Love this on the PS1 WOTW game. I remember the first few seconds as the camera flew over the battle field and then went down and you got the roar of the engine of your armoured car =] and then I can remember the sound of big explosions of fire and beams of heat ray as the rest played! Fantastic!
i ripped this song of the playstation games disk, if you put it in a normal cd player you use to be able to listen to music from the game, i no longer have my playstation but have kept this game so i can listen to music.
I cant get over this track.. I have played it so many times its unreal. Its relaxing and for me it sums up the war of the worlds and I dont know, I kinda sound like a freak here but this song is magical to me :/ I dont think i will ever get tired of listening to it. I grew up listening to the original soundtrack and I still love it, its so good this remix, it sounds almost nothing at all like the original song lol genius in my opinion. Thankyou for uploading this :)
I can't believe no one has mentioned this yet after two years ...
The picture of Parson Nathaniel holding his cross up to the tripods is a ... what's the word ... "altered version" of Salvador Dali's "The Temptation of Saint Anthony". Google Image it and compare the two paintings. They're almost identical, except that this is a mirror image of the original.
@MaximillianZakes You are right. Kudos on your art knowledge! The Peter Goodfellow painting used here is definately a homage to Dali's "Temptation of St Anthony" with the spider legged elephants replaced with Martian Tripod Fighting Machines and Parson Nathaniel as St Anthony. The only major difference is the Goodfellow painting is reversed with the cross-weilding Parson pictured to the right, while Dali's original St Anthony was pictured to the left if my memory serves me correctly.
the music from the game was awesome, shame the gameplay itself was a bit naff, although not half as much as a certain tom cruise movie about same thing
Totaly agree there, yea it is a very rare game to come across now. still sits proudly on my shelf and whenever i need to play the music on i usually use it for that now lol. but still play the game when need to lol. they probably wont do a remake or anything, could do really well on ps3 graphics lol
thank you :) aye i've got loads of war of the worlds stuff. got interested when we listened to Jeff Waynes album for a subject at my primary school. then i bought the book, album and the game lol. that was probably 10 years ago almost now lol. i've also got the artbook for the different pictures that were used in the album and an album that was limited edition with 5 extra songs. Spirit of Man has a reggae riff to it lol
If you are experiancing a problem play CDDA audio during gameplay on any system above 9x you'll probably have no joy. The game is notorious for not working on them as it was designed for Win95 primarily.
However as to the having to play it via media player you should check to ensure that you have an audio cable from your cd rom drive to soundcard as the sound is played analougusly in gameplay, also ensure that wave and cd rom audio is set to a suitable volume in your volume manager.
If you insert your CD of either disc the audio tracks can simply be palyed by loading up WIndows Media Player or WInamp or (insert audio player name here) and choosing the option to play the audio cd in what ever drive letter your drive is that the disc is in.
I have this game but somehow I can't be able to play the audio track on Windows XP. I've tried installing the game just to extract the audio but no joy. This was no problem when I was installing on my P3 laptop running Windows 98.
from this someone must make a dubstep remix xD
