The engine in a car is a replacable spare part you could have fitted by a dealer for many years after it was sold.
What makes a GT "authentic" (I think this is the word you may have been thinking about) is it must be the original 65H body shell(54H for sedans) with numbers matching its I.D. plates.
@001whitelighter .. ok , as you said original motor disappeared 18 yrs ago and if u kept the original motor and then the car would worth very big dollars today in collection up to $100,000 it depend on condition of the GT hope it make sense now ..lol ;-)
Just using the car for good times, not as a museum piece.
You'll see by my other videos, that it has been rebuilt to near factory specs (original colours Burnt Orange/Walnut glow and trim) and still used for good times.
After owning this coupe for 22 years I don't reckon I've wasted it's use!
No structural changes required for XA thru to XE. Just fit some Pacemaker engine mounts and extractors and shift the gearbox crossmember back as far as it will go(this depends on the gearbox you use) then happy times with heaps of torque!
did you have to notch the strut towers to fit the big block in the xb, i wana put a big block in my xa coupe. ive been told the strut towers need to be modified to fit the big block between them.
I wish I could afford tires like you can! Love it

it not orignal gt anymore ..but you can do it up as repica gt and it wont make big dollars out of it
