  • Mine does the exact same thing. The more particle effects there are on screen, the more artifacts appear.

  • Looks like the Matrix is coming through...

  • Mine basically has problems with the screen where there is a big blotch on the left hand side of the screen, like the colors are dimmer on the left hand side where the blotch is. Dosn't bother me too badly. I am not sure if its because I have homebrew enabled on mine and Ive run DVD's on it etc.

  • They only charge $75 for a flat rate repair.

  • My Wii did it for a while, but it went away after turning off WiiConnect24's standby connection for a while.

  • Glad to hear that. Maybe I won't have to send my Wii for repairs after all. I stopped WiiConnect24. In fact I have removed the power adapter from the Wii. I'm just going to leave it like that for a day or too and hope for the best.

  • i was able to edit my miis after repair...

  • Agh! I have this problem... how do I get it fixed? Must I send it in and get a new Wii??? :O

It seems to be getting worse and worse...

  • You will have to send in your console ... you will get a new one back. It will have all your old Mii's, but you will have to re-download all your VC content. BUT you will not be able to edit any of your old Miis.

  • I have 100% exactly the same problem on my Wii. I'm going to send mine in for repairs after Christmas. Hopefully if they sorted your problem out they'll sort mine.

  • Do they charge you? I now stupid PS3 charges $150.

  • I had long suspected that a baked graphics card was the culprit. It happens the most when rendering smoke or surface effects. It's particularly bad in Metroid when you get up close to a highlighted object with the Scan visor.

It's also particularly bad in Cooking Mama for some reason.

  • This happens because of the Wii graphics card being damaged from overheating. However the system only overheats while in standby mode with WiiConnect 24 turned on (no fans are turned on to cool the processor while it's updating) While playing games though, the fan keeps the wii very cool. This happened to my wii and they replaced it too.

  • I have the exact same problem with my Wii. It seems to happen whenever there's smoke/fog in games, it's weird. It's happened to me in all of my Wii games. I contacted Nintendo's repair center and am awaiting a pre-paid label to send it in. I'm glad to hear you say your new Wii is doing fine. Good luck!
