  • Can I recommend that you use, say, a tea light candle? I've heard tell that lighters if kept on long enough can actually heat up so much they can melt into the fuel casing and explode, particularly when only half full (there's more gasses, less lighter fuel therefore more dangerous). I haven't had that happen yet myself, but once I had a lighter on for longer than the usual time one keeps it lit, and it really started to get quite hot. Just a thought.

  • @Kayenne54 i do use candles its gives a different effect.

this technique is very popular as per views.

i dont want to change how i do it thanks

  • @queentroll1955 thankyou

  • What is the name of that machine?

    pleaseeeee

excuse my english I speak spanish :)

  • @SraVedder this is a cuttlebug machine but you can also use other machines similar and also you can hand cut the circles. i can sell a some cut circles of the correct fabric to post out for small cost and postage so just message me if you need any. i can do small or bigger lots cheers cyndi

  • Do you think you could cut the fabric with scissors before burning the ends and still have the same effect? I can't afford a machine like that but still wanted to try this... Thanks!

  • @katiedid2848 definitely if you cut them neatly give it a try. if you need circles cut out i can do that for a small fee and postage just let me know happy to help out

  • Thank u i love them!I just used a candle instead of the lighter.

  • @mommommy7 great. i find i do use both but lighters give me more shaping ability some how. i just have a few lighters on hand and a candle. i find the candle can get too hot and burn too much. thanks for sharing your results and i hope u view my other videos

  • so beautiful thank you for sharing

but can you please tell me what is this Machine and its name please ?

  • @Sara998899 this is the cuttlebug machine. i sell the embellish machine now and it has lots of circles in one of its die sets. i will test it out on fabric.goodluck with it. u can hand cut them out too just make a circle witha lid..and use scissors..dont have to be perfect will still look fine

  • what type of fabric do you normally use?can you burn all fabric for flowers that easy? 1st timer any advice?

  • @MrsFarias18 it needs to have a mix of acrylic with it . i prefer to get the dress remnants or the manmade silk lining fabrics. they work best. goodluck :)

  • Luv, luv, luv it! Subscribed!

  • @melisw1 thankyou hope its helps you make some flowers :)

  • @mimiah1 you are welcome :)

  • @CosmeticCat thanks for commenting appreciate it

  • These are lovely,I agree with you that the cheap lining fabric definately look the most authentic..the great thing too is that by fusing the edges it stops the fabric from fraying.I haven't got one of those machine..it;s still scissors for me.

I've been making a few nice little sketchbooks with collage/embroidery covers,,thanks you've given me a few ideas for decorating them,,best wishes Sophie

  • @AScrappinIdeadotcom thanks for watching and i hope you make some soon! dont forget to subscribe i am having a give away soon....

  • those are pretty clips

  • what is that machine called you use

  • @ShaeShaeNe i used a cuttlebug die cutting machine, i also have a sizzix and a bellish ezy press. i will demonstrate that one soon so please subscribe i plan to do more videos soon. :) if you need some cut let me know. u can also hand cut them using a template and scissors. make a template from a circular lid shape.

  • @MildredEThompson yes i am going to do one soon. i live in cairns and we r just getting over the cyclone damage and lost wages so it will be a crafty offering. thanks for subscribing :)

  • please i wanna ask you about this machine if it's only makes circels or it can makes another shapes? thnak you for your help

  • @finder850 yes just google sizzix original or big dies they are the thicker ones and they fit the sizzix big shot and the cuttlebug. lots of shapes. u can also now cut fabric on cricut but it looks a bit more trickier. check out ebay for second hand dies. they are steel blades and u can resharpen with tin foil to maintain. i may do a video on it.

you can hand cut the circles with a template. i could also cut you a batch. i do have an etsy so i could list it for you. let me know. or message me.

  • Nice flowers...I don't have a circle die yet...I had that die and put it back now I will go back and get it thanks for sharing

  • @scrapin2010 you can hand cut them but the die means you get it done quicker and they are all perfect. thanks for commenting. i like your channel btw.

  • try to take a candle - that saves your fingers ;o)

  • @samilmaaa i do use candles but this technique is better with flame sculpture but only do so if you are confident you are safe and use a few lighters so they arent hot. at your own risk.

  • what was the type of lining silk that you used for the periwinkle colored flowers? thanks =)

  • @iheartsfriend the blue ones were organza the purple a dress fabric high in acrylic or manmade fabric. the lining satin or silk you can use successfully is often called bejing silk its the manmade lining silk so it will melt

    goodluck with making fowers

  • People i think is more easy with a candle and hold the petal with a tool dont burn your fingers pleeeease!

  • @webaholicsweet i do use candles but the lighter always shapes better i now keep a few lighters so they dont get used so much they are less hot

  • Hi there - just loved this tutorial - do you still have any diecutter machines available and instructions? Also, how much would it cost? I do live in Australia. Thanks for sharing this video - it was great - so easy to follow :)

  • @MetungM hi sorry i am a bit slow answering. i got mine on ebay but many scrapbooking shops can sell you the machine. kaszazz sells dies and machines too but i dont think they cut fabric. you can easily cut circles. use lids of different sizes to make templates. stack fabric and cut a few at a time.

i also could die cut you a heap of circles let me know and i can work out how much to ask. it wont be much lol

goodluck cheers great to see other aussies on here!

  • just make the circles yourself ::L

  • cool

  • WHERE CAN BUY THE CUTTER MACHINE???

  • @latinabloms7 i got my cuttlebug and dies online off ebay

    but just google

i sell a diecutter macine but i have to test it for fabric its a tinner die machine but it does come witha set of circles i will let you know.

    are you in australia?

  • very pretty, I would suggest using a candle though. that way you don't have to try to keep the lighter lit.

  • @EmbroideredFlower yes i have used candles too. made this video a long while ago. thanks for watching

  • thank u for sharing this . the flowers look really nice ! im gonna try it

  • Hi, I want to make these flowers but i don't have a Cuttlebug. Can you tell me what the sizes of the circles you used are please? :)

  • @charb97 hi i think they are about 21/2 inch, 2inch, and 1 1/2 and 1 inch but i am guessing. you could vary it. just use a small lid of jars and containers. they look hand cut. i know some people start with squares and just curve off the corners and that works well. goodluck

  • nice flowers been looking for that die for like forever with no joy tfs hugs jayne xxxx

  • @dizzyrus1001 i have 2 of them! lol just in case! i would love the scallop circle one they make nice flowers too. i saw a video the other day and it was good.

  • @Bskweme thanks i will put you in the draw to win flowers

  • @Bskweme yes certain fabric works well go for organza and dress fabric whiy is polyester /acrylic content

  • The flowers are lovely Cyndi! Please be careful with the Bic lighter. They can blow up when left on longer than to light a cigarette. I was so nervous watching you. I know matches are a pain but safer. I will have to try some of these for my nieces. I know they will love them! xo

  • @wildheart5 yes i am using the long kitchen one now and alternating as they get hot i believe a hot gun works well too

have fun making them the kids will love them

  • @sewsweet08 i mean heat tool like what you usein stamping with embossing not the glue gun

  • i tried some satin but it was singin so just check your fabric before you start

organza works well and some other dress fabrics but test first

  • wow Cute hair clips

    Shelley

  • @Shel0524 thanks did you subsribe so i can put you in the draw to win!

  • I've seen these in my craft mags for a while now, and even went so far as to buy the fabric, but never getting around to finishing them. They are gorgeous :)

How many little petals did you do to make that purple one? It is so full and lovely. Some people just make them with 3-4 little circles and they just look like they need so much more to be complete.

  • @silverscreamgrl thankyou i hope you some and use up the scraps you have i thought these would be nice for the love fundraiser\

the purple had about 3 of all the 3 bigger size and 4 tiny

i have so much fabric left from dance costumes to use up

everyone is getting these for xmas or a brooch this year lol

  • @sewsweet08 They would be lovely to dress up a t-shirt, making it go from just a tee to something awesome special :)

  • @silverscreamgrl i was going to sew it to my shirt then thought a brooch wwould be better so i can wash shirt seperate

u can try a heat gun too

  • I love your flowers! I am working on some new flowers myself and trying to use different types and ways of doing them just to see what happens.
