I beat someone who started the fight and was about twice my weight. He offered to shake hands after the fight and I gave in. As he got hold of my right hand, he pulled me towards him as his left hand punched at my gut. In street fight you have two or more fagots that willingly exchange strikes.

In self defense you have one or more aggressors and a unwilling victim that avoid fighting by all mean. His option to avoid fighting range from running away to killing the aggressor.

The study of self-defense is the study of that range of options, their application and implication. Fuck you.

Self defense is like when you're in a bar, and then some guy hits on your girl friend, then u go up to him and tell him to back off, then he touches you, in this situation if he touches you or threaten you, its self defense, because the fight basically started already. Its a street fight if he asks you to step out side and fight. That situation is avoidable.

Technically speaking, if you avoid a street fight you could stay in one piece without being hurt. But if you avoid defending your self, you will get your ass whooped. Even in law and in martial arts, street fighting and self defense are considered synonymous.
