  • Lee Ving for President 2012!!

  • dandelionsniffer stfu! are you seriously trying to bash the decline of western civilization, who the fuck died and made you roget ebert? i think youve seen slc punk one to many times

  • i get to see these guys in 2 months at sxsw..soooooo pumped!

  • I LOOOOOOOOOVE LISTENING TO THIS FUCKIN SONG

  • the intro is like the alternative to the lion king intro :p

  • I heard Wasted, Uncommon Valor, Stripes and now this : )

  • and WHY the fuck are we talking about slc punk anyway? if you heard this song for the first time when steve-o was giving his monologue about poseurs then YOU are one. you can't enjoy a good movie OR a good song. get fucked.

  • Im just a little farm boy from North Dakota, me and my band moved to Minnesota, where, after we got situated, played our first gig, and this was our opening song haha

  • @Theunforgiven120 Haha do you know the small town of grafton? I lived there for a while, moved to grandforks, and now live in minneapolis.

  • @AQganon Yeah man, fuckin A NoDak haha. Me and the group are in the process of going to Boston now, all we need is a place out there and were set. I still fucking miss ND though, even if it blows more dick than a gay man

  • @ heavyhebrew you missed the point of slc punk . the statement they were trying to make is that sometimes the most non conformist (punk) thing you can do is to conform. evrey one has to grow up sometime any one i know who is still punk in there 20s is just a ignorant ass who is just trying to prove something to evrey one. that being said once a punk always a punk you can be a lawyer and be apunk because punk is a state of mind not a fashion style

  • @sativascience Couldn't have said it better. Punk is a complete state of mind.

  • @sativascience Nice spelling and grammar, dumbass. Punk is a LIFESTYLE, not a state of mind, and not a fashion style. You cannot be a sellout lawyer and be a punk. You cannot be a conformist and be a punk. SLC Punk is a bullshit movie made by douchebags who want to make sissy punkish types feel better about liking "punk" music but not walking the walk; not standing up against bullshit and lies.

  • @sativascience It's the Hot Topic version of a punk rock movie. Which means it's 80% bullshit; 20% good. Don't pretend it's anything epic or meaningful, please.

  • (SLC Punk, that is)

  • @dandelionsniffer so what youre saying is punk is about spelling and grammar? and i never said it was epic but it was meaningful to different people for different reasons. I personaly dont associate this song with the movie because I knew the song way before slc ever came out. However this song and the charecters in the movie both remind me of experiences and people in my life. this song was a favorite of my brother who passed away. a punk without a job is a bum.

  • @sativascience Not at all! WRITING is about spelling and grammar. Punk was about not conforming. Getting a job is not necessarily conforming, but buying into the bullshit system that most punks fought to resist and stand against IS conforming. Thus, unless you're a lawyer defending people who are getting persecuted by the oppressive government, you're a conformist supporting a system that most punks are against.

  • @dandelionsniffer Of course, I'm full of shit because punk is whatever you want it to be whenever you want it to be, as long as YOU are making YOUR OWN choices and not letting society or someone else (even some asshole like me) dictate who you are.

  • @sativascience Yeah- I've loved this song since WAY before that trite movie was made. I had forgotten it was even in the film until I looked the video up to hear it on this site, and read the comments praising the movie. The movie particularly annoys me since I *was* a punk living in SLC at one time, and that movie only reflects a punk experience for rich white kids w/security nets at home for when they get tired of the challenges of being a punk living in poverty. OG punks were poor and ugly.

  • This reminds me of a cross between the Dead Boys and Misfits.

  • i fucking love this song, heard it thousands of time cause of games though...

  • @kisame500 I first heard this on tony hawk skate park game...ever since I have been wanting this song.

  • LA SOUTH BAY!

  • When I hear this song it reminds me of slc punk

  • I have yet to see SLC Punk! I want to really badly. D: But anyway, great song. <3

  • By the way, this guys were on "Saturday Live Night", amazing.

  • @TheJinjo75 Because of John Belushi's recommendation. John Belushi became much cooler in my eyes when I found that out.

  • the warriors

  • Warriors!

  • SLC Punk brought me here, too

  • @MRxLOKI WTF is SLC Punk?

  • @TheJinjo75 a movie at about kids trying really hard to be punks

  • @TheJinjo75 an entertaining movie, but dumbass little kids use it as a guidebook for everything.....so i kinda hate that movie..

  • @tsadavid4205000 YES i definatley agree even though I loved the movie

  • hey they made a video game after these guys :)

  • the closest thing to a love song that you can find in true punk rock

  • But the suburban scumbags the don't care, they just get fat and dye their hair.

  • I love it too!!!

  • an awesome classic

  • no wonder flea left

  • @Tim47007 hahahahahahahahah xD

  • THE WARRIORS!

  • 5 ppl have crabs crawling on there balls

  • @323AuTo323 so do you

  • @NotQuiteLucid dry

  • @NotQuiteLucid i know it suks

  • Melbourne/Australia FTW mates :D

  • This song makes me want to beat the f%&# out of the Turnbulls A.C.'s .

  • CRAAAAbs crawling on my balls!

  • CAN YOU COUNT SUCKERS!!

  • this makes me think of that video game the warriors

  • My house smells just like a zoo its chock full of shit and puke!

  • @MetalheadDude69 go clean your house dip shit and then when you are finished you can come and clean my house.make sure you wear that dress thats tight on your ass becouse after wards you know im going to be balls deep in your rectum

  • @6millionlies14 Learn how to spell "because" dumbfuck, before I come over and teach you a thing or two about spelling and adopt you as my bastard son!

  • @skatesforalmost that it is

  • crabs crawlin' on my balls :)

  • THUG 2!

  • 4 people dont like living in the city

  • Punk hasn't pure since the 80's. It's been a nostalgia trip ever since.

  • This isn't punk, punk is BRITISH. The american one is fuckin' hardcore. Big difference man.

  • @Strummer90 Shut the fuck up!

  • @Strummer90 so you are saying the ramones aren't punk? their from new york?

  • @Strummer90 - You don't know what you're fucking talking about. The Ramones invented punk. Along with the whole NYC - CBGB's crowd. All the people who'd later form bands like the Sex Pistols, the Clash, the Damned, etc. they saw the Ramones 4th of July 1976 in London and were so inspired they started their own bands. Learn some fucking truth -- and stop disgracing great man whose name you've appropriated with your ignorance and nationalist chauvenism.

  • @paulparanoid you blame someone over chauvinism yet you claim punk as american.....meanwhile we're discussing rock'n'roll over a computer....

  • It's the Turnbull ACs.....

  • @Dwarmin awesome fuckin movie

  • punk-nuf said

  • There just isn't anything like this anymore! BRING IT BACK!

  • the movie SLC Punk reminded me of this song. you guys should check it out, its a great movie.

  • @skatesforalmost ...it really isn't. There are plenty of good punk movies out there (Repo Man, Suburbia, pretty much every Troma movie) and SLC punk isn't one of them. It basically says that punk is just a phase you grow out of before you get a real job... unless, of course, you aren't some rich kid who can get into Harvard.

  • @Jaliband thats what makes it great. its true that you cant live your life just sitting around. you eventually will have to do something.

  • @skatesforalmost That's not my issue with the film. If this kid has that much of a perfect life, why is he pretending to be some poor punk. Sure, go to the gigs and listen to the music but every time he said "poser" I wanted to kick his teeth in.... I mean its Matthew Lillard so I kinda wanted to kick his teeth in anyway, but that just made me want to even more.

  • @skatesforalmost Who sez??!

  • @skatesforalmost haha same, what a film, and what a fucking song;)

  • @skatesforalmost fuck ya SLC punk FTW!!!!!!!

  • @skatesforalmost u should cheak out suburbia not suBurbia tht ones gay but just suburbia its a lil more old school sqwatter punk so if u liked slc punk ud prob like this

  • @skatesforalmost I watched that tonight!

  • @skatesforalmost I love that movie

  • @skatesforalmost love that movie! its my fav

  • @skatesforalmost SLC punks was garbage. That movie is what made punk even more trendy.

  • @YourDudeness909 Oh SLC Punk where he sells out the ideals of free thinking diy movement so he can go to law school and make big bucks like daddy?

Fuck that movie. Suburbia was a real punk movie. Not some lameass its ok to sell out for money bs like SLC Punk.

  • @heavyhebrew Suburbia is an amazing movie. It saw it for the first time about 7 months ago and in effected me deeply. I have seen it about a dozen or so times since. Its become one of my favorite movies of all time. slc punk is a piece of shit. Your typical mtv mall bitches who think they're punk will love that one. But the ones who truly carry Punk in their hearts will appreciate Suburbia!

  • @heavyhebrew ain't that the truth? i found slc punk to be a pandering piece of shit: rather like that hot topic garment chain in america, slc punk sold style over substance to the consumer. and, let's face it, using corporate jargon is completely appropriate in this case, given the nature of both aforementioned store and movie. also, it's a good idea to note that it's penelope spheeris' 'suburbia', since some jackass had the gall to make a 'gen x' flick in the '90's, with the same name.

  • @heavyhebrew Don't take this to offense, I'm not a punk, but does that mean being punk is not being able to make a living for yourself? Not like, for the music and the people around you?

  • @heavyhebrew slc punk actually had a good message, anarchy is a fuckin waste of time. it's just beating your head against a wall till you wake up on a street corner like fuck i guess I do need to get a job after all. i miss food.

  • @heavyhebrew Well you missed the entire point of the movie then.

  • @heavyhebrew I agree that the end of that movie is kind of shitty, but he didn't sell out to make money. When his friend died, he didn't know where else to turn. He realized that there was more to life than humping cheap thrills and living in shitty apartments. It focuses on how the punk scene is temporary, although the feeling and power of the scene is forever.

  • @heavyhebrew i just hate that cunts that on every punk video tell is it real or not , fuck off , who are you to talk like that

  • @heavyhebrew the movie was about the fact that the majority of "punks" and people who were free thinkers and "anarchists" when they were younger usually end up abandoning those ideals because of the experiences they inevitably go thru in life which cause them to rethink their philosophy on life and their entire belief system. hence when stevo says "what do you do when your foundation falls apart? idk they dont teach you that in school"

  • @heavyhebrew SLC PUNK was a good movie but verry hypocritical, & one sidded.

  • @heavyhebrew you know SLC was a mockumentery right?

  • @grantiemuffin More like a cliche wanna be mockumentry. I think they calle dit a mockumentry after the film bombed. too late now eh?

  • @heavyhebrew What? SLC Punk was about how he discovered his whole punk philosophy was a crock of shit. Suburbia is about post-card punks. Either way, both movies are full of pseudo-punks.

  • @heavyhebrew you obviously missed the point of the movie

  • form What SLC taught me.

Punk is a state of mind.

well greend day did sell out.

but cmon their old shit is a good as this

never compare green day to like great bands flike ramones sex pistols ands shit but man shit changes over time

    like rap and hip hop

used to be about surviving the streets and respect

now its about money and bitches and lil wayne going to jail

  • @migogc Punk rules, rap was always about some lowlife's ego, gold, women and money

  • its been hard to find bands this good in the last 20 years!!

  • que chingona cancion recuerdo los 80s cuando era bien pinche punk rocker que viva el punk

  • When I listen to this it makes me want to play The Warriors, throwing bricks at Birdie the cripple.

  • That city sounds like LA...

  • @halfstack412 yea..

  • I got the original album version on my channle if anyones interested- all the otehrs ones are live sersons which is cool but i though that the album version should be up here too

  • THERE USE TO BE A MUSIC SHOP, IN THE BACK, A SMALL ALLEY VENUE TO PLAY INDIE-PENDENT BANDS. THE BANDS PITCH FOR CITY PERMITS, THE FANS WILL PAY TO HANG THERE. THE FRONT WAS FULL OF REAL MUSIC TOO. NO BEER AND NO ONE UNDER 18, JUST GOOD TIMES AND MUSIC.

I MISS THAT SHOP. THE LAST ONE, IT WAS CALLED.

  • Agrred greenday isnt punk thats emo queer shit. SLC Punk a dress code doesnt make you punk its how you feel inside i dress like a prep in school but inside i hate that shit im a rebellious dont give a fuk kinda person just gotta realize the system is all of us we cant break what we all are just make worm holes in it

  • i sing this song to myself everyday while skating downtown.

  • @kompresor321 Not only that, but you can dance to it!

  • Punks not dead, You're not looking hard enough.

  • I LOVE livin in FEAR!!!

  • I like livin in FEAR!!!

  • I LIKE punk.

  • who kicked ass to this song in the warriors

  • punk has gone corporate. the companies have commodified and institutionalized our healthy rebelliousness and turned it into yet another officially sanctioned mode of expression. punk now is not socially or politically rebellious or challenging. wake up. YOU ARE NO THREAT TO ANYONE.

  • my parody to this song.."I love gettin drunk and shitty!"

  • @OregonPunkOi HAHA. LOL

  • hahah reminds me of the warriors

  • greenday is not punk...where do you get your music?! from mtv and that shit???

  • ramones, sex pistols, etc etc was the punk in 70's, green day are the "punk" now.

the punk is changed, and this is normal, everything change during years.

    sorry 4 my english.

  • @182blinkinpark punk cant change. it does not exist. a state of mind in ones self cannot be created it just is..............damn intelectual punk rockers

  • @182blinkinpark green day is pop, duuuuh

  • fuck greenday listen to real punk

  • you know its a real punk video when theres people bitchin about green day under it.

  • two thumbs up and a bottle of beer to this band. cheers to FEAR!!!

  • Odd, to hear a chorused almost clean rhythm guitar on a classic punk rock track. If there is a missing linq betwixt alternative and punk, this would be it.

  • i love this man

  • This is awesome, the fuckin "Parental advisory" on this makes me laugh. Fuck "Parental Advisory" there willing to show us half naked chicks on MTV but they want to censor to music that actually means something and has a point, power hungry jerks that they are.

  • yea there must be sumbody from velvet underground in this band

  • I think all of us old punk rock boys need to get together and start a band...haha! All the old boys start a new revolution.

  • god i miss the good music days uremember when punk was awesome in th 80's and grunge was cool in the 90's? well now its the 2000's and all the music now adays sucks ass and there all just posers who say there punk when we all knoow they probably just dress like a punk because all other groups rejected them so they joined the punk rock posers group. where im going with this is the only good timeperiod in music was 60's-1999 now everything playing now just flat out sucks

  • i thought this was velvet underground

  • it kinda sounds like lou reed a bit.

  • @Striker2789 what? why? i don't mean to be a prick but your comment made me laugh.

  • I love livin' in the city.

  • Comment removed

  • ^^your're an idiot. stop talking

  • This shoulb be on EVERY gta.

  • @Scike I don't really think this type of music has ever been popular enough, err, well, lemme rephrase that, I don't think these bands have ever wanted to be on the radio because that means you censor what you say. I am pretty sure back then it was more like "Underground FTW!" Pretty sure that's how it was, because that is how it was where I grew up.

  • I Fuckin' Love Livin' in the City

  • this shouldev been on the soundtrack on gta vice city

  • Fuck, why can't music sound like this anymore!? Back when punk was real and not the horseshit you see on MTV and hear on the radio these days. So few awesome bands left.

  • Because people got lazy and stopped making bands, it's a lot easier to listen to music then make an actual band

  • @Scike word.

  • punk is still here it has just gone underground if you want music like this do what the kids are doing no MAKE YOUR OWN

  • @berdoDRUNK

Too true. Used to be pretty involved in the underground punk/ska/psychobilly scene. Not so much these days, but every once and awhile a good band comes out of nowhere that I follow.

  • yeah man

  • @Scike Fuck yeah itsa a shame none of these brainless, dickless, retarded, faggot, morons stand for anything but the meaningless veneration of people who were'nt afraid to be who they were and stand for something. I guess they are oblivious to the insult of their hypocrisy. Shameless turd monsters.

  • @Scike does mtv even play music? are you from fuckin 1998 bitching about this shit? everyone knows what real punk is, quit crying about mtv, you emo pussy

  • @hobo4lyfff - Everybody but you, you mean. Eat my asshole poseur.

  • @Scike im not punk, i dont claim to be. and as for you being emo, youre a crying little baby. wah wah my scene is dead! good, i hope you die just like your music

  • @Scike haha i love listening to people bitch! its funny. Im not on either of your sides but dude this shits funny youtube arguments are great and then i totaly diss them so people will argue some more :D keep it up everyone!

  • @Xzone256 Well usually I give people one or two replies then I lose interest.

  • @Xzone256 yeah but i love livin in the city!

  • @hobo4lyfff Oh and, bitching about me saying shit about MTV? And you call me emo? hahaha, fuck you.

  • @Scike toy dolls :)

  • @Scike Punk should not be played on MTV or on the radio...unless you like shitty music. Fear was raw and powerful and vulgar.

  • @Scike punk was never on any radio I know of.
