Actually it's quite true. I think it's fine to look for deeper meanings, however there are many contradictions in the bible that relate to when something happened, not why. There are contradictions between claimed lineages of people. There are several contradictions where both views cannot be logically true.
To say there is a deeper meaning when there is in fact just two different accounts is to rationalize away the contradiction.

Actually it's quite true. I think it's fine to look for deeper meanings, however there are many contradictions in the bible that relate to when something happened, not why. There are contradictions between claimed lineages of people. There are several contradictions where both views cannot be logically true.
To say there is a deeper meaning when there is in fact just two different accounts is to rationalize away the contradiction.
