We didn't have a "hat rule", but used "hachimaki(head band)" in Kibasen. Those are the "official" boy's games approved by the school. There are many other contact games boys invent and being played during the lunch time, which send some of them to the school nurse's room. There's always annoying girls start complaining to the teacher about it and get banned soon.
It was quite cool at Junten - they had the nurse's area, and the kids had designed all these signs for it, and for some reason this year it was called the 'Sick Pokemon Recovery Centre'. All those sick pokemons :(
