business Savvy"
@PhoneHooligans Make no mistake about it. All these dudes were ruthless. Avon and Stringer ordered that witness to be murdered even after D'Angelo had beaten the charge. The guy was no threat to them at that point. Not to mention the way they did Brandon, Omar's boyfriend.
Man, all the comparisons of Micheal with Omar are straight up superficial. The characters are nothing alike. Micheal is introverted, Omar is extroverted. Omar did it for revenge or sport, Micheal did it to survive. Micheal triangulates, Omar is head on. Micheal protects his peoples, people around Omar end up dead. Hell, Omar ends up dead. Quit with the lame comparison.
@misermania Michael isn't much like Omar at the start, but his character arc involves learning to buck the institutions, like the drug dealers he winds up robbing. By this point, he was already freer than Marlo.
This kinda remind me of the scene from Menace II Society when they killed them dudes who shot Caine and his cousin...How Caine started to question them when they was in the car, same way Michael does here. ODog is like Snoop, just don't give a fuck and will shoot anybody. While Chris is the OG, not as hot headed as Snoop but you never see him sweat or show too much emotion. He's like a constant. But he also is a soldier as well.
You get the impression that Micheal could almost see his little brother Bugz running out the building at the end. I wonder if the producers cast a lookalike on purpose.
"It don't matter if he said it or not. People think he said it." That means if you "real or fake" "good niqqa or niqqa that starts shit" If people on the street know you for being a "good niqqa" People won't believe that your fake or niqqa goes around starting shit...
@hiphopheadism Another idiot who watched The Wire and didn't understand it. You're probably one of those people who didn't like season 2 either huh? I'm pretty sure The Wire showed what happened to people like Chris and Snoop. Snoop= dead. Chris= Life imprisonment w/ no parole. Marlo= Out and his name is forgotten. I love the characters of Chris, Marlo, and Snoop though. They are fascinating. Chris is probably my favorite character on the show.
Chris said: " It don't matter if he said it or not. People think he said it; can not that shit go." This shows everything about this fuckin game. Just kill everybody who ever said one word, just to destroy the smallest risk; always beef about a couple of corners to earn some shit more.
I mean people dying because of that shit, even in real world
They need to start puttin these cameras in my neighborhood I'm gettin real tired of dropping to floor hoping that I ain't get hit by a bullet or two from an ak-47
"if Marlo know he aint suck no dick, then what the fuck he care what Junebug say? What anybody say?" I think this shows how Michael is mentally outside the institutions like Omar, while Marlo, who seemingly has more power than Michael is even a slave to his institution. He can't just walk away, he's constantly trying to hold down his power.
@drktigger I would call what Marlo is doing believing ya own bullshit. Everybody does it at some point in there lives. Some people start and can't stop or never even realize they are doing it in the first place.
@drktigger This is why Michael becomes the new Omar. But the irony is that his isolation from one institution would have him as an opponent and participant in many institutions like Omar did. Omar messed with the police and the drug trade, while still maintaining his own sense and code of honor. MIchael paradoxically become a part of the human institution by being mentally away from it. But this is just my counter argument.
@drktigger This is what Power Does to you my friend. Michael is a Born Leader.. He has no bussiness following no one except that he owes for the hit to his stepfather. The best thing for Mike to become was a stick up kid that way he can attack both sides of the problem head on lol! He became Robin hood in a sense. He is a Gangsta with Morals. Just like Omar.
@Deepking Mike is not a wanksta. He just wasn't coldblooded like Chris and Snoop. He had a heart and it was shown in this scene by not droping that little boy.
@vermonica snoop ain't just actin that's how she really is lol she served time in prison for murder so this kind of thing prolly comes easy 4 her lmao
@devyvalentino In all the inner city's they have those camera's ... I was riding thru a spot in Atlanta in the city an they even had them their and I thought "Damn this must be the gun zone cause back home in bmore thats what those camera's represented ... spots where shoot outs often went down ..
@MillionDollarSonHQ well i guess you think i am since you asked. The thing with written word is you can interpret how the person written it would say it....So Philly, has alot of crime...
Marlo is a straight for ordering the death of a whole family? Why not just beat um down but don't kill um for talkin crap. Snoop was right when she said Micheal wasn't one of them, he was better then them. Chris wasn't all bad either, he loved his family, he put there safety first always. Snoop seemed heartless, she was fully consumed by her occupation as a killer, but two things let me know deep down she wasn't 1.She let Powertool salesman keep change2.She wanted Chris' kids to have toys.Kind!
@KingestKon0780 if i was mike i wuolda said same ding u jus sed - y doesnt marlo just fight the kid shoot the fair 1 n settle it like dat i meean thts grimey for killin hole fams over stupid werds- i kan understand it diff if june did sumthyn bad to marlo physically/mentaly but werds was ment to fite not die
At first I thought Snoop was a Boy but the more and more I watch the Wire and hear her talk it was a her. WTF. But she plays her role to death. U GO GIRL
@TheVermonica - she realy a lesbo but she gotta fuckable body in a skirt/dress/titejeans all dat i mean i'd fuck her from behind pussy/ass but i kant see her face
This is the most powerful scene in all of season 5 because it goes deep into the psyche of a soldier. Following orders without question of a brutal heartless leader is the job of the most loyal soldier. The beginning of the scene shows an emotional side with Chris and Snoop on how they don't want to get surprised. Then it goes into what they really are brainless drones who do the bidding of their leader without question. This isn't just a show about the hood it is a show about human nature.
them not wanting to be surprised doesn't indicate any emotional side of Chris and Snoop. it just shows professionalism and knowledge of their line of work
If Michael was a cold hearted nigga like Marlo, Chris, and Snoop he would have hit that lil boy, but Mike had honor and respect for the citzens just like Omar did thats why I respected his charater
Marlo was cold and it may have worked for him to gain street cred. Though its stupid also leaving a trail of bodies linking to your organization. That's why Mike would've been better off at the Barksdale quaters where you'd have room to think. Stringer had classes for the mid level players. Marlo had Snoop and Chris shooting and shit...Thats why he never lasted.
This is the diff between the Barksdale shop and Marlo. Marlo shop just went way overboard when trying to send a message. Example the Security guard and the delivery lady in Old face's shop. All that profile will have the police on your ass every time.
same shit colvin bought into when he took the head of security job at sometown hotel
unfortunate he ended up getting fucked by the system he worked for all along and had to release some shitbird that was connected within the political game
"what a fuck he care about what junebug said, or anybody said?" Maybe Michael had a point. But see.. he did´nt born to the game. Because If Marlo let the soldiers talk bullshits about him, his power goes down day-by-day. Makaveli wrote, "the people respect more by the fair, whitout by the love". Plus, snoop´s a soldier, just doing what the boss order and dont question about. Thats why before her death she says to michael, "you never be one of us, always making questions". The Wire, OMG!!!!
@gauchebag People survive lung shots all the time. You could hear that he was still alive right before Poot shot him because he was crying and breathing in blood.
@montecarlomayne of course he was still alive but you really think he was gonna survive? nigga was always weak, he pissed himself right before he got shot
@gauchebag i didn't say he wasn't weak. but my point is just because you're shot in a lung doesn't mean you're gonna die mos def. Lung shots can be survived with pretty much no after-effects later. He was weak, shoulda got heat anyways. But I'm just making a point that if poot hadn't finished him off there WAS A LITTLE chance that he coulda survived.
@montecarlomayne@montecarlomayne there was NO chance he could have survived, he was up a flight of stairs in an condemned rowhouse, no one around to help and no telephone lines.
if you even payed attention to the show you would be aware that the only reason they even found wallace's body was because poot got a girl to call about a trapped animal
@montecarlomayne i see your point that if poot hadn't finished him he had a LITTLE CHANCE of living... the only time people survive lung shots is if they are rushed to the hospital and heroic measures are taken. if an ambulance is on the scene in <3 minutes you have a chance, but a tension pneumothorax expands quickly to cut venous return to the heart. the heart has nothing to pump and the brain dies off quick without blood. Thats what happens with a dropped lung.
Yo it all makes since why Mike became tha new Omar cuz him and Omar had Honor or like the decincy to know when eneoughs enough like wen Omar was young and he and hi bro robbed that guy for 16 dollars bt he told him to give the money back
@Theghot791 You're absolutely right. This scene most definitely hints at what happens down the line (Michael becoming the "new" Omar.) The Wire contains so many scenes in which Omar is about to cap someone, but then decides the person is innocent and spares his life (Brother Mouzone, Slim Charles especially). This scene shows Michael doing the same thing.
The only scene in which Omar kills an "innocent" man is Savino, and Omar dies not long afterward. Not a coincidence.
If you watch season four you see the kid running out the back door. then when the cops arrive at the house after the they find the the second kid hiding in the closet , after that you see two other children dead in the house. Whach the episode before you comment.
those r grown ppl tehy killed... if they killed children they would of killed randy...they dont kill children... chris and snoop put that child in the closet
watch and understand what you see before you comment...
Your still arguing you internet groupie. they would kill kids because anyone under 18 is considered a child but if you don't think they killed kids than they didn't win you win happy, now pat yourself on the back.
Notice what happens at 2:10 - Snoop cuts of the wire that reports the emergencies
Its a metaphor for the cutting off of communication and information thats going on throughout the season. With the newspaper's, Omar and Marlo, with the police department, even The Wire itself, everybody is deliberately cutting off communication to protect themselves.
@Wobbothe3rd dude shut tht shit up. all snoop was doing was killing the power going to that police camara on tha light pole. do u really think phone lines and other forms of communucation are stored in light poles? fuckn idiot. they must dont have police camaras where in your town where u live. but they all across chicago
This comment has received too many negative votesshow

Marlo is a straight for ordering the death of a whole family? Why not just beat um down but don't kill um for talkin crap. Snoop was right when she said Micheal wasn't one of them, he was better then them. Chris wasn't all bad either, he loved his family, he put there safety first always. Snoop seemed heartless, she was fully consumed by her occupation as a killer, but two things let me know deep down she wasn't 1.She let Powertool salesman keep change2.She wanted Chris' kids to have toys.Kind!

This isn't just a show about the hood it is a show about human nature.
atmchickluva 1 year ago 42
@atmchickluva i thnk this is a show about the hood but we are humans in the hood aswell
highnine9 9 months ago
@atmchickluva
them not wanting to be surprised doesn't indicate any emotional side of Chris and Snoop. it just shows professionalism and knowledge of their line of work
gauchebag 9 months ago
@atmchickluva
there's nothing emotional about them not wanting to get set up on, it's just the way they do things
but this scene shows how michael can't just take orders without question
gauchebag 7 months ago
michael did the rite thing because i wouldnt of done that shit either
Younginfamous4 1 year ago
If Michael was a cold hearted nigga like Marlo, Chris, and Snoop he would have hit that lil boy, but Mike had honor and respect for the citzens just like Omar did thats why I respected his charater
Louifie 1 year ago 5
Micheal was right tho
Mrking813 1 year ago
Marlo was cold and it may have worked for him to gain street cred. Though its stupid also leaving a trail of bodies linking to your organization. That's why Mike would've been better off at the Barksdale quaters where you'd have room to think. Stringer had classes for the mid level players. Marlo had Snoop and Chris shooting and shit...Thats why he never lasted.
mukigarang1 1 year ago 2
It's too heavy to carry to me. I can't take it. Killin a family for a word? .
flamezide 1 year ago
This is the diff between the Barksdale shop and Marlo. Marlo shop just went way overboard when trying to send a message. Example the Security guard and the delivery lady in Old face's shop. All that profile will have the police on your ass every time.
waveali 1 year ago 2
This is the point Chris and Snoop turns on Michael. If he didn't question, then Snoop wouldn't have went after him later in the season.

Snoop never really liked Michael to begin with, because she felt as if Michael was too objectionable.

@lildwayne21 it's not ironic because she isn't
gauchebag 1 year ago
"what a fuck he care about what junebug said, or anybody said?" Maybe Michael had a point. But see.. he did´nt born to the game. Because If Marlo let the soldiers talk bullshits about him, his power goes down day-by-day. Makaveli wrote, "the people respect more by the fair, whitout by the love". Plus, snoop´s a soldier, just doing what the boss order and dont question about. Thats why before her death she says to michael, "you never be one of us, always making questions". The Wire, OMG!!!!

Yeah this is one scene that needed to be offscreen, these murders were just straight up gruesome.
Whenever they need to "send a message", they always go overboard (Chris and Snoop).

Bodie didnt kill wallace when he shot him remember Poot had to take the gun and it was his shots that actually killed Wallace
kobesucks92 2 years ago 2
@kobesucks92 he would've died from the first shot it hit him in the lungs
gauchebag 2 years ago
@gauchebag People survive lung shots all the time. You could hear that he was still alive right before Poot shot him because he was crying and breathing in blood.
montecarlomayne 1 year ago
@montecarlomayne of course he was still alive but you really think he was gonna survive? nigga was always weak, he pissed himself right before he got shot
gauchebag 1 year ago
@gauchebag i didn't say he wasn't weak. but my point is just because you're shot in a lung doesn't mean you're gonna die mos def. Lung shots can be survived with pretty much no after-effects later. He was weak, shoulda got heat anyways. But I'm just making a point that if poot hadn't finished him off there WAS A LITTLE chance that he coulda survived.
montecarlomayne 1 year ago
@montecarlomayne @montecarlomayne there was NO chance he could have survived, he was up a flight of stairs in an condemned rowhouse, no one around to help and no telephone lines.
if you even payed attention to the show you would be aware that the only reason they even found wallace's body was because poot got a girl to call about a trapped animal
wallace wasn't surviving the first shot
gauchebag 1 year ago
@montecarlomayne a lung shot? you should google "spontaneous pneumothorax"; thats what happens when you get a lung shot
james040280 1 year ago
@james040280 i meant "tension pneumothorax"
james040280 1 year ago
@james040280 i already know about collapsed lungs. that doesn't even have anything to do with it.
montecarlomayne 1 year ago
@montecarlomayne i see your point that if poot hadn't finished him he had a LITTLE CHANCE of living... the only time people survive lung shots is if they are rushed to the hospital and heroic measures are taken. if an ambulance is on the scene in <3 minutes you have a chance, but a tension pneumothorax expands quickly to cut venous return to the heart. the heart has nothing to pump and the brain dies off quick without blood. Thats what happens with a dropped lung.
james040280 1 year ago
@james040280 Yeah. He was PRETTY MUCH fucked. Just making the point that a chest shot isn't always a guaranteed death.

Yo it all makes since why Mike became tha new Omar cuz him and Omar had Honor or like the decincy to know when eneoughs enough like wen Omar was young and he and hi bro robbed that guy for 16 dollars bt he told him to give the money back
Theghot791 2 years ago 21
@Theghot791 You're absolutely right. This scene most definitely hints at what happens down the line (Michael becoming the "new" Omar.) The Wire contains so many scenes in which Omar is about to cap someone, but then decides the person is innocent and spares his life (Brother Mouzone, Slim Charles especially). This scene shows Michael doing the same thing.
The only scene in which Omar kills an "innocent" man is Savino, and Omar dies not long afterward. Not a coincidence.
krishnm 1 year ago
@krishnm
you can't say savino is "innocent" and not say that stinkum wasn't "innocent" when omar lit him up

Detroit is more dangerous per capita. Only slightly though. 48 vs 45 per 100,000 people murdered. That's about 400 in Detroit vs 280 in Baltimore.
Wonder if someone could do a count of how many people get murdered in The Wire?
