If I was compiling that Bee Gees top 20 this song would have topped the lot - call me old fashioned but it is sensational and always has been . It was a number 2 single in 1969 in the UK and a big seller - many weeks in the top 10 . One of their biggest from the pre disco era and one of their own favourites aswell . Slushy sad and sentimental I know but it's still great !

LAST FRIDAY EVENING SAW A TV PROGRAMME "THE NATION'S TOP 20 BEE GEES SONGS" WAS DISAPPOINTED AND SURPRISED THAT THIS SONG WASNT FEATURED. AS ITS SUCH A LOVELY SONG (*THAT MOST OF US COULD RELATE TO - WHO HAVE HAD A BROKEN RELATIONSHIP) I CERTAINLY WASNT EXPECTING SONGS LIKE "ISLANDS IN THE SUN" TO BE IN IT. THAT "HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE" WAS THE NO.1 SONG (WHICH WASNT A NUMBER I) BEING THAT IT WAS IN "SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER" PROBABLY EXPLAINS WHY. (MOST SUCCESSFUL PART OF THEIR CAREER)

this song was played and loved by my late Mother in Law who passed away on Tuesday what a gorgeous song which will be played at her Funeral next Thursday i know tears will be flowing throughout as she was one in a million she was not my Mother in Law to me she was an extra Mum and i am so upset that she passed away.

@chan2b I just listened to Simon & Garfunkel's Bridge over troubled water, which was played on my mothers cremation too, she passed away in 2005 age 51. I was 14 at the time and it took me quite a while to be able to listen to the songs without crying. This one from the BeeGees was also played, so strange to feel the same sounds come into my ears just like 6 years ago. Welcome back, tears.
