  • I don't get the deal here.A kahler tremolo is not a double locking tremolo,That is the reason it behaves like that

  • where are parts 2 and 3????

  • I bought a BC Rich Kerry King and I watching your video and I saw in the minute 6:06 the khaler is fixed on my guitar so what do you mind the tremolo is disabled

    (sorry for mi english) :)

  • @guitarrazze is your loking nut on? Check that and if it is than do the same stuff for the kahler of what you can and it should work

  • @eduardosidcardoso it will work i have tryed it

  • You talk about kahler 2300, you mean THE 2300? or the series? Cause I want to buy the esp NV and it has a Kahler 2315 bridge, with your steps, can I "fix" the bend problem?

  • sounds like your bending the fuck outta the strings just 4 the sake of it and not for any musical pleasure.

  • Parts 2 & 3? Not even on your website! Please?

  • So can you show us the solution too? Where's part 2 and 3?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Wow... how about that

I've had a Kahler on a Strat since 1988 and am having another one installed literally this week on a strat I got a few months ago...

over 20 years - same Kahler system - Never had a tuning problem (ever)

  • solution to maintenance (or at least for floyd) put the gauge of strings, tuning, and every thing else like that you want, get it set up, AND LEAVE IT! i have my floyd in E, 9 gauge strings, never changed or adjusted anything after i got it set up and have never had a problem. i do not own a kahler but I plan buy a 2300 soon.

thumbs up if you agree with my solution.

  • Can you show a video of how you fixed it, how you fixed the spring tension and windings etc? Thanks

  • Where are the rest of the parts?

  • I have the same problem almost... its just a floyd rose original i have o.O

when i push down the tremolo bar it downtunes a little, when i pull the tremolo bar up it uptunes. Can anyone help me?

  • Comment removed

  • HELLO, I have a G&L rampage and is wondering if the squealies are able to be done or do I need to have a floyed rose.

  • I don't have a Kahler but have set up lots of guitars with them and lots with Floyd Rose. They both work but both can malfunction and need maintenance, what mechanical device won't? I prefer Kahler though because when you bend a string it won't detune the other strings the same time, like FR does. Also, there's more guitar-wood left 'cos surface mount means a much smaller rout.

  • where are parts 2/3

  • if i get a guitar with a Kahler i am going to use it only in fixed bridge mode.

BTW. Thanks for all of the info and for the great videos you have made.

  • @wtdakata Then just get a guitar with a fixed bridge dumbass

  • Tham! I whant a Kahler

  • that sucks, i have a FR original and it doesn't have this problem?... shit, i even have a frankenstrat with just locking tuners and THAT stays completely in tune.

    fucking kahler man.. haha.

  • I have the same problem with my guitar, every time I bend it behind the nut it just tunes up and then since mine is an Epiphone SG, I have to tune it down then back up again

  • i like the kahler mine is 84 usa jackson it stays in tune watch my vids u talk about sacrifice floyd rose is a peice of junk cuting holes in guitars not acceptable destroying sound

  • I have a Kahler a BC RIch Wartribe made in China. If I were to lock the Tremolo in so that its a fixed Bridge. And then tune it to, say, drop B or C standard tuning. Then after a while tune it back to standard(What its set up to) Would I be screwing anything up?

  • why not just buy a...floyd rose?>.<

  • i have solved the bending/diving issue by using Big Bends' String Sleeves (cut in half), so that THEY ride the cam, & NOT the strings. i no longer have ANY probs switching between finger bending & whammy diving, and i don't even have a string lock on my lp/sg. as an added precaution, i VERY occasionally use big bend's nut sauce where the string sleeves curve around the cam. trust me, i have had NO tuning issues since doing this! i can bend & dive ALL DAY LONG, & stay in tune...

  • you are an amazing player, but i assure you that chapstick is not needed at all. it is physicall impossible for there to be any friction between the string and the cam. the only problems you can have are in your rollers, keep them lubed up well. clean them well. and tighten the nut more if the G string is unwound.

  • I love my Kalher. IT takes some getting used to but the divebombs!!!

  • i have a ltd jh 200 but the tremolo dosnt move you know what is the problem?

  • @maidenfer05 Sure. There's a lock screw on the back edge - loosen it up to use your tremolo.

  • I love how this guy explains how to fix Kahler's problem, but PLEASE USE DIFFERENT MUSIC!!! lol

  • why did you decide to upgrade to a Kahler 2300 from the Hybrid? I'm thinking about getting the LTD JH600 and am wondering if the Hybrid is so bad that it warrants an upgrade to a better tremolo?

  • @hetfield2x4 I have a JH600 with the original Hybrid with the same problem out of the box. Instead of the chapstick, a TINY bit of silicon grease in the groove of the rollers and a bit of fine machine oil on the roller shaft fixed it for me. The Hybrid works fine and dmometal probably wasted his upgrade money. FR is more of a pain in the ass and installation literally craters all neck - through attributes. Putting FR on a JH600 is a sin and you will fry in hell.

  • Do the newer model Kahlers exhibit the same problems or is it just on older models?

  • Men, if you lock the kahler, have you always this problem ?

  • @christiancoker1 chapstick

  • I Have the same problem with my floyd rose 1000 series bridge which the esp rep told me that the only differance in the original floyd and the 1000 series is that the 1000 series is made in korea instead of germany. Other than that, it is supposed to be made to the exact same specs. I just bought this guitar and set it up but its doing the same thing as you mention here. I can get dive bombs in tune or bending in tune but not both.

  • same problem with me

  • i have problem with bending strings.... i have light strings and all ....BUT .. when i bend on high E string on like 13 15 19 16 and same these notes on B ... the string strings get muted and if i tried really hard the string would get broken .what problem is this ? why the strings just doesnt go freely up ?

  • @oOoKhaledoOo

You are most likely fretting out....

  • @oOoKhaledoOo if your guitar has a fret board radius that is curved (typically fenders), and the action is too low it will fret out. This happens because the string hits the edge of the curve of the fingerboard and the string no longer vibrates. Unfortunately the only way to fix this is too raise the action. But, if you have a guitar with a relatively flat fingerboard (such as a gibson, jackson, or ibanez) and only certain notes fret out, then it is probably due to poor fret leveling.

  • @oOoKhaledoOo Sounds like youre fretting out...what I did was adjust the saddle up a little bit so its not touching the screw--making the string go dead.

  • i have an edge III tremolo and when i dump the bar and it return it to its position the strings go flat. also, when i pull up on the bar, the strings stay sharp after i return it to its position... what possible problems could i have?

  • @zeppelinhalen08, You have a set up problem. It's most likely to be that you dont ahve the right trem angle. It's suppost to be slightly forward. Either that, or you dont have tight locking nut bolts (at the back of the headstock), or you don't have the nut tight enuff, or it's set up the wrong way

( nut pad not fitted in correctly), or your neck bolts arent tight, your saddle bolts and string clamps arent tight, or if it's been a loooong time, it could be possible to have knife edge wear.

  • ibanez floyd roses get those problems your floyd rose blades are dull it happens cause many ibanez floyds use cheap metal thats not very strong ive had problems like this with ibanez also but i gave up on them cause they dont use original parts like the other brands

  • I'm seeing high bends on the Model 4. Tell me if I've missed something, but on the Common Guitar Problems video, I believe, didn't you say you avoid high bends on the Charvel because of fretting out?

  • @riseagainstmeatloaf The Model 4 frets out with the 1st and 2nd strings. The 3rd string is fine.

  • Hey DMO, my model 2 does the same thing.

I thought maybe it was something wrong with the neck like a warp or something.

I have it setup with perfect low action so I don't really want to raise the bridge.

You think a little neck relief at the truss rod would make a difference?

When I push the neck forward a bit it doesn't fret out.

Wondered what you did about it. I can't be without bending, no way!

  • 2:19-2:42 :-0000

  • I was thinking if Kahler uses a pair of ball bearings at the place where the cam joints that might decrease a lot of the friction

  • it does descrease but not enough, there's three friction points on the kahler.

  • Kahler just isnt worth all the sacrifces and extra maintenance. Tremelo enquiped guitars are heavy enough on maintenace so unless you actaully enjoy working on your guitar mechanics more than actaully playing, I would recommend nobody to get one.

  • Intelligent comment. My thoughts: 1. All tremolo systems are somewhat a pain in the ass to maintain, including a Floyd / 2. Kahler is addictive in a good way. The little thing is so smooth and feels so great that I've always been like - man, if I can fix this bending issue, it can be one of the greatest tremolos ever. But you're right - I love guitar mechanics, so the extra steps don't really bother me. But play a Kahler my friend - you'll be hooked.

  • I'm not really that into tremelo's but it seems indeed a while lot smoother than my Floyd. Kahler just doesnt seem that reliable enough to me. Maby one day when I have enough to spare.

  • You have to solder strings when using Kahlers? What a pain in the ass...

  • Awesome video cant wait for the rest of the series :) I always liked the kahler design opposed to the floyd rose damn licensing...

  • thats a fricking weird tremolo

  • are those .008 strings?

  • So, after your trouble with the Kahler, would you recommend the jh-600 over the esp m ii standard? Or maybe another guitar over those two?

  • OMG, You're actually wearing pants at 3:04!

  • That's Jacquesguitars. Read 2:04.

  • Oh... sorry, I didn't finish reading it. x.x

  • Was also wondering why the tone sounded different.

  • thats not him lol

  • why do you guys get so excited about whats your comment number... NOBODY CARES!

  • wow, next time i buy a guitar with a kahler i'll be sure to watch this video again. lol took so long to find the solotion

  • What's the thing you do with the harmonics to check the tuning?

  • 5th fret and 7th fret of the next string are the same harmonic. ex low e 5th fret harmonic and a string 7th fret harmonic and the same note. work with all of the strings except for the g and b strings

  • The harmonic tuning trick that I do is to do natural harmonics on the 5th fret-6th string and then it's the 7th fret-5th string. The pitches aren't supposed to oscillate, which shows how out of tune the strings are. When they don't oscillate, they're in tune. Then I do the same thing on the next strings until the 3rd string. For tuning the higher three strings, I use the 4th fret-3rd string, the 5th fret-2nd string, and the 7th fret-1st string.

  • wow, that was so much awesome, you're my idol. Please let me praise you as some god or something, ok?
