As i saw more of this show and tv special, it makes me want to go searching for the stuff based on them.
I remember going to my Grandparents house as a kid and watched them. Plus cooler's tv Special Appearence is what i remember and Howler and makes me want to go find them, My grandparents has stuff on the 2 at their home. I should look when i go there sometime.
I Remember renting this movie during my childhood days in canton, south dakota, and it was so awsome, better then the crappy series that's on the hub, Old Skool all the way for me.
Went on demand..saw pound puppies, was freaking out and clicked on it...It was a new version and IT SUCKED!!!!! It was something that someone made up trying to make money!
Oh my gosh!! I've been looking for this for AGES! It used to be one of my favorite movies as a kid. :)
And did anyone else notice "The Great Escape" references? Like the "Cooler" King, who was put in "Solitary Confinement" for bad behavior. And eveyone attempting to escape all the time. This is so cool! Thanks for posting!
Wow. I Used To Rent This Movie During My Childhood Years in Canton, South Dakota. And I Also Used To Have One Of Them Too. Except The One That I Got Was A Greyish-colored one and I Named Him, Harry. I Wish They Put This Movie Out On DVD.
I have seen, pretty much, the whole series after Hanna-Barbera (sp) took over but never the first one that started off the cartoon series? The first time I came across the PP was a book my brother had back when I was like 7 years old (he would of been about 9), SO happy when a cartoon series came out. XD
God, this was like a decade ago. I remember this!!! I had all the stuffed animals 'n' stuff, I remember getting this tape at some flea market or something years ago.
THANK YOU FOR POSTING THE CLASSIC ORIGINAL PILOT EPISODE!! This was my fave before Hanna-Barbera gave it a "makeover"(sic). Note that when the "new look Pound Puppies" came out, they a toy company (can't recall who) came out with puzzles featuring the Pound Puppies charaters from the pilot episode.
Yay! Thank you so much! I used to have this on tape and ever since it was unfortunately recorded over, I haven't been able to find it anywhere. Does anyone know if this special has been released on DVD?
That's because it's the same voice actress, Adrienne Alexander. For the TV show, Nancy Cartwright does Bright Eyes (and strangely enough, Pat Carroll, Ursula in The Little Mermaid, plays Katrina).
I just saw all four parts of this and...wait a minute...
*having a flashback*
Wait...I DO remember this! I mostly remember Pound Puppies from the other versions of the show. I may have seen this one a long time ago. I remember Cooler talking to Violet and I remember the fat guy who kept ripping his pants. Why do I keep remembering THAT part?
Anyway, thanks for uploading this. I wish for more episodes of this or any other version of this show.

I remember this special and the 1980s TV series - both are WAAAY better than that awful new series now running on the Hub.

I loved this one. Its interesting to see how closely they resemble the toys in this version vs the more streamlined look for the continuing series.
And Howler is best when he doesn't talk.

Hmmm...the special certainly was the polar opposite of the series, what with it being so dark, gritty and depressing.
