they like him because he is exciting to watch against guys who will stand and bang with him. His athleticism and sheer power makes him a threat to anyone on the feet, however he got exposed against silva, BADLY. He would have been GREAT at UFC 1 though! haha also he is a really nice guy, a single dad, so people respect him for that. But he needs to go to BJJ class!

Back when I posted that comment (1 year ago). They both burst onto the scene, then quickly faded away. Gonzaga not so badly as he picked it up a little bit. It was a valid point. Really, it should have read: Houston Alexander = Gabriel Gonzaga = Sokoudjou.

Did you see him blow up Jardine? He got caught. He's an exciting fighter, so he should be able to stick around. But he does need some work. He could be a champion in the future. In the UFC, they just look for winning streaks to give title shots.

I liked him when he murked Jardine and Sakkara. When he fought Thiago Silva I was thinking he would be the same explosive Alexander he was in his first 2 fights in the UFC. But he clinched him knowing Thiago is the better ground fighter... and just last month he got knocked out in 8 seconds.

I'm sorry for sounding like a hater but I'm being true. Alexander has great potential and I respect the guy a lot having a family and doing his thing etc..
