i always thought my parents were a bit overprotective, but after watching this I am so thankful that they're not anywhere near as paranoid as this mother
this is so over the top and gross. its called "emotional incest". as in all emotional incest, the daughter has to soothe the mother of her own neurosis. we need to educate and empower our daughters! not watch the fear-based news broadcasts like mind controlled sheep and in turn throw fear into our children. we need to empower ourselves as mothers and in turn empower our daughters. take a self defense class with your daughter! get cell phones! build trust in yourself and trust in your daughter.
I´ve just broke up with my fiance because of his mom.
He didn´t have an own life, she hacked his emails, delete some fo them, check his phone, manipulate situations, lied....and he did´nt realize or do anything about it!. He was on his 30th!!!

My parents are very strict and over protective and all I want is a few piercings and a couple other things as I post this comment I am locked in my room because I didnt go to bed last night and to top it all off I can't go any where without my parents
I remember thinking Ashley seemed REALLY young for 14, no doubt due to being oversheltered. She's 20 today...hopefully its changed at least a little bit! lol
Just to play devil's advocate, I can relate to both sides. No doubt there are creeps and dangers in the world kids need to be protected from, but raising her to be responsible and street smart would seem much better than treating her like an extended 5 year old.
one day ashley going to up sticks and leave mommy...quickly followed by tattoos...piercings...drugs and booze along with the sex that she will have been missing out on whilst living with her mother...although the mother luvs her daughter she going way over the top....she just passing her fears on to her daughter and that not good...has for knowing all her passwords etc that not right at all...and do we honestly think Ashley not got secret accounts...mother making her a liar and a schemer.
I seem to remember another episode, where Ashley was like 17 (and I remember her hair was brunette), and she was still complaining about her mom being too overprotective....
