  • why can't they just changed the name of the town called To morrow? or is it is tomorrow? today after today? or is it?.....never mind its confusing and i don't get it either! lol

  • Now you have been in Morrow. Let's see if you can get to day...LOL

  • This song I so well done and amusing :)

  • Five people missed the train.

  • i played this 4 my friends and they were very confused

  • I'm from morrow county ohio....FUCK Mt Gilead, Edison, Cardington and every other shit hole town in the county....dont ever go there unless you want to be enslaved forever hahahahahaha

  • @kayomoneybags00 can you not swear please on family entertainment. no one needs it.

  • @Jez32uk I here yah.

  • That is a difficult song to follow

  • Whats a howling jay

  • @Eleets1226 Means something like "tremendous beast", in a bad way XD... like telling someone's a big fool =P, that's why some laughing is heard in that part, in the video ^^'.

Love this song by the way!!!

  • my last names morrow ahahhahahha

  • I'm from Morrow haha.

  • Frank Oz had black hair, not red. I never saw a redheaded muppeteer in interviews.

  • @shackupyourstruly You gotta admit though, the voice is Frank Oz's. Maybe he had redder hair before he lost it all :P

  • This is just a brilliant song. Probably the best song they've ever covered.

  • 5 people missed the train to Morrow

  • There's a channel on British TV called Yesterday (it deals with historical dramas, documentaries etc.) Trailers for this channel always end by saying that the programme is on Yesterday - raising the question of why they're only telling us about it now.

  • Hahaha my family is actually from Morrow Ohio. It does indeed exist.. and every time there is a conversation about driving to Morrow this kind of confusion always happens. LOL.

  • i love Jim Henson

  • @hamdemond1 Me too. He was such a creative man but its sad that he passed away.

  • 4 people know how to get to Morrow.

  • I sang this song in front of 500 people and when I was, done they all mobbed me. I love this song

  • @grimlockfire My bad. its episode 5 from season one. episode 1 is the mu na mu na song. another classic.

  • Awesome!! Did Henson actually play the banjo?

  • Hahaha, my high school is in Morrow, Ohio! Woot

  • @KidderRules

    there's an actual Morrow, Ohio??

  • @overkillll

    Yes, there is.

  • I DON"T GET IT

  • I love David Crosby playing the bass in the back! 5 *'s

  • Season one. Episode one. Muppetshow

  • @gjm7539 thanx

  • what ep and season is this from

  • @grimlockfire its the first season episode with Rita Moreno

This song really could've done without the laugh track though, thats the only flaw I can think of

  • THIS IS THE MOST AMAZING SONG EVER WRITTEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I sang it to my friend once, and she didn't get it at all until I explained it to her!

  • 4 people couldn't go to morrow today.

  • This song is great, but the subtitles really take all of the fun out of it.

  • @hermit7000 yes, which is why one need to simply listen to it first and then watch it with the subtitles to truely see the pun of it all.

  • cool!

  • Banjo Riff of Ultimate Power.

  • I am from Morrow also!! Top of the hill toward Roachester!

  • 4 people are howling jays

  • Original is written 1898... we still enjoy it 112 years later... Now that´s class!!

  • im from morrow

  • Sounds like the kind of talk that goes on in the government on all levels.

  • F#cking Bl##dy Great man

  • Those 4 who dislike probably didn't understand!

  • I found the link to this on tv tropes... and it is the best thing I've ever seen. XD I shall memorize this song and sing it endlessly! :D

  • Kingston Trio, They wrote the song

  • LOL!!!

  • Awesome! Jim henson is so cool!

  • This is pure liquid awesomeness.

  • If anyone knows the VA-based Celtic Group Coyote Run, the Muppet on the right looks like David Doersch before he shaved his head.

  • Love it!

  • this is a funny song! And the most confusing song too. lol.

  • Third base!

  • This is the best Muppet song ever

  • I like "You don't wan't My Love" a little better...

  • all 3 lefties, unique. haha

  • I never noticed that! Cool!

  • Generally speaking the Muppets are left handed. The puppeteers work the head and mouth with the right hand which leaves the left hand to work one arm. Having two functional hands requires two performers, e.g The Swedish Chef (Jim and Frank)

  • The song is by The Kingston Trio. There are a few versus that are missing from this version, but it's still awesome.

  • @CjNiiSan The song is by Bob Gibson, who wrote many folk-like songs, mostly humorous, during The Kingston Trio time of fame

  • @BigRenman Actually it was written by Lew Sully in 1898! Bob Gibson made a few minor changes but he didn't write it. I only just found this out myself, and changed the info on my own upload of this song.

  • They had to slice-and-dice the song to fit a two minute time slot. The US broadcast edition of TMS included two minutes more advertising than in the UK. So the UK audiences got to see this extra "spot" instead.

  • This is pretty funny. I love it!

  • It's all the better that those muppets are meant to look like them.

  • haha sweet! I'm from Morrow, and we really do look like that!!!

  • how long does it take to get to morrow?

  • I live by Morrow. It's cool such a small village has its own song! :D!~

  • Hah! I got it on the first try!

  • I had to listen to this song like 5 times before I got it too.

  • it s0und Iike an Irish bar tune

  • I think it is, I've heard it with different lyrics but can't remember them at the moment.

  • Awesome.

  • FUNNY!! vmy dad showed me this and I went HA HA!!! IT was soooooooooooooooo funni, I'm performing this at my high school choir thinga majig!!

  • I love that last line. I barley get it, myself.

  • you can tell the voice is the natural one

  • It took me like forever to understad this song but once I understood it I was like "OMG i'm so stupid"

  • I've been listening to this song for a few months now and it still hasn't gotten old.

  • @gwerith and it never will

  • The other thing you will notice is that they are all left handed. That's because Jim and co were all right handed, and therefore had to control the puppet with the strongest hand, and strummed with the left

  • That's right. For anyone not quite clear- the banjo player was Jim Henson, Jerry nelson was on guitar and Frank Oz was the double bass player. According to Bonnie Erickson, who designed and created them, they're even dressed the way their real counterparts dressed at that time.

  • @Jourell1 The Hensen played puppet's face even resembles Hensen. granted I'm not sure about the other famous puppeteers, but I wouldn't be suprised if they were crafted in their likeness as well

  • yea the one singing looks like Jim Henson :-) He was a hero for bringing the muppets into the world.

  • The first guy sounds like Kermit...;)

  • that is Jim Henson singing

  • Yeah I guessed so.. it gonna be the same guy that does Kermit;)

  • IT IS, it's him

  • i love this song!

  • i live in morrow=) haha and we just had railroad day ha lol so funny this video=)

  • o and i dont think there are running trains in morrow cause ive only seen the ones that arnt on tracks and are for show...i was born and raised in morrow but idk bout the real running railroads still lol=)

  • I don't get it.

  • This is a terrific song. I agree with Raitaro85. The song is very catchy.

  • song's confusing if you don't have the lyrics o.O

  • ooooooooooooooooh

    babers

  • this is one catchy song

  • I love this video...Great song...

  • hehe. nice job putting the subs up because otherwise most people wouldn't be able to understand any of it!

this song kept me up all night trying to figure out what they were saying first time i saw this

  • I live in Ohio and there is indeed a small town called Morrow, this song is so awesome!

  • Just awesome!

  • Fun version , but check out the Kingston Trio's version

  • The song is, IIRC, by the Kingston Trio. This is a great version! Thanks.

  • Jim Henson will always be revered as a genius....He'll never be forgotten. He sure left us with warm fuzzies......Found this one hard to resist and this IS my favourite version of this song!

  • I think you're absolutely right about Jim Henson. He left such a legacy that it would be almost impossible for him to ever be forgotten.

  • I think this is my favorite thing from season one.

  • This song just ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I'll listen to it again tomorrow!

  • Can someone from Ohio tell me if there's really a town called Morrow in your state.

  • there is cne08

  • I happen to live in Morrow, Ohio.

And I absolutely love this song!

  • lol cool and plus this is my first time seeing this

  • LMAO! Muppets of themselves! Somehow i'd missed this. (I've hear other versions of the song, though.)

  • Yeah, I believe the trivia on the DVD with this one states they were based on the three big guys: Jim Henson, Frank Oz, and... I forget the name of the third. =P But hey, good to know they weren't so arrogant as to avoid having "dirty hippie muppets" based on them...

  • Richard Hunt. :)

  • He's not even in it. Jerry's in the back, Henson's on the left, and Oz is on the right.

  • Oz is the one in back. Jerry is the one on the right.

  • Huh. Last I saw Oz, he had black hair. I'm pretty sure that it's the guy on the right. But I could be wrong.

  • Watch Blues Brothers 2000. Frank Oz plays the warden of the prison at the beginning. He's bald with dark red hair.

  • Ah. Didn't look that way in the first one. But hey. I guess I'm wrong.

  • @BanditRingtail23 Hey, they should make Richard Hunt and Carroll Spinney Muppets that way there'd be a full five-piece folk band

  • I've actually seen the episode. Always a favorite.

    Morrows UNITE!

  • this is genius. Hello to Morrows everywhere!

  • Morrows!

  • ahh they have my name!!! ahh i am morrow :D i am privaleged :D:D

  • right on, we are privileged haha

  • me too! Cool song!

  • Love this song! Thanks for posting it and the subtitles don't hurt

  • Muppet Gold!!!!

  • Can anyone rip this song plz?

  • This is my FAVORITE Mjppet song!

  • For anyone who's wondering, this is from an episode early in the first season. Rita Moreno was the guest star.

  • yesss! hahaah i love this song =]

  • I miss the muppets. They suck now.

  • Classic!!! Check out the Muppets doin I'm My Own Grandpa just as funny.

  • Reminds me of trying to get through the DMV. xD

Excellent Clip. Thank you for posting this.

  • yes that character was based on jim. all 3 were based on people who worked on the muppets. i just cant remember whos who.

  • From Left to Right...

Jim Henson (banjo), Frank Oz (bass), Jerry Nelson (guitar). The song is sung by Henson and Nelson.

  • Is the banjo player/ traveller based on Jim himself do you think?

  • Jim Henson, Frank OZ, and Jerry Nelson. Only these guys could make folk music and puppets into cultural icons. Even now, over 30 years later, everyone drummer on the face of the earth reveres Animal as their hero, and everyone knows the words to countless songs of theirs.

    Bravo.

  • Yes !! The classic 'Folk Bank' sketch!!! I love it !! Thanks for posting !!!

  • I don't get it too :P

  • haha josse.

  • The more I listen to it, the more addicted I get. Wonderful play on words.

  • Wonderful stuff, the Muppets and Jim Henson were brilliant. Such a clever show. Pity about the lyrics being on the screen though. The brilliance of the song is the play on the word 'morrow', it's not meant to be read.

  • i put up the words on pupose, because i originally posted it for a jug band to learn the tune. i also find it funny to think of the transcriptionist who had to sort out when to spell it how. thanks for the comment, this is indeed a brilliant clip from a world of endless imagination & creativity

  • I've been looking for this! Thanks for posting it!

  • yaha, classic!

  • Yay! Thank you for posting this.
