  • I sing this often at Sunday Mass...I love it... gives me a lovely feeling while singing.

  • Where do you get this song from?

  • I have been singing this for a long time. Originally I got it from a hymn book then Bishop Daly in my home town gave me all the details which you will find in the information top right.

  • anyone know the piano or guitar chords for this beautiful song?

  • ...and the melody was written by Sean Og O Tuama, so is still in copyright...

  • Actually, this melody is around 50 years old. The text is old.

  • do you know how these lyrics translate into English?

  • GORGEOUS!! bravo from a young Irish American!!

  • Thank you! I love this hymn. It is so lovely to sing.

  • Magnificent song and voice !!

We presume this melody inspired La Lugh in "Senex puer" ! Phalaina

  • beautiful, but this also has a dark history, when songs like this were made in roman times the christian followers killed many innocent pagan peoples just becaus they would'nt convert!

  • Not to justify those horrible acts, but still, the pagans used to kill christians as well. I do not say that that justifies the killing, but it gives some insight into the problem

  • what do you mean christian followers killed

  • Stunningly beautiful..

  • Absolutely lovely. You voice comes through with such presence and beauty on this hymn.

  • Thanks Bill. This is such a lovely hymn to sing...it has great simplicity and a lovely vocal line. Ishould have the translation in a couple of days. It is mainly asking God for help.

  • Simply stunning, thank you for sharing this!

  • Thank you for listening and thank you for your comment. I often sing this beautiful hymn at Mass on a Sunday morning.

  • Beautiful!!!
