This clown is manically fast, it could be adjusted by adding weight inside the hat, which could slow it down to one beat a second or less.

Ahhh! Usually these French automatons are really pretty. This one's is pretty scary. Did the book shop go out of business very quickly? I can't imagine this attracting customers.

Nodders are a well known type of automaton, sometimes they have counterbalanced eyes or jaws to increase the amount of movement, but its the nodding and the sound that bring it to life.
