is it so wrong that i like this game and MW4 about equally? i mean seriously, there are some things i like better about 3 and things i like more about 4
One thing that was hella funny to me about the Orion... I deliberately take down the Orion by the leg. I salvage the Orion. I use the Orion (until Ops Zone 4 or the Mad Cat, whichever comes first)... then I jokingly called myself "Master of Orion." =P God, Mech3 is still fun (I play Mech2 these days).
The guys who made this game... are the same guys who made MAG. Their a great company who makes great games and is highly popular but manage to stay out of the lime light due to having such an obscure and forgettable company name. Guess that is their intention. All their games are great, they are due a lot more credit then they receive.
@MrSplademan No offense, but I lost faith in Zipper with SOCOM 4. (The SOCOM series was awesome as I thought of that franchise as Counter-Strike meets Metal Gear Solid, until they had to accept not-awesome-anymore-cash-whores Activision and EA's cheap shooter methods. What the hell's so appealing with ducking behind something and ooh... your health refills suddenly? That's not realistic! No offense, but I still consider Valve's Half-Life as more practical.)
I'd agree, no offense taken, to take offense to another opinion regardless of it's intent I consider to be a reflection of an inability to acknowledge others, which in itself is Solipsism and douche-like.
MW3 was always my favorite. I never did get a chance to test myself on-line. I did notice that if you leg-shoot an opponent with lasers, you're more likely to get that mech and its weapons as salvage.
Well, you actually do pick what you want to salvage. It's up to your skills in how you disable the mech you want to salvage. Salvage in MW3 is not scripted. You want to salvage a mech? Hit the cockpit with lasers.
@cirian75 Well to be honest, MW4 Mercs had a much better mech selection than MW3 (even w/o the MekPak). If you took MW3's gameplay and MW4 Mercs mech selection, you would get a great mechwarrior game.
I normaly just keep my AC10 Ammo for that orion. Medium lasers are for the other assholes. I just cut his leg off normally, so I have better chance of salvaging him.
Ah yeah, the game is fading out of existence sadly, and compatibility is going with it. The game itself is good enough to buy an old win98 comp if you have the money and passion.

MW2 was pretty good. Although I played it when I was a tiny kid, so my memories of it are fuzzy at best. At least you don't prefer MW4. =)

MechWarrior is just a bug/spam for all MW2 searchers...
Asama47815673 2 years ago
@Asama47815673 Modern Warfare is a shitty game series anyway.

Why didn't you salvage the Orion?
SoddinNutter 2 years ago
Haha well, I don't really get to pick what I get to salvage.
Griuqs 2 years ago
Erm, I remember that when you legged a 'Mech, if if you were careful and kept overall damage to a minimum, you got it as salvage.

@krabcheesewonton76 I cant play MW3 anymore, have gone all win7 64bit, so my disk is gathering dust.

(Or I just shoot his cockpit)
MW5 is coming out BTW... :D

how'd you get this to run without crashing?
rokth 2 years ago
I didn't really do anything... MW3 has always run fine on every comp I've installed it on.
Griuqs 2 years ago
On win xp it can sometimes crash while startint the game, but there is patch available for it, quite easy to find.

"Strana Mechty"? That's not a planet, that's a bad scrabble hand!
Kemonokami 2 years ago
Maybe they ran out of names to use in the 31st century. Maybe they did use Scrabble.
Halo1138 2 years ago
Well, there is a planet named "Here and Anywhere" in Battletech...

English is not the only language on Earth, and at least it ain't called Fartington.

I know, I know. That comment's old, though. It's Russian for "Land of Dreams."

The end of this one can be tricky if you want to try and salvage the Ori.

I always sniped the Orion with large lasers and LRMs
cheesteakjimmys 3 years ago
I never liked large lasers tbh, I just love going up to him and blasting away.
Griuqs 3 years ago
I always hated that Orion. He always just lobed tons of missiles and killed me before I could even yell "corner camper."
S0AP117 3 years ago
Ah yeah, first time I played through, he tore me up, but after I played a few instant actions and honed my skills, he was cake. Just can't fear him.
Griuqs 3 years ago
You're not bad for a Lance Leader. :) I'm pretty good at this game too, you know.

Hey what's that supposed to mean? lol, and I don't doubt your skill.
