  • Shiiiiiiit. Good on the old man for turning up! Love it!

  • k?

  • TY very much!!

  • this guy is "mouth " of Goonies WOW

  • its hard to do bodyweight with it because you cant pull it down -_-

  • @somerandomutewb LOL i feel that ... more like a pullup aha

  • Grandpa Did 2. Nails it and shuts his mouth. He is fit as a fuck

  • this is a excellent instructional video.

  • Also remember not to get your ponytail caught in the machine.

  • perfect form, i see too many people in my gym and too many youtube videos where guys end up doing rows because their form is awful, keep up the good work brotha

  • Wonderful video! btw my brother tried this very popular natural diet called: Impact 790 Diet and reduced 15 pounds in a month. I do not remember the actual website just Google it.

  • 1:24 The dead man "Cumming" there ahah

  • If you do the lat pull downs behind your neck, you should be VERY careful and make sure you have good form. You can seriously jack your neck/shoulders up doing those...

  • Not gonna lie I got so distracted with that awesome old guy lol

  • wouldnt closer grip increase rom??? why do u suggest wide grip?

  • @joe101510151015 LMAO

  • Thanks I will use this to work on my form next time i am at the gym

  • A for good instruction-telling.

  • hey! I like the way you teach, are u still uploading videos? I´d like to follow your channel, and your page doesnt work.

    Tnks!

  • Extremely Helpful !

    thanks dude!

  • Good descriptive video. Saynk you!

  • i dont have a v in my neck

  • @mrdrprof lol

  • THank you brotha

  • cheers great video! very informative

  • this exercise good for building arm strength?

  • @507Soccer No, mainly back strength (and size). The biceps are involved but not that much. Search for biceps curls and Triceps kickbacks etc for arm strenght.

  • @yenitthailand ok thanks

  • @507Soccer it can be, if you make your grip closer and/or use a reverse grip it incorporates more of the biceps, but its still just an assisting muscle

  • hello there everyone, has anyone here tried using Gallactico 324 Diet (search on google) ?My father lost a lot of excess weight using Gallactico 324 Diet within weeks?

  • That gym is empty!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • the old guy is the guys father..... good vid yo

  • this guy is good at explaining

  • lMAO the old guy..why does the camera follow him?

  • whats grandad doing at the back,

  • When I do the Lat Pull down with care, I stop because my arms give up, not because of my back muscles. Am I doing wrong form, because I feel that it has more effect on my arms, and less on back.

I use 30 kg right now. Should I reduce 5 kg and then increase my reps so that I target my back muscles and reduce the use of arms?

  • @apourv1991 Where specifically in your arms? I had a lot of problems regarding my wrists/forearm area, but after a month or so the muscles strengthened enough to stop this.

If not, you could try a wrist support/strap (assuming that the problem is concerning that area, of course).

    Hope this helps :)

  • @DaStuDogg The forearms. I think that Chin-Up is best for my back. I just started them a couple days ago. Because it actually target the back muscles more. But to get more Chin-Ups, I think I need to really increase weight on Lat-Pulls.

Also I find Dumb-bell flyes more effective than Pec-Dec machine.

  • @apourv1991 yeah i don't feel my back at all either

  • @apourv1991 Sounds like you're lifting too much - reduce to a smaller weight say 5-10 and practice your form. Do you have a particularly small back/shoulders?

  • lol, id love to see the old guy just bench some ridiculous weight haha

  • i dont think i would do the behind head pulldown, look how your head has to squeeze forward in that odd position, just doesnt look natural to me

  • fuck this, jst do pull ups and you will have lats for good

  • @Okwilliams this is kinda better than a pullup because its focuses more on the lat. But the pull up is also great for those who wish to train at home.

  • lol WTF? is with the old dude in the background..its like watchin a moneky read the news...

  • @azza310392 i think its the perv from family guy

  • 說實話 我聽不太懂英文講解耶! 有人可以翻譯嘛.....拜託了

  • Is that Larry David at 1:20?.... he just turned up to show you up lol

  • what are the advantages of lifting the bar behind the head?

  • your grandpa in the backgroud is showing us the old school way of doing things like they did back in the 1800's...

  • the old guy came up looked over at the camera and was like: WTF

  • Comment removed

  • is it normal for me not to feel my back during this as a bigginer or am i doing it wrong?

  • Great tutorial. Nice job.

  • The old dude's buddies are probably off playing dominoes and drinking whiskey and milk, but he's in the gym. Gnarly.

  • i pick things up and put them down

  • Aah, thanks! I thought the pain in my shoulders really wans't supposed to be part of it! I was yanking it pretty much down to my crotch :D

  • cant be said enough.... lawz! the old guy

  • very good video, many thanks!! :)

  • The old man in the background made me laugh out loud. hahahahahaha

  • You need to lean back way more if you really wanna train your delts

  • Thanks - this was really useful. I enjoyed the video - now to put it into practice is a different thing altogether

  • If i do this excercise i het pain in my neck

  • THAT OLD MAN IS BADASS!!

  • funny he looks like Steven Seagal junior!!

  • Thats definitely Jonny Knoxville from Jackass in the backround!!!

  • Thanks for the video. Well done. I live FAR out and I had a trainer send me a nutritional plan and training plan, but still needed to see "how to" on the various exercises. Thanks again.

  • wow, you look like a white version of Antonio banderas.

  • what do you call it if you pull it down to the back of your neck?

  • You never mention how many reps we should do

  • This guy knows what he is talking about. I see a lot of peoples with their elbows out while doing this, I just shake my head.

My two cents, jerking at higher weights n squeezing when you're in the contracted position can be very beneficial, but amatures should stick with good form

  • Thank you man, that elder dude behind you should watch this video, if he even knows what a lat pull down is. :D

  • Do you suck dick before or after these videos?!?! u and your tattoos are gay.

  • this guys a douche, you're not supposed to do the lat pulldowns behind your head

  • hey everyone check out my new vid 'Joel Stubbs - Widest/thickest Back in Bodybuilding? (No Photoshop)'

  • Haha I love the old dude at 1:35 that starts doing the same thing hes saying not to do.

  • @zmatt

its not a dude its an old man. its a miracle he still can walk lmao. i mean its hard for him to stay stable.

  • I thought it's more your lats when your elbows are in farther, and more your rear shoulders and stuff when you have your elbows out farther - is that true?

  • Nice explanation, but this guy seems like a prick to me. Kinda of arrogant if you ask me? As though he has some "secret knowledge". :-)

  • Damn nice explanation, damn nice.

  • Thnaks. That helped.

  • Thank you sir

  • its triple H!

  • @kingromano lol

  • Doesn't Lat Pulldown stand for Latina Pulldown?

  • @Death4Devils depends where you live.

  • thanks man, helped round out my form on these

    +1

  • i thought u had to bring the bar to the bottom of your chest, so its the top?

  • @DMxNemesis Going further down is pure bicep workout. You back can't realy contract anymore than doing correct form down to the chin

  • @Drengen10 Um, that really depends a lot on the joint angles, keep in mind one can do humeral extension and adduction with the triceps+lats too.

  • There´s an old man walking around in the background of some of the videos; looks like he could use a trainer!

  • im 13 and i can lat pulldown 350 strict with perfect form from sitting down at 202lbs dope free. :)

  • @13andincrediblycut

bruh...ur gna be short for the rest of your life...just watch..

  • @kevman0154 I'm already 6'4" now so I don't think being short is an issue. :)

  • very good job

  • Good job...I'll get friendsly with the mechines in the gym in a minute. Though i have been warned for it. :O

  • im 13 only and my lat pull down max is about 350 using strictly perfect form and no gloves!

  • cut that pony tail off you fuckin faggot

  • @notchjohnson1 lol yea he should cut it off, u dont have to be a jackass about it tho

  • @notchjohnson1 You know, George Washington had a ponytail and he wrestled grizzly bears with his bare hands. Just saying. Let the man wear his hair however he wants. It's not affecting you.

  • @Pilaf1984 it is affecting me, and so are you by not suckin my cock so get movin i havent got all night

  • psh my name is lat PSH

  • @lattylat444 your name is lat psh?

  • Getting very friendly with that machine?!?!?!? ZOMG!!!!!!!!

  • to wide works rear delts fabio, despite rumors that wider is better your style actually barely even targets the lats. It's so sad the certification for trainers now require basically no knowledge.

  • who is that old man behind you? hahaha

  • Wow I never understood what "Pull" or "down" meant until just now! I thought they were french or something. Thanks Captain Ponytail!

  • if you can lat pulldown your own body weight is that good?

  • LMAO! at the old man in the background doing exactly what this guy was saying not to do.

  • @peanut2302 HAHAHAHA! i swear i pissed myself when i noticed that.

  • thanks at last, my stupid gym person in our school keeps telling me to not arch my back and that it should go all the way to my belly button, hes such an asshole and he thinks hes the most experienced.

  • hi, one thing im a bit confused on is the elbow position you say you should rotate it outwards then you rotate your elbows forward which position is it? hopefully soomone wil reply i kno its an old vid =/

  • @alibabazs What he meant is just keep your elbow outward when you grab the weight and when you pull it be sure your elbows face the floor. If they arent facing the floor then you're finishing the motion with a tricep pushdown.

  • @TimD106 i noticed it doesnt make a difference whether i rotate my elbows inward or outward when pulling the cable as long as im pulling the cable towards my upper chest my elbows point towards the floor more or less but i noticed i can handle more reps/weight with my elbows inward

  • thanks, great video!

  • Nice.

  • very well explained sir

  • haha the old man just walked by

  • Thanks, so much!!!!!! I've struggled with this exercise forever. I ever had a personal trainer at one point that never corrected my horrible form, and in fact always said "Put some bicpep into it!". Keeping my elbows down has relieved the stress off my biceps and put it into my lats.

  • HAhaha nice nice,crazy mf... Respect !

  • this instructor is just the cutest and more importantly, great explanation. thanks~

  • im going straight to the lat machine thaanx for the vid

  • what does this work (the biceps, triceps) ???

  • @money1032 the lts and teh biceps alittle bit

  • amazing video props to you :D

  • very nice work mate. I'm did some today, but I did them wrong. I'm going to go back tomorrow, hit that lat pulldown machine, use your tips, and blast my latissimus dorsi!

    Thanks again. Awesome video.

  • Does the reason for "getting friendly" with the pad have to do with the fact that the pad is almost right below the pulley and you want to get as close to the pulley as possible and still be stabilized? Are there any ill constructed machines which have the pulley way our in front of the pad?

  • @finalresistance Alignment is important, but you also want to be firmly locked into the machine, especially as you start getting higher weights, closer to body weight. If you're not firmly locked in, you'll become unstable as the pull down becomes a pull up and you start to lift yourself off the seat.

  • Best explanation I found yet. Finally I found the reason of my shoulder pain.

  • I got a question, the lat pulldown, has the same effect that a pull up? so if I cant do a pull up can I begin with the lat pulldown??

  • @filosofodemierda absolutely. This exercise is perfect for working up to pull ups. You can try assisted pull ups, too. Where you rest one foot on a chair in front of you while doing pullups. You can then use that leg slightly to help you during the up part of the pull up, and slowly lower yourself down unassisted. Doing the negative part of a pull up, or any exercise, is a great way to train for doing the whole thing.

  • Lol I'm glad I found this video because apparently I've been using bad form with a ton of weight for years. I'll try better form with less weight.

  • I thought these things would increase your pull up and chin up strength.

  • @Markohoppis Yep, they will. They're perfect for when you cant do pull ups, and want to train for them.

  • thank you. I started the GYM 8 weeks ago

  • Thanks.

  • Really Helpful Video! One can get a complete idea of what to Do and what Not to Do! Thanks a lot!

  • Very good, thanks.

So I take it that pulling the bar behind your head is not a bad thing, just different.

Some people claim its bad and should be avoided.

    Thanks for clearing that up.

  • @sagabrush It is bad. Your rotator cuff will hate you and you can be injured from the strain on the shoulders.

  • That was very helpful thank you!!!

  • LOL very friendly.

    sorry im immature.

  • he is gay

  • yummmmm KFC hahaha, no thats what black people eat. we eat McDonalds

  • at least when someone else in the world has a crisis we're there to help. what do you dumb european fucks do? sit around all day and suck each other's uncircumcised cocks?

  • I'm American, and I take no offense to that, it's the truth. +1.

  • Well, twat wasn't necessary! Lol

  • australia and britain have higher percentage of fat people

  • @tumzy187 america may be the country with the highest rate of obesity, BUT america is also the country where the top powerlifters/bodybuilders are in.

  • @SmexyPC Bodybuilders yes because bodybuilding is just roiding up. Powerlifting no because they actually test for steroids there.

  • @tumzy187

KFC? The whole US isn't Compton. It's McDonald's. If you're going to make fun of the best country on Earth, do it right.

  • @zeemonkey187 lmao, best country on earth???? its by far not any different than canada other than crime and a president instead of prime minister etc. oh and the states have a really bad way of making wars worse

  • thanks bro

  • for sure. I'll leave the rear lat pull down to the beast people.. can barely pull 110 behind the head.

  • why are you yelling at me

  • Hey Man thanks a lot I find your videos very helpful.

  • he is right with the widest grip possible.... the wider ur grip, the wider ur lats get, bottom line.

  • WRONG!..

  • Somehow the name of his website suggests stupidity and arrogance, as if people from one country set the standards on fitness. His video definitely proves his stupidity.

Go eat a MacBurger dude. And get ya self a Palin book - it has lots of photos, so you won't have to read.

  • lots of countries do the exact same fucking thing

  • Sure, and I critique them all without discrimination.

That said, I wouldn't have a website saying "fit to be x" where x refers to the country in the world with the largest percentage of obese people.

"fit to be obese". Eh, no, thank you.

  • Hey Mr. Trainer/Pony Tail guy, got a few issues with your video.

    1. Do you really suggest THE WIDEST GRIP POSSIBLE? Because the wider the grip, the less the range of motion for 100% of people. So that's incorrect! And 2. Why is your eccentric portion of the exercise faster than your concentric? That's way less benificial, why not redo your video and try showing what's best rather than "HOW YOU DO IT?"

Lastly, the behind the neck pulldown is beneficial for NO HUMAN! Only BAD!

  • Well said, particularly your point about behind the neck. That WAS old school and I'm now paying the price for it. All you beginners, do NOT bother with behind the neck.

  • I am the dawg the big bad dawg the bounty hunter

  • I bet that old man in the background could teach us all a thing or two about what it means to be fit. Hanging out in the gym at 85 years old is really something to be admired!

  • Comment removed

  • ya 20% one state ....33% another state....add all these numbers divide by how many states the us has ...and u get...well 70% if im not mistaken its probably more right now

  • This is really bad math.

Really, a 5th grader in most countries would know this one.

  • I always get real friendly with the machine...

  • fit to be an american......hmmmmm 70% of americans are obese.....hmmmmmmm

  • lmao isnt that sad?

im from america but im very fit and healthy.. but like 1 in every 5 americans are Obese or something like that :P

    Thats pathetic
