your room lifestyle looks exactly like mine. i have 3 doves in my cage and with a perch on the top and i have 6 guitars and 3 amps sitting in each corners! haha btw love the training tips :)
This is what you said and I quote ''the darker or brown the dove is the more wild'' noooo your ass is wroooong... And I bet you anything that if you release your dove outside it won't comeback on command ... :) but trust me if people can teach a diamond dove to return to them you'll get there with your albino doves!!!
LISTEN everybody any dove in the world can be tamed it does not matter their species capeech okay... Note doves aren't stupid you are BLONDY !!! Any questions ask me I have ring-necks & my favorite diamond doves they the smaller species will actually perch on my hand but also YES the younger the bird the easier to be tamed...... XD!!! Doves are the beasts !!!!
is there a way you can calm a dove down? I've been holding it the way you showed it but when i do he squeels and tries to break out and sometimes actually pecks at my hand :/ please help!!!
i have question. i got a albino dove yesterday, and every time i reach to get it, it squeals and moves away from my hand. what am i doing wrong? should i let it out of its cage more? how can i get it more used to me?
ok i have a dove and her favorite perch is on my closet door, is it ok to change a doves perching spot? becuz my dad wants me to by a perch cuz hes tired of bird crap on my floor lol
@imfaster ok one other thing, ive had it for about 2 months now and its still sorta afraid of me, i talk to it feed it and let it out all the time, yet im not having alot of luck, he is a male and i try to hold him and at times i have success but most of the time he ends up flying away untill he gets tired or finds something to land on, any advice for that?
i am about to buy doves and i'm not sure. can all doves be trained to do the same thing? i want to use the doves in a performance where they fly out, come back and possibly hover (is that possible with a group of doves?) how do i train them all, just one by one? please help.
i have fan tails and i have never trained them... they live in the home i made them (three metres up on a pole) and dont really leave the yard.. even the offspring have nested in my yard..(dunno what to do about the incest)
I was wondering if you know how to train a dove to fly back home if you want to let it outside for a bit to stretch it's wings. When I was younger I used to have two albino doves (1 male and one female which eventually became three doves). The male dove managed to get out of his cage and was gone for like 3 or 4 days. One day I came home and he was in my backyard. He let me pick him up and put him back into his cage. Since then I've been interested in how to effectively train them to do this.
cool posters u got there. by the way nice man. i will try this one. i am planning to have a dove routine for my trick, am just getting started. this video is useful thanks for posting.
Hmmm, just asking, because I clipped my doves wing because when they fly in my house, they often knock their heads on the ceilling so I'm really afraid to hurt them. Is there a way I can train my doves to not go knock their heads on the ceiling ? Anyways, thanks for the vid :D
OK I have to train a dove for my church Easter musicals. I have to get it so she flies down to "Jesus" from the balcony and then back up to me. Is this video good to use for this or what exactly could I do?
I am having the same problem, I bought 2 doves, but they are very very defensive... I tried to be soft and approach them in a nice way, but they seems to be running away from my hands... :( Any suggestion brother?
just grab the bird from the cage.. corner it if you have to..BUT grab it safely as not to hurt the bird..
once you have the bird you can take it to a corner and step it up from finger to finger... 10 min at a time and 3 times a day.. then let it rest on you shoulder when you can that will help it get used to you.
ALSO COVER WINDOWS!!! put the blinds down or pull the curtains. birds WILL try to fly through glass and this does is a bad thing
i have a full grown dove i just rescued and its being kindda hard for me to even get close to him . he is very a defensive and nervous. any suggestion ?

move slow and hold it as i instructed you need to get him comfortable with being handled before anything else

Why should doves be left in a cage when you are not training them? Does it make them less trainable or is it because they can get into trouble?

It keeps there ability to fly for long periods of time lower and as a magician you want that. if there just as pets do as you like

maybe food, temperature of the room, esp how to train them to use a toilet haha something like that.
nway thnx for the advice.Maybe i would give u a pm for futher questions.
mindfreak172 3 years ago
make sure they have a big cage.. the bigger the better.. do not over crowd them..
as for food..go to the store and get the 50 pound bag of wild bird seed.. (cheap stuff)
treats they like spray millet..
temp doesnt matter much... i kept mine out side from temps 0 to over 100 just make sure they are kept covered and night..
they poop when they poop.. there not smart enough to potty train.
