Hey Shawn and Drew. I've had a gambling problem since mid 2003 or so, and have tried many times to quit, and I've found your approach to quitting the most helpful, and read over your info all the time. It's a realistic, down to earth quitting method. Thank you for helping me to quit :) I am still struggling, but at least am now more aware of my actions and feelings when I have the urges and triggers. Take care!

A simple aspect of gambling is this: To win $300-$400 you have to lose $700. Now what? This time gambling I knew why I gambled. I just stupidly ignored my inner voice. (THAT SCREAMED you dont want that hell again. I had forgotten the pain. I tasted it again today.) Kudos! It's easy to lose that in less than an hour, I've seen some course for less though this looks through and worth every penny if it helps someone! The trouble is even if a gambler comes back say to even 2 of 3 times he/she is still digging a deeper hole. I should have known better and didn't think it would happen to me. In the USA it is a currently guestimated that as many as 10 000 000+ individuals gamble too much (meaning more than 3 times per year or more than $1500 per year).

About 100 000 (1% of those troubled) are in dire emotional & financial straights as a result of being addicted to gambling.
